My four friends and I drove over an hour away to Danbury to check out Primark. I have never been here before, this is the only location in Connecticut. Primark is an Irish retailer of affordable fashion for men, women and children. Other locations also carry home items, but not the Danbury location. They are very popular across the British Isles as well as several countries across Europe. The Primark in Danbury is part of the Danbury Fair Mall, the good news is you can access it as its own store, no need to go through the mall. This store is massive, there were so many shoes when we first walked in. There's hair accessories, purses and other small knickknacks. The clothes aren't super organized. The hangers are marked with various sizes, but they are actually all random sizes hung on random hangers. This was everywhere, same with the shoes. I am a bit selective when it comes to clothes shopping, I prefer my items to be mostly cotton. Cotton items were difficult to find or non existent at Primark. We spent two hours here and all I found were two items. Keeping in mind that they are a fast fashion retailer, the quality isn't always there. Loose strings, uneven stitching, unavailable sizes are all a part of the gamble. The wait to access a fitting room was surprisingly fast and efficient. The line to check out was long but moved fast, due to several open registers. I'm glad I experienced Primark, while they aren't for me, they might be for you. Marshalls, Target and Amazon are more accessible for me. read more

Danbury primark, I found some of the children shirts on clearance for $6 and others were $2 , the manager jose was call and was asked about adjusting the other shirts for the $2, he said he cannot do that cause it wasn't the right price when they were the one that did the pricing on the shirt. when we told him the Ct Law , says that customer is right and was suppose the adjust , he then had a attitude and said well if you want them that bad and just adjusted only 5 shirts for $2. he was very rude and was very disappointed because I enjoy going to the store and I'm a regular.. read more

I had to attend a wedding and i wanted a suit that was up to date and i was able to get suit and shirt for under$250! I have also been complimented on the clothes i have purchased from here. I first was introduced to Primark in Italy. I loved that store! Little did I know once I moved to NY I'd be just a short drive to the Danbury Fair right where Primark is conveniently located! Think of this place like a target for clothes only at an even more affordable price. Stylish things like H&M at a super convenient cost. Perfect spot to go on a quick last minute vacation shopping for the summer. You can literally go on a little shopping spree and refresh your wardrobe at a really low cost. Last minute outfit panic? Primark's got you! Shoes seem poor quality and very cheap. Surprisingly we've purchased both men and women's and they lasted throughout the whole winter without even breaking up. You can easily get a cute pair to switch up and go with your outfits Kids clothes are also great, who can beat $3 shirts? We've purchased things here for my nieces and nephews and you honestly can't beat the cheap prices. They do have a wider selection for girls than boys. Wish they would step it up with the little boys sesh. Besides that, awesome store. Don't expect high quality but do expect low prices for cute stuff. I am SOOOOO happy that my brother told me about Primark. He lives in CT with his family and he assured me that it was worth the trek out of Yonkers. The ride isn't too bad; about an hour from my house and out of the multiple times I've visited, I have never experienced ANY traffic heading towards or leaving the Danbury Fair Mall in which Primark resides. Since my first visit, I have told many friends, family members AND my patients about this store. I usually describe it as a culmination of Forever XXI, H&M and Uniqlo all mixed together with REALLY good pricing and quality merch. The staff is so helpful, it's a little remarkable. From what I understand, this department store is from the UK and although they have another location NJ, the Connecticut store is much closer to my home. It doesn't hurt that it is housed within a mall that also has a lot of other stores that I can visit so that I can justify the fact that my trip is not only for one store (it is but, you know, semantics). The layout of the store makes it worthwhile for the entire family to get out of the house; they offer WiFi, comfy seating for your tired husbands, boyfriends and children, as well as a myriad of outlets so that they can keep all of their tech fully charged and working and remain engaged with electronic distraction while you shop away! Primark has a children's department with the cutest clothing. The men's department has some sexy ass slim-fit suits and chill casual wear. The women's department has trendy styles for all tastes and ages; they have super stretchy skinny jeans that will make you squeal with delight! The accessories are never-ending, with $15 sequinned clutches that looked expertly embroidered. You name it, you will find it, from makeup to luggage to home goods and shoes. I LOVE this store and any time I can make an excuse, I will drag my sister for a shopping "road trip". There are also some really good restaurants nearby so you canake a day of it and grab dinner before heading back home. The Danbury location has more women's and kids options...mot much in the way of menswear, esp. dress shirts - except for a lot of slim fit options. And next to NO ties. One of their $5 cologne bottles had a scent that reminded me of incense burning on Sunday Mass. Ehh, no thanks. Women will love the 1000's of options of shoes. For the guys though, I was a little unimpressed. The checkout lines do move quickly. The WiFi in the store, that you will see mildly over-advertised, didn't seem to want to connect consistently to my phone without booting my connection constantly, so I gave up. I'll stick to Boscov's in Milford next time. read more

