I went in to have my eyebrows tinted and my stylist waxed my upper brow, even though I said I was using retinol. They should never wax in that case. The woman tore my skin badly. Of course the management didn't charge me for that service and bought me some aloe and vitamin E. I'm writing now because I still have a big scar over my eyebrow. Mina Spa is a cozy neighborhood nail salon with a straightforward, city-salon feel. When I arrived for my 9:30 appointment, there were already three or four customers inside. I was immediately asked which service I wanted, directed to choose a color, and seated, although no one checked whether I had an appointment. Since it's a busy spot with plenty of walk-ins, expect a casual atmosphere rather than a luxury spa experience. Lien was quick, gentle, and clearly experienced. I especially appreciated how carefully she cleaned up my cuticles! The salon had a nice selection of colors, and although my first choice was unavailable, Lien found a similar peachy, pearly shade that turned out beautifully. The wax treatment and booties at the end also left my feet feeling incredibly soft. My main hesitation is the value. The pedicure came to $98 before tip, and at that price, I expected a longer hot stone massage and a more indulgent experience overall. I was happy with the final result, but the service didn't quite feel worth $98 to me. I tipped Lien $20 because I enjoyed talking with her, appreciated her service, and wanted to show my gratitude. I found metered parking near Canyon Market, just a short walk across the street, which added another $3-4. Overall, I'd rate my visit a 7/10. I would return to see Lien because I liked her work and the location is so convenient, but next time I'd probably choose a simpler pedicure.

They often time would break or chip, which is uncommon for such short nails. initially i thought my nails were the problem, but after going to a new technician, i have had long healthy nails for over a year. the interior is pretty standard and parking is decent if you go into the residential area. music plays sometimes but you can get work done. overall i would not return now that i see when quality service looks like. i have nothing against the technicians, who offer kindness and great conversation, but overall not the place for me.

The 10 minutes of massage for both were so nice, especially the shoulders and upper back that came with the manicure. But during the gel remove, the gel on my fingers was removed with the drill. It was the same on my toes but I don't have an issue there. Normally I wouldn't mind, but my natural fingernails were drilled down so thin that even though I cut my nails short, they're ripping at the ends with normal daily wear and tear. I went on Saturday morning and I've had two nails rip at the ends already and it is only Tuesday morning. I'm not sure if it was because I came in with long nails already (imagine asking for a medium-long set) and they may have been mistaken for gel-x or something of the sort, but it was just my natural nails with gel on top. I can even feel on all of my fingernails just how thin they were drilled down because suddenly all my nails are very flimsy, even with several gel coats on top. The rest of the service and experience were great, so it's a bit disappointing to feel like I regret how much I paid because of how weak my fingernails became after this appointment. Regardless I would still return in the future if I want the pampering experience, but if I can do without the massage and just need my nails done I may choose another salon instead. Just something to note if you're someone who is worried about your nail strength. UPDATE 8/4 9:48PM: Another nail ripped pretty far down just from scratching my head :-(
