Macy's a store you can depend on. They have departments which serve the whole family-men's, women, children, household and cosmetics/perfumes and cologne. The store is well maintained and organized. I found the employees to be rather helpful as well. They have 3 floors of different areas to shop, they even have a Macy's backstage which offer deeper discounts on items. read more

I had a frustrating experience at Old Navy. I bought 5 items, but I was overcharged because two items were added twice. My total came out to $80 when it should have been around $50. When I went back to the cashier, she told me only one item would be refunded. I had to explain again that there were actually two duplicate charges. Only after insisting, she checked again and finally processed the correct return. The situation was confusing and embarrassing. I hope staff can be more careful and pay better attention when scanning items. read more

This Macy's is quite large, with three levels which catch your eyes. I found this location to be busy, with pretty much every department filled with lots of customers, and staff as well. The number of staff seems to be pretty high in some departments, which is awesome to see. In some areas, they need to have more, specifically the Houseware Department. I was thrilled with the selections, even with the men's department carrying enough variety with style and design. It would be nice to see it recovered and organized, as some clothes were packed together on the rack and on the ground. The store for the most part looked clean in the interior, and the decor brings the cleanness to another level. Things moved along pretty well in the store, which makes me happy in the long run. read more

Came here because I needed to return a duplicate gift from our wedding registry. The return was quick and easy on a Macy's gift card. We went to housewares to see if we could spend some of that gift card but they didn't have the stuff we wanted in stock so we had to order it online. There was also nobody in the housewares department and I felt bad for the one guy in that half of the store because he couldn't leave his register to help anyone. On the main floor they had more people and the sales team there was nice, I think they just might have been short staffed upstairs. read more

No toilet paper , mess on the floor , no place to hang a coat or purse , box that holds the toilet paper is held together with duct tape I mean it's just awful!!! ZERO STARS! Don't shop here. Went to freshen up my husbands wardrobe. Picked out a few items and came across North Face Wanderer Polo. The one I grabbed had a price tag that was coming off. I thought it was just from another item that got stuck to it. The sticker said $120 but since it was partially not attached, I could see the suggested retail price was $55. Truly thought it was an error and just grabbed another shirt. But it had the same sticker over the suggested retail price for $120! Went to a cashier, thinking it was just mismarked and it rang as $120! Cashier offered no explanation or help as to why the item was scanning for more than double the price. Macys website offers.the shirt for $55. So does Amazon. I'll just buy it from Amazon. No surprise why some stores can't seem to stay open. I left empty handed and disgusted. read more

They don't pick up when you call or the numbers are unavailable, I've had to call multiple times and then call their management so they can call me back and get told no they can't change the price of an item because of the colors. In on a Sunday. Got some nice shirts, socks and underwear. Staff was helpful and friendly. Would have been four star, but there was dust and dirt everywhere, and the fitting room smelled like the high school locker room. Have been having a HUGE problem with an order that Macy's canceled and have been trying to get my gift card reimbursed for the amount that was on the card at the time $152.67. For unspecified reasons, Macy's canceled on 3/4 and, after three phone calls, still have a zero balance on my gift card as of 3/15. That is like someone taking cash out of your pocket and not returning it! Last call this evening a supervisor was supposed to call me back but never did. still out the money. NOT RIGHT. Purchased a sweater at Macy's in Danbury today.. Salesgirl did not ask if I would like to donate to a charity. It was for Black girls & UNCF?? ..The bill rounded out to the nearest dollar..Not realizing this, I swiped my card..When I looked at my receipt, I questioned it & she said she could not take the charge off my bill.. Then I started taking out items I wanted to returned, I had ordered online, and she sighs and says next time return it directly do not come to store for returns because we dont have place to store these items. I was there today and a Woman working in the men's department near the athletic wear was so rude to the buying customers that I had to get off the line. She was disrespectful and her tone was demeaning. I am surprised that she was not told where she could go and how to get there. I really wish a supervisor was there to see this. I don't care how bad your day is, you don't take it out on the customers. She was working today at 10:30 am. She needs to work in the stock room. Spent 40 minutes searching for coordinating bedding. There seemed to be nobody working. I saw an older gentleman who seemed to be just passing through or on a break but he did not offer help. I ended up sitting out front of store and placing order on my phone instead. I decided to return to the department to double check colors and accessories. It seems the man does work there and was avoiding helping me. When I asked him for help he responded to me in a disinterested tone and told me the item would have to be ordered online. I told him not to bother I had helped myself. I placed an order for expensive bedding and was prepared to spend much more but they were not interested in helping customers. I'm not sure whether to keep my online order or return it on principle. read more

This store is a hot mess and very unorganized and discombobulated it is so trashed the mens section has clothes strown here and there with all sorts of different sizes sprawled out. I love their cologne section where a few ladies always hook me up with several samples without having to purchase anything very friendly in this area but overall Macy's definitely needs an overhaul! read more

As far as I can tell, this Macy's is quite close in layout and content to the one in Colonie Center. But this one just has a better feel to it. Maybe it's just the layout being in a fancier mall. Or maybe it's because since I'm already in Connecticut, I'm already somewhat numb to "sticker shock" when I look at the price tags. Like just about any other Macy's I've visited, there will be some good deals (in men's clothing, it's typically their own brands) and many other things you can find at more competitive prices elsewhere. read more

