It's always hard to find a mechanic who's both skilled and honest. It's usually always one or the other in the car repair game. Bill, the owner of prevention auto care is both. He also has excellent staff under his wing that are just as good when Bill the zen master is away You will not go wrong with this shop. I've been going here since 1994 and have never had any bad experiences. Now that I'm older I own a car rental business and send all of my cars to bill. He doesn't lag either which is such a big thing with me! read more

We visited Bill at Prevention Auto Care after our car wouldn't start and AAA said that the battery was ok. We thought a new alternator may be needed, but Bill ran some diagnostics and found that the battery was the culprit. Bill even offerred for AAA to come replace the battery at the shop, which they did. Even better, Bill did not charge us for the diagnostic service. In summary, Bill was honest, reliable and clearly communicated throughout the process. read more

I'm really sad that we moved out of the area because I have to find a new mechanic who is as good as Bill. I first found his shop when I was calling different places for quotes on replacing my catalytic converter. Bill gave me the most reasonable quote by a landslide! Since then, I've went to him every time to get my oil change or had any other car issues. Bill was always very helpful and honest with us, without ever trying to upsell anything. Definitely recommend! read more

I normally don't write reviews, but this place truly deserves a good rating. I typically go to the dealership to get my oil changed, but not anymore. I was referred to Billy by the person who took care of my window repair next door. I have been here several times to get my oil changed and Billy and his staff (Nacho) have went above and beyond and given my car a thorough inspection. They are trustworthy, honest, and don't try to rip you off, therefore they have gained a loyal customer from my mom and I. It a drive for me to come here to get my car serviced, but with their efficiency and reliability, this will be my go-to mechanic shop. read more

Nice and very honest guy. Very reasonable price. Highly recommended. For those who need a person to take care of car, go this place.

I moved to La Puente less than a year ago. I was scouring the West Covina neighborhood for a mechanic. I stumble upon Prevention Auto Care. Bill took my car in and fix the problem in no time. Since then I had always come back. Last job was changing the front brakes, little skeptic because the make of my car. He did an outstanding job, in no time again!! I couldn't be happier. Hard to find professionals like him. Now I know that I can trust him completely and I will highly recommend his business. read more

I've been going to Prevention Auto Care for as long as I can remember. Bill does amazing work and will tell you exactly what needs to be done on your car. He always says this is whats wrong with your car instead of saying that multiple things are wrong when only one thing is wrong. He is always upfront and honest in what he does. He doesn't give you the run around and doesn't try to screw you out of money. I've never had a problem with my car having a problem after the problem was fixed. The only problem I have is that when he says he will call you about your car to tell you whats wrong with it, but he doesn't call. You just have to know to call him the next day to find out what is wrong with the car. And you just have to know that if you want it fixed today then you have to stay at Prevention Auto Care until the car is fixed unless they can't fix it that day read more

"Stick with the best!" Says their magnet on the fridge. Well it's true, Bill was very helpful and was able to fix my shaky, used 2005 Nissan Altima. Fixed my left and right engine mount, replaced my oil for its leaks, and brakes. My car runs extremely smoother and I couldn't be any happier! read more

Prevention Auto care is a great place whenever I have to fix something on my car It is always taken care of at a reasonable price I would recommend prevention auto care to anyone Bill is very helpful when it comes to fixing my car and most importantly he always gets the job done fast. read more

I absolutely love working with bill every time I have to take my car in. I love the fact that he pretty much can fix any brand of car like my Porsche Boxster for example. He knows the little nuances to the car such as lifting this tiny little tab in the trunk no one knows about to fill the coolant straight to the motor or just to top off the resovoir. That's such a great convenience to me that he's competent not just with the regular toyotas and hondas, but the higher end vehicles as well. There definitely needs to be more preventive auto locations everywhere! read more

My husband and I were referred here by a smog shop nearby and it was just an awful experience. My husband was first told the problem was that he needed a new gas cap. Billy suggested we get it from the dealer- fine done. Not even a day goes by and the fuel cap light comes back on along with the check engine light. He takes it back to this shop. Billy said it's this other part and we say fine order it and let's get the car fixed. We get the car back AGAIN the fuel cap light and check engine light comes back on. I told my husband let's just take it to the dealer clearly this man can't find the correct problem and I'm getting tired of paying for things obviously the car doesn't need. My husband took the car to the dealer yesterday and they find the actual problem- a leak. The mechanic at the dealer said the "part" that was put in by Billy and his shop wasn't even needed. Had absolutely nothing to do with the cars issue. Billy had told my husband if he brought the report from the dealer he'd refund back the money we had spent on the useless part. My husband just left Billy's do you think gave him a refund. Nope of course not. Horrible experience. I will be going to the smog shop and suggest to him he probably shouldn't be referring his customers to a shop with a mechanic who clearly doesn't know what he's doing. read more

I was recommended to have my car serviced at Prevention Auto Care on Nogales St. It was the best recommendation yet. Bill and Jojo were very friendly and efficient as were the rest of their team. I will definitely come back to this shop for any service that my vehicle will need in the future. Finally an honest and reliable mechanic! Thank you! read more
