I had a really great experience with Fan and Toby, and I truly appreciate all their help today. Fan personally drove out to help me when my car suddenly died and got it started with a jump. Unfortunately, the car died again shortly afterward, so Fan came back again and brought a new battery to get me back on the road. Since Fan speaks Cantonese, it was also much easier for me to communicate with him. After that, I drove the car back to the shop, where Toby carefully checked the car and made sure everything was working properly. I really appreciate Fan going out of his way to come help me, coming back again when the first jump didn't solve the problem, and helping me get a new battery. I also want to thank Toby for taking the time to carefully inspect my car afterward. Thank you, Fan and Toby, for helping me when I really needed it. I truly appreciate it! read more

So very pleased with this place! It's my go-to for all my car troubles and oil changes. They are so kind and always trustworthy and recommend this place to anyone looking for a fast service! read more

They just did my brakes recently and I told them to do all 4. I left the car there and picked it up later and when I got back they only charged me for the front brakes. They said the back still had some life which is very honest because I had told them to change all 4! It has in fact half life left. I would trust this place not to mention they use oem parts and give you a great price. 5 stars read more

Very reliable I would say.. given how much I know about cars they seem like trust worthy, honest people who'd get the job done on time. Or at least in a very reasonable range of time. Got my oil changed here and brake pad replaced. Total was a little over 300.. synthetic oil too. I'll come back for all future works. They speak mandarin very well and will show you what is wrong with your car rather than just tell you it's pricey. read more

Toyo Star - Waiting area. Hilarious readings. - Auto Repair Near Me - Rowland Heights, California

Needed a quick oil change. They said 45min to 1hr. Service was fast, probably because there wasn't many cars there. Thought there would be more cars with such a high Yelp rating. The price of oil change has gone up a lot as an industry, more than double during the pandemic. However, their price is reasonable. read more

Wow I can't express how happy I found Toyo Star! They are so quick to service my car, so honest and they are so reasonable with their prices! As a woman it's hard to find a good mechanic shop that won't try to screw you over but Toyo Star doesn't do that. They're very honest and feel so comfortable bringing my car here. Highly recommend if you need anything for your vehicle! You're truly in amazing hands with them! =) read more

I've been their customer since 2009. I didn't know cars much, but they always served my 2004 Camry well. Now I have much more knowledge about cars and I change the oil filter and air filter myself, but for more complex jobs or anything I'm not sure about, I always go back to them. Their price is always reasonable, and they only use quality parts. For most parts they only use OEM, but for some parts, they use 3 parties that the quality is better than OEM. And they will let you know if it is OEM or not. All in all, I've trusted them for many years and never feel disappointed. read more

Brought our 2020 vehicle in for a simple oil change. 6 days later car is putting out white smoke, the check engine light came on, and error message displayed on the screen that stated 'malfunction in the electronic control of the engine, throttle, or automatic transmission has been detected. Contact dealer.' Took car to Longo Toyota, and they asked who we had do oil service, because it was 2 quarts over. So we ended up paying the dealer to correct the issue. In all the years we've had cars, never had someone overfill oil. Disappointing service. Won't be back. read more

Great service- fast and efficient. Located in front of the auto repair plaza, very easy to find. The people are friendly and work really fast. The wait for oil change is usually 45 mins, unless other people are ahead of you, it may take up to a little over 1 hour. Price is fair and from my experience, they will inform me on price before they do any services. They would let me know any issues that may be with the car but never try to sell me on any unnecessary services. read more

Their car is very bad. I went to their car shop for maintenance, but the problems kept coming. I spent almost $500 on the tire light, but it came back on within a month. They charged me over $500 to replace 2 brake pads. The car was fine when I sent it to them, but the next day after I got it back, the window remote control didn't work. I went to them and they said it was broken and it would cost over $400. The oldest man in their car had the same car as mine. I saw them swapping parts from that old man's car with my car. I suspect they put all the broken parts from that old man on my car. I have an old Toyota car, and it had many big and small problems after I went to their car shop for maintenance. I spent over $2,000 on repairs in a month, but the car got worse and worse. read more

Came in for a quick oil change. Talked to guy working and ask for pricing. Gave me one price and when car was done, charged me another price. I guess that's common. The owners and service reps were not friendly at all with a "I'm too good for you" attitude. I know it s an oil change but vibe and atmosphere was so unprofessional and dire. I won't be back, however there is another shop in the same plaza that I think I might try next time. read more

I love coming here for an oil change! They are always so quick and whenever I come, I call ahead to ask for wait times or when will be a good time to stop by for an oil change. Usually they tell me a time and when I come, no wait! It took less than 30 minutes. Love coming here! read more

Friendly, quick, and professional. No upsales, no beating around the bushes, and no technique to squeeze extra dollars from me. I recommended this place. I just love a business who understands that an extra $100.00 or so would not have made him a rich man, nor made me a poor person. But it made me feel very good and satisfied. read more

Like eating a healthy diet and exercising, routine maintenence on your car is pretty essential if you're looking for a car built for the long haul. If you're like me and know very little about maintenance and car set ups, I recommend coming here for your maintenance and general upkeep of your ride. They deal mostly with Toyota and Lexus, but these guys have so many miles on their resume that they can identify and fix whatever issues your car has. I come here for oil changes and routine 30,000 mile check ups and yes, it's a little bit more expensive than other shops but, my car runs fine and I can depend on it so...fair trade in my opinion. Tony and Dennis take some time to get used to. They are mechanics first, customer service specialists second, or...not even placing at times. If your goal is to keep your car on the road, I would recommend bringing your car here. It has worked for me. read more

Toyo Star - Non descript shop in a non descript auto plaza - Auto Repair Near Me - Rowland Heights, California

They couldn't repair my car at all. The reason why they couldn't repair it in the end was that your car was too old and their charges were very expensive compared to other car stores. The owner just wants money from your pocket. They can only solve some simple mechanical problems, but as long as circuits and computer complex problems are involved, they cannot solve them at all. I won't recommend this store to anyone. read more

Here for a long time and they were able to change my battery moments notice and these are pretty keep up the good work. Thank you.

