Went to VomFASS this last week to paint wine glasses. The owners met us at the door and we had a table in the middle of the shop. There was a whole group of us. The owners were fun and engaging and made excellent appetizers to go with our experience for the evening. The shop is located in the Crestview Hills shopping center. This paid event came with a couple glasses of wine and we were able to choose which wine we wanted them to pour, we just let them know red or white, sweet or dry. I chose a couple of sweet ones and I liked them both. They had a fall design picked for everyone for the glasses and even though the theme was chosen everyone's glass set had its own personality. They gave instructions along the way and dispersed the paint to us. After the class you were to set the paint in place in the oven. Remember also to hand wash the glasses as the dishwasher would remove the paint. After painting we also got to try their many liqueur types and also some pre-blended cocktails. They also have olive oils, vinegars, and gift items located through-out the store. They have started offering food all day now and the appetizers were delicious so I have to imagine their food offerings would be as well. Come out and see them. read more

We was having lunch next door at First Watch when we stumbled upon Vom Fass. We've been looking for a place who sells specialty olive oil and vinegar for a while, since the one at Jungle's Jim closed. We are happy that we found tgis place. Service was excellent. The place is great, setup of convenience and easy to maneuver around. They don't just have tasting for oil & vinegar, but also for cognac, whiskey, wine. He also told us, they offer food a couple times a week, cooking class, charcuterie class. Bottom line is, if you need specialty oil, vinegar, liqueur, etc., come see them at Vom Fass! This store makes me smile. I mean it has wine beer mixed drinks bourbon on one side and delicious oils and vinegars on the other. Who wouldn't be happy. The owner is so nice and you can sample everything and get a glass of wine too. They serve food which I have not tried yet but I will in the future. read more

I came here with a groom friends. We had so much fun! This store is a place to be- it's not only for wine, liqueur, vinegar, oils, spices, etc, but is can be a privately booked party. We celebrated a birthday- Jeff and his staff were able to accommodate us. Jeff and staff cooked and served food and drinks for our party. They were all very personable, friendly, attentive. We feel that we got our money's worth and more! We feel that we made a new friend with Jeff and his staff. I highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back again. read more

I attended a Thursday night wine tasting with a friend. We were welcomed by Jeff and seated at reserved table. You do have to make reservations in advance for their monthly wine tastings. Once everyone was seated for the tasting, there were 3 other tables with seated guests, Jeff told the Vom Fass story and how he and his business partner Jim found the franchise and opened this location at Crestview Hills shopping center several years ago. The wine tasting consisted of 2 white wines and 3 red wines, plus appetizers made using the olive oils which were available for sample and sale in the shop. What made the wine tasting fun was everyone went around the room and introduced themselves was a great way to meet other people as we enjoyed the wines. I enjoyed Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand the best. The appetizers were good, the dates were delicious. It was a fun evening and they offered a discount on all wines purchased that evening, of course I purchased the Sauvignon Blanc and my friend purchased several bottles of the red wine she enjoyed. I also purchased a few bottles of the specialty olive oil as I love cooking with good olive oils. I found out they also have dinners for $30 a person you can reserve for a group of 6 or more and they also have a burger & beer night. A few of my friends mentioned and raved about this place (located in Crestview Hills Town Center-one store down from Bath and Bodyworks). VOM FASS is a European specialty store sampling products from artisan-produced oils/vinegars, Scotch and Irish Whiskeys, Fine Brandies, Wines and other spirits, liqueurs. You can sample them before purchasing. As we walked in we are right away greeted and helped by Susan (so down to earth). It is one store, but separated. One side is the oils and next door are the wines/spirits. Browsed around and looked at the oils first. There are so many to choose from. I was amazed and at the same time overwhelmed. There are cards on what the oils and vinegars go good with. Many are labeled Cholesterol free, from organic cultivation, rich in essential alpha-linolenic acid (making the oil sensitive to heat and light), Rich in essential gama-linolenic acid (making the oil sensitive to heat and light), rich in Vitamin E, Rich in natural antioxidants, and last seasonal availability. You can purchase different size bottles. You are able to bring them back in and have them refilled (make sure to bring them clean and dry. They are also dishwasher safe). They have a great selection of olive oils, infused oils, nut and seed oils, wellness oils, wine vinegars, fruit balsamic vinegars, and Aceto Balsamico (sweet and sour seasonings balsamic vinegars). I purchased a 1L bottle for $1.99 with it Calamansi Vinegar $4.99 (Philippine Vinegar-great for fish) and the another 1L bottle with it the Basil Oil $6.99 (can't wait to try it on my salads and fish). I tried a couple of them and those were my favorites. Next time I come back I will get the Oregano Oil. You are able to go online and purchase. Also if you don't feel like browsing around the store and look at your own time, the web is your best bet. Then we proceeded next door to the wine/spirits and Lynda assisted us (very friendly and helpful). I am not sure on the price tastings for the scotch/liqueurs. The Liqueurs are primarily made by small artisan producers from around Europe. They also have liqueurs featured by Yahara Bay Distillers in Madison, Wisconsin. They sell Absinthe, Brandy, Cognac & Armagnac, Fruit Brandies, Scotch Whiskey, American & Irish Whiskey, Rum, Gin and Vodka. Next time I return, I am definitely going to try the Scotch Whiskey and Cognacs. For right now, we did the wine tastings for $1.00 (1 oz. pour per glass). Pricing for bottles and tastings are reasonable. I ended up getting a bottle of Chevalier du Grand Loc (dry red wine from France) for $12.99 and did three tastings. This place has so much to offer. They also have upcoming events/classes, you can join the Oil & Vinegar of the month club, gift sets to purchase, and cooking classes. I highly recommend coming here. I want to first start off saying the owner JEFF was very insulting. I called up here a week ago and spoke to a young lady. I told her I was interested in reserving a class for my birthday on the 27th of January. She told me that date was available, I would need to have a total of 6 people in order to reserve that date and we will all have to pay an extra $5. I called back today and spoke to Jeff. I told him I would like to set up a reservation for the 27th. He said that date was already booked, but would I be interested to reserve a date next month. I told him that's okay, and explained my reason for wanting to book for this month. He proceeds and says "Well.. my birthday is this month too so I hope your birthday is as eventful as mine!" As an owner that was VERY inappropriate to say to a customer. I have never been to Vom Fass, but from the interaction I experience today I will NEVER COME HERE. read more

