This was no small task - A giant 60 foot Red Oak toppled during the rainstorm at our NW Austin home following Hurricane Harvey - root ball and all pulled right out of the ground. A separate company hauled the tree away, but left the giant stump half in the ground (thanks). After getting several quotes that were THOUSANDS of dollars more expensive, Priced Right Stump Grinding was the obvious choice. Chuck arrived early on the day of the work, and literally did the entire job himself in 7 hours! Other bids said it would take a crew of guys that much time (hence the higher bids). Chuck came out to my property in Spicewood and was able to work through some difficult stumps due to needing to get into some tight spots and a steep incline. He really tried to get the ones he could and worked creatively to get his equipment safely into the right spots. Easy to contact and schedule visit. Estimate that was given over the phone was spot on and the job went smoothly. I called these fellows for a last minute job- and left a voicemail. Got a call back within hours, and scheduled an appointment for less than 48 hrs later. Chuck showed up as promised and within a matter of minutes he was finished removing two stumps. He was courteous, professional, and hard working. I had called about three nasty shrub stumps that I had no energy to deal with. It was a small job but Chuck came out and was super friendly and accommodating to what we wanted done! Priced Right Stump Grinding did an excellent job. He was careful to do due diligence before the job. We have a junction box next to the stump. He had us check with 811 to be sure there were no underground lines that would be in danger. On the day of the job he arrived in the morning. I had a stump that needed removal. I called and spoke with Ray who gave me a reasonable bid. These guys stay busy and Ray told me that he could get me in on Friday, but later called me and said that it looked like he could squeeze me in on Thursday. Thursday Chuck showed up, was very polite and explained that I would be left with the mulch and he would go 4-6 inches below grade. When he was finished he raked the mulch in the hole, made sure the area was clean, and charged me as quoted. These guys are professional and well mannered. I highly recommend them. read more

Highly recommend! A massive stump was left behind after I cut down an old hackberry tree on our property. I called Ray and Chuck, got a fair estimate, and scheduled them to come grind it down. Chuck showed up exactly when we agreed, explained how it worked, and got to grinding. Chuck Smith came to my home in Austin to remove a stump of a recently felled tree so we could replace our sewer lateral. The stump was extremely dense, hardwood. It was located about 4 inches from a cold water intake pipe close to the house. Chuck considered the limitations and need for caution and need to remove as much of the stump as possible and dig as deep as possible. It was a very tricky job. Two plumbers were also in the pow wow about this job and we all came to the conclusion of what needed to be done. It would have been nice, if the stump was softer wood, for chuck to use his ax near the pipe, but that was clearly not an option. Chuck communicated with us thoroughly about every aspect of this job before he started grinding with his big grinding machine. He approached the stump from two angles, paying close attention to that pipe. He did an awesome job, and the plumbers were please, as was I. It was a good experience and I'm very glad we were turned on to Chuck. Chuck was recommended by my tree trimmer/feller I've worked with for years, Alex Montoya. I couldn't have asked for a better job. Chuck really knows his stuff. I highly recommend him and his company. read more
