The place to get fresh meat from a farm. Definitely me and my family go to place. Customer service is top notch if any issues they will take care of it with no problem. read more

I ordered the Cowboy Stash and let me tell you it is worth it. They made sure to pack a variety of meats, fish, bone broth. It was like getting a little bit of everything. The quality is amazing. What sets Primal Pastures apart is their beef is grass-fed and grass-finished. I love that I can support local and they are ethical about the way they raise their livestock. read more

They claim everything is Organic but none of the stuff I have received have Organic label on it . Their label does have regular required USDA stamp but no "Organic" wording anywhere on any labels. The product labeled "Fresh Pork Hock" advertised the same way on their website was soaked in some fake smoked flavor and tasted salty. The meat was dark on surface and inside as what you get from marinating by fake smoked flavor. Far from any red color fresh meat you see in any supermarket. It might be some low quality stuff they buy god knows where and are just flipping it for profit. The hock was also skinned and chopped to slices (unlike what was advertised), which again indicates lots of processing and not something you would expect from fresh pasture where they are focusing on meat production and not on meat processing. They also offer fish which would again indicate that they resell whatever they can buy cheap from somebody and flip for profit. read more

ordered here for the first time, and have ordered from other games as well. This is my new favorite, but now the brisket (to die for) is out of stock. I also used their paleo ground beef in a bolognese recipe and absolutely loved it. It was my first time cooking with organ meats, so I was a bit nervous I wouldn't like the flavor. impressive all around!! read more

I ordered just chicken skins as I like to crisp them in the oven and eat them as a snack, so it is the skins I am reviewing. I will most likely order more as they seem to be hard to find, but I guess my only disappointment was they looked to be scraped of the fat as well - which is what makes them best. I do keto diet and fat is the driver of this diet. They are still good and if you like crisp chicken skins, I would recommend these as a good option. read more

I love supporting local privately owned businesses. So this Christmas I ordered 3 gift cards from Primal Pastures. It was so easy online and my kids were beyond excited to receive them as their Christmas gifts. Primal Pastures has organic, humanely grown meat and so much more. Order on line or go directly to their farm. You won't be disappointed. read more

I found Primal Pastures online when searching for antibiotic-free, grass fed proteins. So far our first order has been great. Their chickens are phenomenal and we've tried their steaks as well. The meat had great grass-fed flavor and was perfect on the grill. Also, I tend to react negatively to conventional proteins (rash/skin issues especially with chicken) and I experienced no adverse effects from Primal Pastures. That was my main reason for trying them out & I'm so glad I did. We haven't tried the other items we ordered yet, but we're very much looking forward to chowing down soon! The delivery was super quick since we're in Los Angeles and everything was packed with care. Primal Pastures will be our staple going forward for all of our meats! read more

I recently ordered some meats from Primal Pastures and it tasted great. I would definitely recommend using them for all your meats as they raise good quality meat. read more

Quality of meat is hands down amazing! Ordering and delivery is simple and efficient. Worth every penny! Will be ordering from Primal Pastures again!!! Can't wait for my next box to show up on my doorstep! read more

We were very disappointed with our box. For a small meat box that cost us over 300.00 dollars, we expected to have at least some pieces that were of high qualit. Our meat was tough, grisly and flavorless. we tried cooking the steaks rare, tough and sinew. we slow cooked the roast for 8 hours and we couldn't even cut through it. Even our filets were tough. I support their belief in pasture raised, ethically raised meat, but we will not be ordering again. read more

I got a turkey from them and it was the best turkey I've ever had! The prices are a little high but can't beat the quality.

Happy with my first order with Primal Pasture. Will order again very soon. The quality of the meat is great!

I love that Primal Pastures is doing it au natural, and despite the prices being high, it's well worth my health. I drove an hour to get there which is fine since there isn't any others near where I live. When I pulled up to the property I loved it. While the surrounding area kind of sucks (not their fault at all since the neighbors don't take care of their land...hint for those people...) I took the sourdough making class and that could be better--like how to do it instead of just explaining and answer questions. One learns better applying it than just listening. I'll be back for gardening classes and picking up meat. read more

Primal Pastures are the answer to my search for clean organ meats. The packaging perfection and right on time exactly as ordered. Well done! Thanks. read more

Awesome team of individuals that run this farm. Ordered a food pick up. The quality of the meat is what makes it worth it. Support them, I know I will be ordering again. Not only is the meat good but the raw honey is amazing too. The farm tour is also a great experience for kids. read more

