I had to move from a third floor walk up apartment into a house and contacted Priestley & Sons. They responded quickly and were able to send someone out to give me an estimate. We went ahead and scheduled our move with a 3 man team. The truck showed up right on time on moving day and the guys went straight to business. They wrapped all the furniture and loaded everything down and into the truck at an astonishing speed, even our 180 lb elliptical. Unloading the truck went just as fast. They finished the job in less time than estimated, and all of our things were delivered undamaged. On top of all that, all 3 guys were friendly and professional. I'd definitely recommend these guys and will use them if/when I need to move again in the future.

    26' truck.

Chris said he would make it as it was and it would not cost us anything including, if necessary helping us with our move.

I should have just gotten my friends and a uhaul to move, but i was promised it would take 5hrs. i was billed 5.5hrs. tip top of the money i had left. and they didn't even have time to move everything. why? because their recklessness with my things i didn't want them carrying my computer monitors. they were hired to pack and move stuff across portland. they came at 1:30 when they said only to tell me that they didn't know they needed all the packing stuff. they eventually arrived nearly 2hrs later and towards the END Of the original window i was promised without any 'hey we will be there at this ETA' they said they got stuck behind a train, which is fine i guess? but no update after that until i called and complained, which got me a 5% discount, which is nice i guess? but like everything that happened after were MASSIVE red flags, both for the computer and the 'movers' which felt like contractors they just hired for whatever without properly vetting. i had a small move, 2 rooms. they were the slowest movers and most reckless movers i've ever hired. but i don't really blame them fully for that. supposedly they were working since 8am and just drove up from salem or something. they didn't even eat lunch. is that even legal?! no wonder they came to the door exhausted already and out of it. These 2 guys did the best they could, but honestly with how exhausted I was from helping them (something i SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO DO), they were doing a good job, but that doesn't really matter. in the end this guy ruined my 2000 custom built standing desk for music. not sure if i can get it repaired or fixed. he undid it and said he will put it back together. it was pretty easy just a few bolts into the joints between the wooden top and the legs and putting on the keyboard tray. easy stuff for the most part (when you have a drill, i don't own one). this guy didn't even look at where he was drilling or understand how the desk was put together after showing him specific things. he just drilled in the bolts and they hit a part that they're supposed to go into but was put in backwards making it impossible (on purpose) to get the screw in. this guy just kept drilling harder and harder and when i asked him about it he was like yeah it's supposed to sound like that. He either was so exhausted he couldn't think straight or just took on tasks he could have said 'yeah i don't know how to do that, can you do it?' either way now i have a broken desk that's only partially built and put together. i am really glad i moved all of my expensive stuff to my place with a friend last weekend, because they definitely would have broken a lot of very expensive things! I also gave them a mattress cover to put on the mattress, and they struggled doing that. You are movers wtf?! i zipped it up about half way and moved on. Then when we got to my new place they didn't even use it and put the mattress on the pavement to get a better angle or something. like what was the point in bringing it?! They also dropped a bunch of precious memories i had in a bin in a bin, they said they took them out because the outer bin couldn't close (bs). They were holding it open wrapped around their arm and i asked them to close it as it doesn't look secure and he said it would be fine, then immediately drops it with pictures and papers dropping on the ground and getting dirty. Anyway this all just happened. and there's no way I can live in my new place due to the lack of time they afforded to me to actually place things in the right spot. At least my bed is in the right spot. luckily for now i am in a short term rental because my last place had mold and why I am moving. i am highly allergic and being there as long as i did, both to wait for them to show up and how slowly they worked on loading the truck, I am feeling sick again because of it. The estimate was low balled to say the least because these guys move at a snails pace because this company overworks them and treats likely their staff like crap. these are probably more desperate people looking for an easy pay day. one guy was like 'i worked 4 days this month' and the other one worked 6 days in a row. a 12 hr day without a break outside of driving (which isn't a break) isn't really fair or legal? I paid nearly 1k for this move, and you can't afford to give these people a proper break between moves? I'm sure they weren't making nearly enough either. Lastly they pressured me to sign a thing at the end of the receipt that says everything was delivered intact, which i didn't sign. Anyway go with another company, not worth the risk. I didn't have another weekend to do this move as i need to have a livable space and that takes time as well. Anyway the movers were careless, slow, expensive, and ignored instructions.

The job was to move my furniture off my old carpet that I'd had for over 20 years and remove it to the dumpster downstairs. I had a new, Ruggable rug going down in its place. But first I had a bit of clean up to do. As I was sweeping 20 years worth of dirt, cat litter and car hair up from the perimeters that I hadn't seen in decades, it really wasn't as bad as I had imagined. The guys asked me if they wanted them to open and assemble another piece of furniture I had sitting out in the hallway while they were waiting for me to clean up the floor. I told them I would be very grateful if they would do that. It took them mere minutes. And I am very thankful that they did that. I finished my cleaning and they got to work on laying the rug. A Ruggable isn't a normal rug. It's got two pads that line up side by side and then the rug is laid down on top pressing out wrinkles as you go. It's kind of tedious. But I got the softest padding and they did a great job laying the rug. It's beautiful. I love it. And I love these guys. They took such care with my furniture and moved everything right back to where it belonged. Their rates are the best. So much so I booked them to move my old futon out of here and move up my new loveseat. Unfortunately, an unforeseen emergency came up which is completely understandable. I appreciate all you've done for me. Sending love. 2025 - Review #8

When I originally hired them I opted to have them move her only, but asked if I could add packing later. They said that would not be a problem and quoted me $150. I did finally reach out to them and asked them to include packing, however, when I asked they said their packers were busy but they could contract it out, and now it is $250. I said that was fine and scheduled the packers to come to my mom's apartment the day before the move. The morning they were supposed to show up to pack, I got a text asking if they could pack and move her on the same day due to the pandemic. I told them it was fine and asked when they packers would be there the next morning, to which they replied 9 - 11. The packers, who were not contracted from another company, but were also the movers showed up around 1230. So the extra hundred I paid because their packers were booked was not true. My mother had packed over half her apartment, and all of her kitchen prior to their arrival. They did not have a lot to pack, seeing it was a 700 sq foot apartment, but they did not finish until close to 6 pm. When they finally arrived at the house they asked if they could just put all the boxes in the garage My brother told them they were going to need to bring it in the house. While we unpacked the boxes that were packed by the movers, we noticed several things were wrong. One they placed my moms all in one computer in a box with a step stool with no wrapping. It was literally sticking out of the box with the step stool, I actually took a picture of that. They also packed a bunch of canned cherries and my mom shark vacuum in a box together and did not do a good job taping the bottom. The box broke when my brother tried to move it and shattered two jars of cherries on the floor. Of course they didn't offer to clean it up, so we did and I cut my hand on broken glass. I will say that the two guys that showed up were very nice to my mother, but I would never hire these folks again, nor would I ever recommend them.
