I asked them to check the transmission because the shifting didn't feel changed. They said the fluid was gooey and black..and tried to give the speech about needing a flush...they back pedaled. Who knows what they did and didn't do...at this point they may have "fixed" things that were not broken.

By the way, I bought my first vehicle as a single woman and after dozens of dealers playing games with me, Preston, Kevin and Sales Manager, were able to come to a satisfactory price in a few hours. When we recently went to look for a new vehicle I returned to Kevin McClure, sales and leasing consultant.(At the same time, I also reached out to a least a dozen dealers with the same info. None of them listened effectively enough to do anything but continue to try and get us on their lot with no proof they had a vehicle that met our needs.) Kevin is easy going and he took note of our requirements and showed us some vehicles that met our needs. They had already given us a fair price on our trades. He continued to be responsive when we indicated what our financial goals were and introduced us to Ed Smith, the Kia sales manager. Ed generously and effectively searched for weeks to find us a used vehicle in a price range that was a good deal and fit our needs. He stayed in communication! I can't say enough about how much we appreciated this. It saved us time, frustration and conserved my health. We were disappointed in the time it took to close the purchase and loan. Although, there were some "life matters" that happened which wasn't under anyone's control and I'm not sure that anyone could have gotten things done quicker, considering the situation. I suggest that you have done some investigation of competing loan rates for the vehicle you're considering. With this information, we were able to quickly communicate how much we were willing to pay and they found a lender that would beat that. If you haven't investigated Preston you should. They offer loaners or pick up for service. They are reasonable for oil changes and will keep an eye on your vehicle. I can't say I do everything they advise, but most times when repairs are suggested, it's accurate. Their prices are competitive with bigger shops. 5 Stars? Preston is good but not perfect and I want to leave room for them to tidy up the few small items so that I can revise this score.

I also have to comment, the last time I was in they said I needed new front brakes, so I did some…read moreinvestigating and took it to an independent auto repair location, they got it up on the rack, took off all 4 tires, and said "you don't need brakes at this time" So as I suspected, someone just wanted to scam me out of $635 bucks for front brakes, and oh yea, after my last service, several weeks later, I noticed something silver under the hood, only to lift the hood and find a mechanic's screwdriver left under the hood (which could have fallen into the engine) - I don't know what's going on at Preston, but I just don't trust them any longer.

The agreed on price was $575 to tow to a International dealer 53 miles away. Dave convinced me that the could do the repair cheaper and just a good at his shop 33 miles away and only under pressure lowered the bill to $500. I had them service both front bearings (one had a seal leak, original problem) and Dave replaced the brake pads, good work on his part. That's where the OK part ends. I picked up my vehicle and the next day was pulling my full three horse trailer. I applied brakes on a long downhill stretch and the front left brake locked up and almost pulled me into oncoming traffic. I returned the truck to Ameri-Tow and was told that the calipers were severely corroded as a result of the extensive wear and needed to be replaced. Based on the "severely corroded" I had both calipers replaced. When picking up the vehicle, I inspected the calipers and there was NO corrosion. This guy is a liar and in my opinion a parts changer not a mechanic. Dave became extremely angry and told me I must pay the full bill or I could sue him to get my truck back. I paid and he gave me the parts receipts from the International dealer and said if I had any more trouble I could contact them.

I continued my trip in a different vehicle and asked if they could do everything possible to have my car done 2 days later on my way back through after skiing. They met the short timeline, despite having to tow my vehicle, order a special part (drive train baring), install, and quality check their work. I could not be happier with the service. I had the best case scenario thanks to Fast Friendly's. They even charged me less than quoted because they did not use all the parts they thought were needed. My car was approximately two months old and had been damaged on the road by a piece of flying metal. However, when Preston Collision was finished, there was a scratch on my touch screen. The owner checked to see the replacement cost, said it was too much and told me, and I quote, "It is your word against mine. I am not fixing it." The staff, particularly the owner's son, told me that my car was cleaned inside as a courtesy. However, when I showed him the scratch on my touch screen, he stated that no one had been inside of my car. The place was filled with unprofessional people and I would rather drive four states away than take a vehicle here.