Come here if you're looking for shein in real life. Super low priced trending items. The store is so clean and in order. Dressing rooms are clean, large and easy to access. They even have a children's and men's section. My toddler got a few pairs of shorts and they really are cute and decent quality. I love that they are not the mainstream look that we always see in all the other children's clothing's store. I'd stay away from the shoes. Lots of cute imitations but super uncomfortable. read more

Everything is so cheap, but the quality isn't great. My fiancé loves it, because he can get all his basics at a great deal. Highly recommend for T-shirt's, socks, work out gear, etc. Not so great for sweaters or fancier clothes as they do get weird when you wash them! As far as I know, this is one of the few if not only Primark store in America. I'm surprised it hasn't caught on to other parks of the country. Pros - inexpensive clothes - official Disney and Harry Potter branded items (WOOT) - clean store and spotless dressing room - UK store (clothing sizes make more sense, in my opinion, in Europe) Cons - some of the clothes feel itchy. I have slight eczema on my elbows and some materials made it flare up badly. - there seems to be a lot of secret shoppers walking around literally saying they're secret shoppers. Good for you, buddy. - avoid all toiletries and chotchkies. Just go for the clothes and sometimes the shoes (though they feel like H&M's brand of shoes, the kind you don't want to wear for too long or you'll develop a bad blister) The cashiers don't seem too happy so try to joke with them or something to make the time go by faster. There's always kids running around smashing into displays and breaking things, so I can only imagine the stress they go through. read more

Fantastic cheap alternative to shopping for clothes and many other offerings. I love Primark I get all my flannels from them and they sell their flannels at a low price a shirt that you would spend $25 bucks on you get at Primark for $7 bucks and better quality. I LOVE THIS STORE! I try to avoid coming often otherwise I will purchase the whole place. Last trip I went in for just a pair of jeans, ended up spending $130 on other stuff. The home section gets me every time. I don't find their quality that bad as mentioned in other reviews. But I also purchase clothes more for my son. Really can't beat $3-$5 shirts especially when it won't fit my son next year, why buy something more expensive? All the clothes I've got from here have been great except for one pair of jeans that I purchased couple months ago, the stitching came undone on the back pocket, had to throw out. Sizes are screwy because European sizes do not translate well to American sizes. Clothing is shaped weird. Cheap products. Manager is rude. I bought a product yesterday, still had the tag on it, the primark paper ripped (per usual) so I through it out, the receipt must have still been in there. The piece of clothing is too small, alll I wanted to do was exchange it for a different size. Still has tags on it and everything. Why can't they be like every other American store and give store credit/exchange? Feels like their assuming everything customer is a thief. That's why they have plain clothes security walking around there store the whole time their open. Products are shit and so is their customer service. read more

