I recently went to the Danbury Mall and it's amazing to see all the updates and new stores such as Target and Barnes and Noble. I give it a continued 5 stars overall rating!

This is a beautiful clean Macy's store at the Danbury Fair mall. Service is good. It's important that stores are clean and look organized. Good store. Because this store part of the mall there's a lot of free parking.

Great store! In a great Mall. Awesome friendly service. Has 3+ levels. One of the better Macy's I've ever been to before.

Primark is an Irish retailer of affordable fashion for men, women and children. Other locations also carry home items, but not the Danbury location. They are very popular across the British Isles as well as several countries across Europe. The Primark in Danbury is part of the Danbury Fair Mall, the good news is you can access it as its own store, no need to go through the mall. This store is massive, there were so many shoes when we first walked in. There's hair accessories, purses and other small knickknacks. The clothes aren't super organized. The hangers are marked with various sizes, but they are actually all random sizes hung on random hangers. This was everywhere, same with the shoes. I am a bit selective when it comes to clothes shopping, I prefer my items to be mostly cotton. Cotton items were difficult to find or non existent at Primark. We spent two hours here and all I found were two items. Keeping in mind that they are a fast fashion retailer, the quality isn't always there. Loose strings, uneven stitching, unavailable sizes are all a part of the gamble. The wait to access a fitting room was surprisingly fast and efficient. The line to check out was long but moved fast, due to several open registers. I'm glad I experienced Primark, while they aren't for me, they might be for you. Marshalls, Target and Amazon are more accessible for me.

She made this into a whole argument in front of customers and screamed "why can't you just do an exchange." This can include a refresher on what we learn in kindergarten. Words hurt. But facial gestures can hurt too. Customers don't like to feel disrespected. But I don't want anyone to get in trouble so I won't specifically mention time, day, or the actual person. Here's what happened to me the other day. It is subtle but I was embarrassed to the point that I won't go back. I was checking out an item and the clerk asked me how I was paying. "With a store credit card," I replied then placed the "card" on the counter that a different clerk gave me earlier when I returned something which was on sale. The clerk rolled her eyes, pursed her lips and looked at me for a few seconds, pausing and staring. I didn't understand the delay but realized later she was waiting for a "store" credit card, I think. Still not sure actually. Then she said: "This is NOT a store credit card," emphasizing the "NOT." It's a merchandise credit" then stared at me. Not sure why she paused, nor felt it necessary to educate me on retail lingo. It was clear to both of us I was using the "card" to pay for my item and it didn't matter what I called it. I was embarrassed because another customer heard this exchange and I don't like being scolded, particularly awkward because I was the oldest girl in the store, perhaps old enough to be the clerk's Mom.

I was within my rights as a customer and not only did she handle items that belonged to me by picking them up to remove them from where I was standing so she could throw them out of the store, but she repeatedly said "get out" when all I did was stand at the counter to process my return. The original receipt that I was given at that Garage store location was printed with low ink and apparently had a slight space in the bar code which she said was not her problem and she refused to help me with the return. How is a customer responsible for an original receipt that was given to them upon purchase? She embarrassed me, singled me out, and tried to intimidate me so I wouldn't process my return. I had the original receipt, it was within my 30 days, and the items were unworn with original tags. I was within my rights. I have never been treated with such verbal abuse as a customer. What kind of company would employee such a rude person that singles out customers and intimidates them. I drove 20 miles to do this return in person. I created a case number with customer service about this incident and have not gotten the return call that was promised. This store is a HUGE disappointment. You cannot trust that you will be treated fairly as a customer, beware when you shop there.

But....what's weird here is that when we came looking for some clothes, they had a selection that rivaled Macy's and Old Navy (where we also went that day) and we ended up buying more stuff here than anywhere else. That's definitely a positive...it's nice to see they're still stocking the store, at least in men's wear. The mall has already lost Sears and Lord & Taylor, so it would be sad to see another anchor close. On the less positive side, it's hard to find people who work here. There are centralized cash registers and the cashiers really can't leave that area because they have to ring up customers. I've been in the store twice in recent memory and have never seen an associate on the floor. For me, that's not a big deal but for others who might need assistance, it's a drawback. It's clear they're trying to cut costs by keeping staffing to a bare minimum but I think they might be able to boost sales if they had sales people on the floor. If you need some men's clothes, this is a decent option in Danbury.

The selections had quite a variety, with many brands that rang a bell and some others not. The men's department carried quite a decent amount which I was pretty thrilled with. I found myself checking some items one by one. For killing time, you can't go wrong with doing that. The number of employees found on the sales floor is crazy, none to be found with many at the register. It would be awesome to see an improvement with more staffing, for those who need assistance. There are three main entrances, two in the main hallway upper and lower, and one on the upper level at the food court.

An example is you go try on the tux - come out and the sales person who you were dealing with - they are now working with a different customer on the other side of the store. One sales woman was in the middle of taking my measurements - she says in front of me to another sales woman: "Can you take him? I have to go" as if leaving her shift - going home for the day. But then I watched the same woman do it again to another customer. I have never seen this before. I feel they are cavalier and unprofessional. I went on a Friday evening and the gentleman who helped was great. He immediately measured me rather than guessing at sizes and I think that's a great start. I was able to find a couple of jackets I liked along with some trousers. They didn't have one of the pants I liked in stock in my size, so he ordered it to come to the store. The only disappointing thing was that there wasn't a sale going on. I was hoping the Friday before Easter there might be something, but no luck. The jackets and pants I got needed some slight alterations, so I'll be back next week to pick everything up and try it on. I'm not anticipating any issues but I'll update if anything changes. I'll also note that is was quite busy and the two people working there were able to manage all the different groups of customers effectively. I did hear some guys say they had an appointment for a fitting, so that's a nice service they offer. It's getting to be prom season so there were a lot of high schoolers getting ready to get dressed up. I'm glad that's still a thing!