Primal Pastures brings new depth to the farm to table movement - Instead of taking the farm to you at a local market - they take YOU to the farm! Their mission is education and the sustainable growth of premium pasture raised animals for. Thier tour focus on the problems with modern meat production - and how recapturing the core of pasture raised animals from 100 ago and beyond can produce more nutrient rich, better tasting meat that is is environmentally beneficial, not destructive. They offer weekly tours, appointment only tours, camps and workshops that focus on sustainable human food creation and farming practices. This is a very small working farm - not a petting zoo or a show - so the tour is real - you step in mud - and all the other wonderful things you hope to find in a pasture. My kids all learned something, and enjoyed the tour. They also feature a small barn/shop where you can buy their meats & eggs as well as meat honey and other natural products that they feel are raised to their ethical and quality standards. Thier foods are pristine - but their prices reflect that. Do not expect 'vons club' discounts here. Online ordering is an option if you do not want to make the trek - they will ship meats to your home. They offer classes in what they describe as 'humain' butchering as well for those interested in raising their own meat. Loved the tri tip! Delivery was fast. Ordering was easy. Everything was packaged and kept frozen.

I am a return customer to Primal Pastures. Have ordered a variety of lamb, chicken and beef cuts. The quality is exceptional and worth the cost. If you want local, grass fed meat, this is a great resource to consider. Orders are processed quickly and I have yet to find anything I didn't like about the selection and quality of the meats. read more

This farm has been doing things right since the very beginning. Direct farm to table, total transparency in how they raise their animals, and the most delicious and nutritious chicken my family has ever had. We moved out of CA but we STILL order from Primal Pastures because we haven't found anything near as good that's local. Their farming practices are an example to the world, and when you support them, you are supporting real people - a family - not some faceless corporation. We LOVE Primal Pastures. read more

Love ordering my chicken breast from here!!! I love the salmon too. My order came on time and I'm looking forward to visiting the farm.

We took a tour of primal pastures and the staff were amazing! My 3.5 year old loved seeing the animals and playing on the wide open land. Their story, their products and mission are something I believe strongly in. They are great for our community! read more

I've been eager to move away from factory farmed meat for a long time but found that living in Southern California it was near impossible. The culture down here doesn't support hunting and the big cities aren't abundant with farms. I would buy "Organic grass fed" meat from the grocery store, but I still didn't feel good about it. I don't actually know where it's coming from and I was never confident that "organic grass fed" actually meant legally what they were implying. Finally, I decided to research local farms to bring myself closer to my meat. I'm also vehemently passionate about regenerative farming and that was the main criteria with which I chose this farm. Besides my moral satisfaction, the product is amazing. I ordered a whole chicken, a Cornish hen cross, and honey. Ive been wanting local honey for my husbands allergies and I've always wanted to try a Cornish chicken. The order was timely and of quality I could see right away from the color, feel, and finally taste of the meat. It may be a bit pricier than your local grocery store, but there's good reason for that. I'm happy to pay. I roasted the hen and the chicken, Fed them to my family, and then made a bone broth from the carcasses. My husband is from Wisconsin where they have honeycomb farms, and the minute he tasted the honey he knew that it was real and he's been so happy with it. He eats spoonfuls every morning. They have a variety of products that I can't wait to explore. I highly recommend. read more

Absolutely love this company! My family and I did a farm tour a couple years ago. We got to see how stellar their Farm practices are. We've been shopping with primal pastures for 7 years and have never been disappointed. Love the meat, bones, seafood, honey, and best coffee ever! Thank you Primal Pastures. read more

My wife and I stopped eating meat over 5 years ago because we learned too much about the US meat industry and its practices and made a decision to no longer contribute to it. We knew we would one day eat meat again, but only under very specific circumstances where we can be very sure of not just the source of the product, but also of the methodologies used in raising the animals and caring for the land. Additionally, we wanted to ensure that the overall values of the farmers align with ours. After spending quite some time researching as best as we can, we definitively landed upon Primal Pastures. We started eating meat again (poultry only) from Primal Pastures a few weeks ago and it has been a delight to be able to eat meat knowing exactly where it came from and how it sustainably raised. I'm truly grateful for Primal Pastures because I don't think I would have started back eating meat if I hadn't discovered them. I'm hoping to be a customer of there's for a long time. read more

I purchased a Black Friday box deal. It arrived quickly, and was packed extremely well (dry ice, insulated box). Everything tastes delicious! You can't beat farm fresh! read more

I found their customer service to be lousy. I very much agree with the way their meat is raised and I'm sure it was good quality but when I called to ask some questions they were very rude. I wouldn't tell anyone to shop with them. They think what they do is the best and therefore act stuck up and rude. read more