I'm heading to the Danbury location, just a short 40 min (or less). I'm very happy they opened a Primark so close as the two original stores were in Boston & somewhere in PA (King of Prussia?) which were both too far. I'm familiar with Primark from living and frequently visiting the UK. It's the only store I can buy jeans/ trousers for my teen and I without trying them on and have them fit perfect - in the UK the most expensive pair I've purchased was £11, so I'm curious to see what the price difference might be. I can definitely vouch for quality, I have items purchased over ten years ago that still look crisp, not faded. Great for jeans, kids clothes (the cutest patterns!) ladies pajamas & robes, accessories. Housewares are hit or miss, same with shoes (exception slippers, my current pair are 3 1/2 years old!) as the shoes can be rather cheap - great if you want a trendy pair for one season, but I prefer to have items last (trying to keep things out of the landfills). I'm so excited, gotta get moving.... Bonus: if you get off the exit before, there's a great Trader Joes! (You can follow Mill Plain Rd north to get to the mall). Will update to see if it's as good as the stores in the UK. Update 16 August 2017: I've been there three times since I wrote this initial review, each time finding great bargains! Tip: always check out the clearance items. Over the winter I got five packs of socks for $2, a really soft microfibre queen size sheet set for $7, my last visit a few weeks ago I got a gorgeous dress for $4! Prices seem to be similar to the UK and the selection is great. It's been great for me as I'm in-between sizes, losing weight (not as quickly as I gained due to a med change) and I can't justify buying higher end clothing that might be useless in a month; though nearly everything I purchased I should still be able to wear with adjustments (a belt, or as a winter layering piece). One other tip: some all cotton clothing shrinks if put in the dryer. If you like the fit as is, hang to dry. (It's random, some things shrink, others don't, just be aware of fit, hang to dry if you're happy with fit as is.) The employees on each visit were all very cheerful, kind and helpful (they'll take you right to what you're looking for rather than point to a general area where something might be) even if the store is busy; something rare and lacking in most chain stores. But occasionally you do find great steals for both quantity and quality. $100 here will get you $200 worth of clothes when compared to forever 21. They're always up with the current fashions too! Can't say enough about this place. Ironically when the store first opened up I was unable to buy anything because I was too big. I recently lost 71 pounds and now can fit in almost all their clothing. Fantastic variety and great prices. Work dress clothing and very nice causal clothing. Store seems very clean, and the ladies in the fitting rooms were VERY VERY helpful. BUT had a terrible interaction with one of their managers. I had pulled a sweater off of a rack that was on sale from $21 to $7. It was the only rack in the department with those sweaters. They were all different colors. When I went to check out, it rang in as $21. I told the cashier who got the manager who then went to check the rack. He comes back at least ten minutes later and tells me 'The sale is for all of the colors except this one'. He said it very rude as well. Needless to say, I left all of my stuff there and walked out. I stopped by tonight to do a return, waiting in the long Christmas line. I returned three items and forgot to return the 4th. The cashier was annoyed that I was doing a return but I had no issue. When I left the line I realized I forgot to return the 4th item so I got back in line again. When I got to the register the cashier told me that I could not return my item which was $4 because I didn't have the original card that I purchased it with. My original card has expired and I was issued a new one from my bank. The cashier got her manager who came over and told me the original cashier had made an error and I should not have been able to return anything. I feel this is very poor customer service. I have worked several years in retail and this is not the right way to get customers to return to your store. I had a receipt and that should be enough to return an item. I do like the prices of Primark, however, I will not be returning because of their poor customer service and unfriendly attitudes. read more

Visiting Danbury for the weekend. Took a trip to the mall to buy clothes for the kids. I've been wanting to check out Primark for awhile. They have nice clothes for a very decent price. Can't beat $5 tee shirt for your 3 year old who will later just spill spaghetti sauce on it. They also have stuff for your homes. It was quite busy on a Sunday afternoon on February 25th. As we were waiting in line it was our turn and the cashier was waving her arms like a crazy person, like I hear you and I see you but give me some time to get to you cause you are like 7 registers down and I have to fight the crowd. Seriously calm down. The cashier was a white lady with long blonde hair and she was not pleasant. She just rang our clothes and threw it in the bag. I don't expect it to be perfectly folded but she just threw our clothes in the bag. Then when it was the candles turn I was kinda nervous. We got 3 candles and she put it all in the same bag. Um, lady it was break if you do it that way. We had to ask for extra bags. Miserable. read more

It was my first time there over the weekend and I was impressed. I was able to find what I needed with no hassle and there was a wide selection of what I was looking for. From the outside it looks small but on the inside it was huge. It included all the different sections you would get in any other department store. In my many trips to the mall I finally ventured into Primark!!! I have been trying to put into words what kind of store it is. It's like H&M's little sister. The presentation is amazing, and you truly get your bang for your buck and the quality of the clothes is phenomenal! I got some really cute things for my husband, son and myself and was very pleased with the price! My husband needed some new t shirts for around the house I must have gotten atleast 5 as they were $3.50! I also got him a sweat pants sweatshirt set that looked exactly like H&M's for a whopping total of $16.50!! I got my son some cool clothes for when he starts daycare and now he won't be wearing the same carters outfits as the other kids (well atleast not the first week). They also had cool colored luggage, toiletries, office supplies I even saw weave, lol. I swear I didn't get any . I did get my husband a dress shirt they are cheap without looking cheap. Lastly, it is spacious and organized and I like the music they play. This store makes up for them getting rid of H&M. Smart move to add this store! read more