This Macy's is one of the anchor stores in Danbury's mall and typically its well-kept and brightly lit. Traditional Macy's offerings with items that are a little nicer than your average Macy's (probably due to the socioeconomic state of nearby residents). Lots of parking right next to Macy's main entrances though mostly outdoor, not covered parking. read more

I recently placed an order online on Nov 8, 2020; to be picked up from the store in Danbury CT. Each time I checked on delivery status; it constantly said in transit. On Nov 23 I decided to call Macy's, I was told my order was being sent back to California. I asked why, I was told the shipping label to the store fell off; so they had to send back to Macy's in California. How could a shipping label just fall off. The merchandise I bought were all on sale. I don't believe Macy's had the items at all in any of their stores. I am sorry I wouldn't recommend this store for pickup of online shopping. read more

Worst shopping experience ever. We bought a dish-drying rack today from the housewares section which was unkempt and completely devoid of sales staff. The rack was on the clearance sale rack but when I checked out it rang up at full price. Needing a new rack, I bought it anyway. When we got home and opened the box, the rack was out of its original wrapping and had been clearly used...replete with dried water stains on the rack base. We then called to let the store know about this, and after being on hold for 30 minutes and speaking to one person who didn't know how to connect to the housewares department, were disconnected. I then called Macy's 1-800 number to complain and was offered a $10 gift certificate as an apology, even though the rack was $40. I asked for $20, thinking that was fair for a clearly used item but was told $15 was their maximum. I'm now on hold as the operator speaks to the store manager. Of course, I got transferred to a recorded message. So I KE eft a voicemail and not expecting to hear back. No wonder stores are going out of business. I should have used Amazon. read more

All I can say is signing up for a Macy's credit card was a terrible decision. They made it sound really good but when they tell you how much you'll save they don't tell you you have to wait for most of it in rebate form, which I haven't gotten yet about a month later. They say they have to wait 30 days to share your information but this was not honored- as soon as I got my card, I went from getting virtually no junk mail to receiving letters every day from several different marketing agencies which demand your full social security number if you want to stop receiving mail from them. No way am I giving them that. If this is happening to you, call 1-800-830-3087 and ask Macys to cease sharing of your information for any and all marketing purposes. Canceling the card alone will not stop the onslaught of scummy credit offers. None of this happened to me when I signed up for a Kohls charge card... I'd rather spend my money somewhere that has more respect for their customers' information. read more

Can some explain why the women's plus size department is in a dark corner with all the merchandise crammed together on racks like a bargain basement? I am ONLY leaving 4 stars because of the experience I had due to filing a complaint. I purchased a watch from this store as a gift for my brother for his birthday. I purchased it in July because it was something he said he really liked and I didn't want to risk it not being there in November for his birthday. Upon giving it to him for his birthday he decided it was not one that he really liked and wanted to return it. I went into the store on 12/11 to return it. It was in the original box with the original receipt. The lovely lady behind the counter was patient and offered to acknowledged me even though she was helping another customer. She promised she'd be right with me. She looked at the item, said she would complete the return in just a moment. Shortly after that, David, in the same department, came over, took a look at the watch and started to demean myself and insist that I had the watch altered and sized, when I simply purchased it and held it until my brothers birthday. While I kindly told David he was mistaken and that the item had not been sized, he rolled his eyes and handed me a bag and said nope, he wasn't taking it I was lying, and there was a 30 day return policy so he wasn't helping me. Basically I would get to keep a $200.00 watch because David thought I was a liar. I reached out through the Macy's website to file my complaint and was met promptly with a response from Michael, a member of management in the executive office at Macy's. He apologized profusely and told me I could come in later to meet him upstairs and he would process the return. Upon going back to the store I met with Michelle in the executive office, who apologized that Michael wasn't available and quickly assisted me with the return. She was personable and funny, and her manner was MUCH appreciated after the previous experience with David. I will definitely continue shopping here, especially because of the fast response I received. Michael let me know if I ever have any issues I can contact him directly, which is truly reassuring thing to offer. Kudos to Michelle and Michael. read more

Shopped at this Macy's today with my husband - found some great items. Brought up a pair of Buffalo jeans to purchase. We find out the tag is the wrong tag for the jeans- miss marked with an actual tag. We are told sorry we can't sell these clearance jeans for that price. I say "how did that tag get on those jeans". And I am told some employee must have done it. My question is - isn't the store supposed to honor the price tag? Only pair of jeans in my husbands size. And may I say- the woman was a total *itch. I don't typically find myself in Macy's that often because it's not a place I'd normally shop, but on a day where a friend of mine was looking for buy something for his mom, Macy's is where I ended up. Might as well make the best of it right? I'm always attracted to the watch section here. I don't know if it's because it's in the middle of the store or if it's because I envision myself in something that costs way too much, but in any case, I stopped by to look. The woman behind the counter was SUPER personable and very helpful when I asked about trying on a few watches. She asked me what my price range was if I was actually serious about getting one and met my needs tenfold. Usually I don't buy on instinct, especially with something pricey, but after she showed me an all gunmetal Movado, I was sold. After trying it on and deciding I couldn't leave without it, she patiently removed a few of the links from the watch while I waited around in the store. Another man came up in the middle of her performing the process and she acknowledged him so he wasn't left in the dust, assuring him she'd be right with him when finished fitting my watch for me. Great customer service. I had a great experience in the watch department and would buy again from this location. read more
