We went for holiday to Florida and I just said why not? Beach, sea, snorkeling etc and still my lashes survived every day for 19 days up and I lost till today like maybe 10 clusters/lashes. Her technique was lightweight, meticulous, and she was truly a perfectionist. She was also wonderful to talk to and always made me feel comfortable. I've seen other technicians there as well, and they were all talented in their own ways, but Angela was my favorite. Unfortunately, while I loved the quality of the lashes, I often felt more like a transaction than a valued longtime client. Over 2.5 years, I rarely requested scheduling changes, probably fewer than 5-10 times. Yet almost every time I did, the first response from Melli was about additional charges. Meanwhile, whenever they needed me to come in hours earlier, switch days, or accommodate last-minute changes, I was always flexible and accommodating. The last instance was when I needed to reschedule my usual Sunday appointment. Friday was their only availability, so I left work early to accommodate it. When I asked to return to my regular Sunday appointment the following week, I was told I'd be charged for a two-week fill instead of a weekly fill because of a one-day difference. My only other option was to come in Saturday but it wouldn't be with Angela. After 2.5 years of consistent weekly appointments, I was disappointed that there wasn't more flexibility or consideration. The lack of reciprocity and the quick "it'll be considered 2 weeks fill" rubbed me the wrong way. On top of that, weekly fills had increased to $95, bringing my total to nearly $110 per week with tip. With other highly rated salons charging $60-$80, the cost became increasingly difficult to justify. I understand that businesses have policies and need to be profitable, but I also believe that loyalty and long-term customer relationships should matter. I've been a longtime client at other lash salons, and my experience with customer care and flexibility was very different. As an ex-business owner myself and my parents owning multiple nail salons, what makes more sense - telling a long time client that if they push out one day, they'll be charged an extra $10 or accommodating one day to keep them as a loyal customer for years and getting guaranteed $5k in revenue from this client annually? Even if they made 10 exceptions for me, that would have been about $100 in waived fees but they would have made $5k guaranteed annually by keeping me. I genuinely would have continued seeing Angela for years. She's exceptional at what she does, and my decision to leave has nothing to do with her or the other technicians. Ultimately, I decided to take my business elsewhere because I no longer felt valued as a loyal customer.