This is a little hidden gem in Crestview Hills shopping center. It's a great place to gather with a few friends and enjoy a delicious glass of wine. They even offer bourbon and whiskey. The prices are average and the staff and owners are really friendly. They're knowledgeable of their products and offer samples. You can buy alcohol by the glass or by the bottle. Last time I visited I decided to try an hors d'oeuvre. For only $5 I received slices of cucumbers with salmon bites on top drizzled in oil. It was actually very satisfying with my wine. They offer inside seating which is very intimate with only one bar table. There is also patio seating with umbrellas and comfortable chairs. Attached to the wine/liquors space is another store where they sell oils for cooking. Overall it's a fun place to visit and unwind from a busy day! read more

I go here for happy hour sometimes. I always get the "Old Fassion". Never disappoints. I'm itching to buy their bourbon. They have a lot of craft spirits and they sell them in cool decanters and bottles that remind me of what the wizards shops in "The Legend of Zelda" would look like in real life. Speaking of that, I think they have some pots in there. I've never gotten drunk enough to attempt breaking them in hopes of getting rupees though. Anyway. The staff are always so nice. There is a guy there that really knows his stuff when it comes to every product there. Especially the wine. My wife has bought a couple bottles there and she loves them. Btw the spirits make great gifts! They even have, I don't know what you'd call them, flights? They have three different spirits in smaller bottles. They even have all in one kits to make some of the drinks. It's such a good place. They offer classes on cocktail making to brunch. Just check it out. I seriously don't know how I didn't find this place before. Two things I love combined into one little store and it is perfection. On one side they have an all of oil bar with a bunch of seasonings and balsamic. I ended up getting fig, pumpkin, and this lemon flavor one that is to die for. I actually like their selection and flavor better than we olive. Price was really good too. But on the other side is a wine bar! Great flavored liquor selection and the winds were delicious. We probably tried every single one they make. Lol. We ended up drinking a few glasses as well and buying some to take home. The owner Jeff is just outstanding. We talk to him the entire time. He knows his stuff and was very funny. I've already started talking about a girls night and a date night to do there separately. If you haven't been you have to try this place out! Fantastic!! We hosted a wine tasting at Vom Fass last night run by the owners: Jim and Jeff. We had a great time. Our guests had a great time. Jim, Jeff and their staff went out of their way to make sure we had fun. They made the most delicious spread of appetizers - all made with their products (recipes were included). I cannot recommend Vom Fass enough. We have been customers in the past for oils/vinegars but now we will be wine and liqueur customers as well. If you have a small group that is looking for something to do one evening, schedule a wine tasting or olive oil tasting or liqueur tasting party. Your group will have a lot of fun. Or just stop buy and try one of their homemade "Old Fashions"....you will not be disappointed. read more

The food was great the parents were excellent and the people were exceptional. I would certainly recommend them for your events. This place is amazing it offers a wide variety of wine, spirits, and liquor's. Along with the oils and vinegars side of the store. They also have some amazing cooking classes with a variety of different meals to choose from. You can do tasting of anything in the store to see if you like it before you buy it. My husband and I found this place after we had just purchased a baguette from Jimmy Johns and absolutely fell in love with the idea of dipping the bread in their olive oil and vinegars! The employee was so personable and brought many samples for us to try, along with different wines we might fancy. Altogether, we had a wonderful time that prompted us to sign up for a wine, cheese, and chocolates class that teaches guests how to pair their wines with hors des'oevres. I loved the atmosphere so much that I applied to work there when we finally moved to Northern Kentucky 9 months later. I still LOVE it and all my coworkers come with their friends on days off just to enjoy it. It's definitely affordable for a couple on a budget, but I didn't want to just come when I could afford to; that's why I got the job! read more