I feel so much better ordering my meats from Primal Pastures. I was a former vegan and once I visited their farm. Which I highly recommend you do their farm tour. I was okay trying meat again since I could see how humanely they raise their animals and how healthy they are. I love their whole chickens the most and really love the leg of lamb and ground lamb too. Their steaks can be a bit in the tough side, but everything else is great. read more

I absolutely love this place, love the people, love what they stand for and best of all--their meat is honestly just the best. It really is the best chicken I've ever had. Their value boxes are a great value - I always get way more than anticipated. Their bone broth is absolutely *phenomenal.* I had some shipping issues that their customer care team was very attentive to and helped resolve. My interest in their products stemmed from wanting to source meat humanely as well as for health benefits of truly pasture-raised, humanely treated animals as a food source. I have been impressed from start to finish, complete with the open house farm tours they coordinate to educate the public as well as let you see for yourself how they operate. They even brought in a farmer from another local farm in order to sell fresh pasture-raised eggs on site for the tour. There are so many reasons to say yes to this place--healthier food, healthier and well-treated animals, small and local business, farmers, regenerative farming/better for the environment. It is very reasonably priced when you buy in bulk compared to what you'd get at your supermarket for grass fed meat. Check them out, they are lovely! read more

Great communication and timely delivery on first order. Meat was amazing and will order again for sure!

Very poor customer service only 1 star. Primal Pastures dream of producing premium grade, healthy and happy pastured poultry pastured pork sounds very good business plan, unless the meat is not edible and no there is no customer service. I ordered a fully cooked smoked ham in December for Easter. On Easter I defrosted it and warmed it up. When I tried the ham it was way over salted and inedible. The entire family tried the ham and not one person said it tasted good. What a letdown and ruined our Easter dinner. I was so excited for the ham (my favorite meat). I know hams are cured in a salt brine, but this one was off the charts. A 3.5 lb $55 ham wasted. The week after Easter I sent Primal Pastures an email and left a phone message about my Ham experience, assuming a quality company would stand behind their product and give me a refund or credit for another product, but I got no customer service response. Sounds like a lot of people have a better experience with the other meats they offer. Just would have been nice to have some kind of customer service response in regards to my complaint. I usually buy a Newsome Kentucky Gourmet BBQ Ham, which by far has a much better texture and taste. read more

You can really feel and taste the quality from the products these guys produce. Respect for the animal and sustainable practices makes this the only place I will go to for my poultry products from now on. The whole chicken is amazing, as well as the thighs and the ground chicken. Hats off to the purveyors of this operation, keep it up boys! read more

Let me start off by saying, if this company simply responded and acknowledged my e-mail regarding my disappointing first time experience, I wouldn't be writing this review. I wanted to give them a second chance, however one week later I have been yet to receive an acknowledgement or response to my email. I placed my first order for about $133 with Primal Pastures a couple weeks ago, and per the website and checkout process, was told my order would arrive the upcoming Thursday. Around 5:00 P.M. Thursday, my package has still not arrived, so I called to follow up. The gentleman on the other line apologized saying my order was never "tagged," and nonchalantly asked if they could deliver it the following week, which means I would end up receiving my order 2 weeks after it was originally placed. I was not happy with that alternative. I cancelled my order, explained this was my first experience as a customer with them and this is pretty disappointing. Attempting to offer some sort of alternative resolve, I e-mailed them, kindly explaining my situation and asked for some sort of promo code to use on a future order for not delivering on their word and inconvenience caused (I was relying on my delivery for dinner plans that night, in addition the next day I was going out of town and was looking forward to having stocked up items of what I needed upon my return). Never heard anything back from them. Keep my experience in mind when committing yourself to this company, should you ever have an issue they will NOT be responsive or deliver on customer service. read more

Amazing food. High quality, and grateful it doesn't make me sick. Terrible, terrible customer service. Very rude and unprofessional. There isn't a number to call and reach them! They asked me to give them some feedback via email, so I did, and I let them know that I wasn't happy about how I was treated when I came to the farm to pick up some eggs. I also added that a phone number would've been great to contact them. I instantly got a return email of, "we don't recall anything of the sort." Naturally, I had to type an essay of an email to explain precisely what happened. Did they ever get back to me? Of course not. There are plenty of these "special" farms where I can order all the grass fed meat and corn/soy free chicken I want. Heck, even when I picked up the eggs, it was over 60 bucks for two flats!! For another 45 minute drive, I recommend going up to Happy Hens in Ramona where you can get the same quality eggs, if not higher, for literally half the price, and sometimes even as amazing as 6.00 for a whole flat! Let's just say, if this new business wants to succeed, they must learn that customer satisfaction is always number one. read more