Wow - Great Experience! My poor Toyota Van had an emergency, and needed an emergency repair. It was on my list to do, but my van's Water Pump failed before I got to it. I started the van, and all of a sudden my idiot light panel started blinking like crazy and the temperature was super high. I immediately stopped the engine, and noticed a lot of some fluid under my van. Great, now I need to clean my concrete way - thoughts of when I was courting my wife and my 73 Opal Sedan leaked onto my girl friends (now wife - she forgave me, finally) driveway bubbling up. I remember her cleaning the driveway one time when I drove up. Back to the present. I figure I will need to tow my van. Hmm, my go to Mechanic is in El Monte, and that is around 12 miles away. Toyoto gave me an estimate of around $1500 to do. My El Monte Guy is around $750. The cheapest I find for the actual part on eBay is $48, but I find you basically need to lift the entire engine to replace the water pump. It's not just a couple of bolts as was with my trusty old Opal Sedan. Hmm, not a job I want to handle. I check prices by looking at Yelp Reviews, and do some phone calls to check prices. Hmm, Toyo is about the same price, and a mile from my house, down hill. And they claim to be Toyota Experts. I call, and they guy who answers has the same year Toyota Sienna I do. And with more miles on it. Wow! He offers a free inspection, since I was not 100% sure what the problem was. My first panicked thought was something went wrong with the oil change, but looking at the fluid on my formerly unstained driveway, it's not oily. And I check the radiator, next morning after I moved it to the street allowing the engine to cool, and it's empty. The mechanic says it should be no problem to drive it a mile safely for a free quote. Hmm. So I fill my van's radiator with water, do some quick prayers, and drive there. Great news, the van does not over heat! After some negotiations and answers to questions, they agree to do the work. Yelp reviews look good, they give the right answers, no tow truck needed (and the wait and commute both ways - what is 2 hours of my time, and my wife's worth). And they will have it done by 4PM. So at 4PM I get a call, and I get a ride back. And the most impressive experience I have had in COVID Crazy So CA happened! They gave me my van's key, and along with a wipe. So I could wipe the key. WOW!!! That was amazing. read more

I was an old customer who has been with them over 10 years before I went to some place closer to my home. Last time my dad's car has an problem and even with no error code they are able to find out what is the issue and fix it in a short time. They may not be the cheapest option out there but the price they charge is well justify by the quality of the work they performed. Highly recommend for any Toyota or Japanese car issue if you think dealer is way too pricy but you do not want inexperienced mechanic work on your car. read more

Went here to see if I could get help with my car problem . The man tried charging me double and some for the cost of just the piece I needed. I tried to see if he can work with me bringing the part. It was just insane a $520 ; yet I only paid $215 at Tri Auto in Chino (: Ask for Danny. read more

I've been taking my cars here for over 10 years. 97 Integra 2006 Acura TL At first I didn't know how to take the quiet, no frills talking nature of the mechanics, but as you can read from other reviews, these guys don't try to sell you maintenance that your car doesn't need. They get to the point and are honest about what needs to be done. Integrity can be hard to find, I know I had given up trying to expect a mechanic to have some. That is why there are so many 5 star reviews here. I used to work my cars in the past. Oil changes, replacing starters, oil pumps, changing fluids, and diagnosing issues so I can tell the mechanics what is wrong. Now with my TL, I just bring it to Dennis. I have come to trust Dennis. Even though I moved to Venice Beach, I still drive back to Rowland Heights, because a good honest mechanic is a treasure and yes they are hard to find. My car is getting repaired as I write this. Oil leak, and tire alignment. I'll add to this review once I get my car back. read more

not the best mechanic around, but they can done simple jobs such as oil, filters change. Just overpriced and couldn't fix the big problems

Glad to see everyone who reviews Toyo Star feels the same about them as I do. (And that's not because Tony will lend me his car when I come out here so I don't have to stay at the shop while waiting. Oil change. Toby serviced my mom's car. Very friendly service from start to finish. Everyone wore masks. We dropped off the car and ran errands. We were told the process would take roughly an hour. They were done before that. Easy and efficient drop off and pick up. Great service. Btw, they moved to unit F at the front of the plaza, left hand side. They use to be at the very back. Cool upgrade. Learn some etiquette when it comes to dealing with customers. Called in and older man answered the phone and I was asking him some simple questions but he really just cut me off and didn't want to hear it and said "no no no no no" and when I asked what he was saying no about he just kept saying "no no no no no". Glad I got to see for their customer service before I took my car in, which I won't be doing at all. read more

I had my car serviced here about two-three months ago and I can say I have no complaints. I was actually going to another shop in the same lot that had been recommended by a friend, when I saw the sign that stated they specialize in Lexus. I pulled up their yelp reviews, and since they had the same amound of stars as the place I was headed to, and the reviews were positive, I figured I'd give it a try. They quickly diagnosed my problem, and since I had already had my car checked out at the dealership, I knew their diagnosis was spot on. They fixed my car for about two-thirds of the price the dealership wanted to charge, and so far I have had no problems. read more
