This was at the new Oxnard location. The pasta sauce was too blend. I didn't enjoy my meal.

Attentive, professional, and somehow always there right when we needed her without hovering. Started with a Cadillac margarita and yes... it was balanced, refreshing, and dangerous in the "I could have two more" way. Love that they add the Grand Marnier on the side, as they should. Food rundown because everything deserved its moment: * Diavola pizza: the crust?? perfect. Light, crisp, slightly chewy, all the things. Ingredients tasted fresh fresh. The calabrese + crushed red pepper combo had a nice kick without doing too much. * Romana salad: not your basic salad. The speck, artichokes, goat cheese, pine nuts... it's giving main character energy. * Beef carpaccio: super tender, bright from the lemon, and balanced with the arugula + parm. Clean and simple in the best way. * Arancini: crispy outside, cheesy center, sitting in that tomato sauce like they know they're the favorite. Overall vibe: cozy but elevated, great service, and food that actually lives up to the menu descriptions (rare). Only complaint? I'm already planning my next visit.

The staff in the kitchen was equally skilled, and my family will be returning to try more of their menu. We shared a variety of dishes. The deviled eggs and bacon plate started the meal, and while the deviled eggs were well done, the bacon tasting plate was both a delicious and unique dish that I strongly recommend. We tried the pancakes (perfectly fluffy), the chicken and waffles (the perfect blend of sweet, savory, and a delicious crunch as well on the Parmesan crust), and the Eggs Benedict (well executed, and I intend to explore their three other variations when I go back) Finally, the price was reasonable for everything, and frankly cheaper than I expected for the quality of food and service. There are many restaurants competing for attention and business at Immigrant Son Caffe's price point and, having been to many of them, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. I will be going again, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent breakfast spot whose staff treats you like they want your business

Worst breakfast sandwich I've ever had the displeasure of paying for. Literally just poorly made…read morescrambled eggs mixed with bits of sausage on mediocre slightly cold focaccia, menu said it had some sort of chili crisp aioli and arugula but the sandwich came with the smallest wipe of sauce and like 6 strands of arugula. I took about two or three bites before i gave up and tossed the bread aside just to eat the eggs. seasoning on the eggs was decent but the eggs were overcooked and browned. overall composition of the dish was so half assed i paid 20$ for something my 10 year old niece could have made at home in about 5 minutes. I thought about complaining and asking for something else but I was so hungry coming into the restaurant i just wanted to eat something. After finishing the eggs i regretted my decision because no way i paid 20$ just to eat some poorly made scrambled eggs and about one crumbled up jimmy dean sausage. By then i felt like asking for something else was too late because i had already eaten most of the food. Then the server came by and asked the usual "hows everything tasting?" Pointed at my girlfriend's dish and said "good right?" but rather than actually stopping at our table and addressing us with genuine interest he had said all this without even stopping and walked away. he didnt even give me a chance to express my disappointment. My girlfriend didnt even realize he passed by and said anything. Literally a drive by table touch. After that exchange i was so upset that i pushed my plate aside and just wanted to leave but my girlfriend was still eating so i sat there stewing with anger and dissatisfaction. Ive worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years. The server had multiple opportunities to address clear signals i was unhappy with my visit but he was dismissive and uninterested. I of course could have spoken out and said something but i was so upset i had immediately written this place off and decided that i wanted to just leave and never come back. (Also it wasnt until after we left my girlfriend had told me her pasta was also lacking salt and was pretty bland.) Bad on the chef for putting such a sad breakfast sandwich on the menu Bad on the server for inattentive service Bad on the line cooks for not seasoning the pasta or tasting the sauce before sending out and also for probably not executing the dishes properly. Im unsure of the quality of the rest of the menu but for those still reading, Please please STAY AWAY from that sad sad breakfast "sandwich". Save your money and cook some scramble eggs and jimmy dean sausages at home if thats what you're craving. I promise you will make it better.

That was a HH the likes of which will never be seen again. But I digress...TODAY is today! Great, private parking lot with easy in/out. We came in for a lovely dinner and got just that. Seated immediately and in a comfy booth along the wall, perfect for people watching. SO. MANY. PEOPLE! I wasn't expecting a restaurant to be so full on a Tuesday night, but when you're as good as Ottavio's you develop a loyal following of locals who enjoy their time here. Many celebrations were obviously being had in just our little portion of the restaurant. There are multiple rooms, accommodating various sized parties, and the hot, delicious Italian faire just kept coming. Fresh, warm bread was delivered with our water and we dove into that doughy deliciousness strait away. Hubs went with a 50/50 plate of spaghetti and cheese ravioli with a meat sauce and added meatballs. I snuck a bite of the meatballs and they were very good, as was the sauce. I opted for the Tortellini Silvana, which was described as cheese tortellini w/sauteed chicken, fresh spinach, basil and sun dried tomato cream sauce. It was FABulous! Light and delicate sauce with full flavor. A generous portion, I took about 1/2 home! Our entrees each came with a choice of soup or salad. Hubs chose Italian Wedding and I went with Minestrone. (Side note: I knew well and good I would be having 2 soups, so I wanted to try both. ;-D) Both were made from scratch and delicious! I was impressed with how fluid the staff worked along side one another. Drinks then food then boxing and the check and - voila! - table turned and on to the next group, all while maintaining a welcoming and pleasurable attitude and friendly service. We are sure to have another meal here, next time we're craving old school Italian, homemade, handed down family recipes in Camarillo. Cheers! "CC"
