Starting with the positives, I really like the women who work here. They are super nice and accommodating. The salon itself is well appointed and clean. My regrettable negatives, if I'm being honest, my nails look like they were done at 10 different salons (20 if you include my toes). Shape and length were not well done even after I asked for them to be evened out to my shortest broken nail. I can shape my nails better and I suck at that. And only after I left did I realize that I didn't get the "chrome" finish on my nails that I selected. 24hrs later the gel polish is already peeling. I paid $80 and left a $20 tip. Pretty disappointed. One of my nails is turning black. I will not return. read more

My friend and I came here to get our nails done for her wedding and we were both super impressed by how fast our nail appointments went. I went with jelly gel nails adding chrome and she has jelly gel nails with glitter. Usually I'm used to having my gel manicures last around 1.5 hours but ours were done within 45 minutes (including the time we spent testing different colors). The cost was also much more affordable than other places I've been to in SF - mine was $55 total. The only downside was that the filing/buffing process kinda felt uncomfortable/rougher (probably a tradeoff for speed) and their nail tech who specializes in nail art wasn't in the day we went (I originally wanted to add some designs on my nails but didn't like how it looked). Overall, I would still come back if I had to get my nails done at a salon! read more

I've gone here multiple times for plain gel manicures and pedicures, which were all really great and last for weeks! This review is more for the two sets of gel-x extensions I got done here. The first set was done by Kerry, who is the owner/manager. She did a good job and the set lasted for 4 weeks The second set was done by Jenny. She filed my nails too aggressively and ripped one of my nail beds. When I pointed it out because it hurt, she tried to act like the tear was there from before. It's going to take at least 6+ weeks for my nail to grow back out and not hurt anymore. The extensions were also poorly applied. She used too much glue and didn't properly attach the tips to the edges of my nails, so there was a lot of gapping. I called them after I noticed the issues and Kerry immediately let me come in to try and fix them. She drilled under the tips to shorten my natural nails so they weren't gapping anymore. This was fine for a quick fix, but there was still a lot of glue left underneath and my natural nails were now all rough and uneven. Also, some of the extensions started lifting after less than 2 weeks. Overall I'd still go back for regular gel mani/pedis but would avoid for gel-x and probably other types of extensions read more

Staff were nice but I came in just for a simple fill and the tech started taking off my nails, ripping them off not taking the time to soak them, damaging my real nails. She said the acrylic was old but it couldn't have been that old. I had just gotten them put on a month ago. When she couldn't finish what she started afraid to rip off my real nails. She just started applying acrylic over my nails. Didn't bother replacing the tips. You can see cracks where the old acrylic is and they look chunky and not natural like I wanted. And then she charged me 65 dollars plus tip. I get it was more work taking off my nails but I never asked her to do that. They look terrible read more

It's relaxing but it does get packed fast on weekends and evenings so better to make an appointment. My go to is getting catseye nails or chrome. Came here for a pedicure on a Friday after making a same day appointment. The place is small but they have nice spa chairs if you're getting a pedicure. My pedicure was just ok. I liked the massage but it didn't last longer than a minute. Docking a star because immediate after I was done, she made me get up, walk with bare feet, to sit in the waiting chairs. While I understand the need if there was a line waiting, but no one was waiting after me. It would have been nice to be able to sit and finish my massage on the chair before having to get up with my still lotioned feet and walk on the ground. I think this place is better for gel options because they don't have too too many regular polish options. Overall I think it's a decent place but I think it could have been better. read more

One of the many many beautiful parts of living in Glen Park is Glen Park Nails! The shop is so clean, pretty, sophisticated and relaxing. Such a treat to come here, reasonable prices, friendly nail techs, beautiful nails every time. Oh, and I almost forgot: they give you a super relaxing massage with pedis AND manis. I visited this salon on 4/21/2022, but before that I haven't been here in YEARS. Maybe back in 2016. I remember choosing this place because of cleanliness. Which this isn't regarding cleanliness. I saw no issues in that department. This is a review on the poor skill that the nail tech had. This lady stabbed 3 different fingers, left my nails filed crooked and even, and was focused on everything BUT me. I don't want to blame the tech entirely. This place is unstaffed. I recently booked during Covid - the week they reopened, and the protocols in place are spot on! It's ready for service. Very respectful. Every time I walk out of Glen Park Nails, I feel like I'm floating on air. The ladies are very friendly and know what they're doing.

Last time I'm getting my nails done here. I've been coming here for over a year and i usually ask to keep my nails short but if I ever let them grow, the staff doesn't like it and files my nail beds so that they become fragile. In the sessions that I don't cut them the tech makes comments that I should cut them and it takes too long to do my nails. It's upsetting to spend money on the services (usually about $60) and on tipS (more than one tech working on me). My nails grow out strong but now feel bendable and fragile. I keep bending them if I bump my fingers on stuff, probably going to another salon to get them cut short. It's hard to write a review because the staff is very nice and personable. If you are keeping nails short and want to go to a nice nail shop, you won't have a problem. They are good with keeping appointments and honest by not overbooking or allowing drop ins if it's packed. I have never had a problem with the gel chipping or pealing. read more

My first visit here I came for an emergency nail session as my regular nail shop was booked for the day. Although an appointment was made I was still forced to wait at least 20 minutes until I was finally called by the nail technician to take a seat on the manicure chair. Thinking the nail session would start after I sat down was a mistake because I ended up waiting another 20 minutes until someone finally came to start my nails. The end result of my gel nail color did not match the color projected on the sample which made me upset however I did not have another 40 minutes to wait for them to redo my nails so I decided to let it be. The 10 minute massage was more painful than pleasurable. Update to a week later, my nail color was chipped almost on all of my nails. I thought I would come back to give them another shot with my pedicure. This time around I felt rushed. The technician that performed my mothers pedicure did mine as well while another customer that had been there before my mothers pedicure was still being helped . My nail polish has layers and some of my nails are not colored properly . This was my last time at this nail shop. Back to my usual nail salon. read more
