The placement of the embroidery had to be carefully sewn onto the clothing, using an identical color of sewing thread. When I arrived at the shop, I was greeted by Leo at the front counter. After seeing the clothing, Leo took the time to position the embroidery on the clothing. He told me the clothing would be ready for pick-up the following day. When I picked-up the clothing a day later, I noticed the embroidery needed some very minor adjustments. So Leo asked me to wait at the shop for a few minutes so he could complete the proper adjustments to the embroidery. Once again, service was very fast and all of the work was completed to my satisfaction. Great customer service! Everything looked fantastic! Thank you to Leo! LOCATION. Leonardo's Tailor Shop is located in a street level business strip at the corner of Baker Street and Enterprise Street in Costa Mesa (see photos from my past review). (I found this place after a yelp search) I saw photos and reviews of future brides literally trusting this place with the most important clothing item in the world.. their wedding dress At my first visit, I brought in a Versace cape. it was on sale, except it was 3 sizes too big. I was a little nervous since this cape did have embroidery and heavy detail on the sides, so I knew it was going to be hard to do, but she said it wouldn't be a huge issue. But she did see it immediately and pointed out she could only take it in so much so it didn't ruin the embroidery pattern. She gave me a quote that was under 100 dollars (so, it was totally worth buying on sale even though I knew it was 3 sizes too big and would need altered) (she literally saved me thousands) She called me about 2-3 days later for pick up, and she knocked it out of the park I came back in for more alterations and I was immediately greeted by the owner,Kim, who is so warm and friendly. She's extremely honest about what CAN and CANNOT be done. And, gives you honest prices. She really aims to get the job done and up to everyone's standards to make sure everyone is happy. She's so professional yet so warm and friendly. I seriously love how talented, Kim is. I brought in a Gucci cardigan that had a little snag in it that was turning into a BIG snag. She was honest about the fact she couldn't do much. I told her it did not have to be perfect, I just did not want it getting worse. She actually called me same day and told me it was ready for pick up. The job she did was FLAWLESS! And she charged only 20 dollars Then, my third visit. I needed these items done. -light blue dress that needed taken in because it was a size too big -a sheer maxi dress that needed taken in all over and about 9 inches taken off the bottom -blazer style dress that needed taken in And a couple other items. However, I noticed the owner, Kim, who was there for 20 years had already moved. Please, spread the word. If you or anyone you know, needs some tailoring by highly qualified professional with tons of experience and family owned. Later, I found out they had cut off the front label from the pants and tried to hide it. When I went back to complain, the owner sewed it back on, but did it so unprofessionally that it looked worse than before. The owner is running a shady business here. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else!

RUINED MY SUIT BY CUTTING HOLES IN IT. A different tailor…read morehad ruined a high quality suit by cutting holes in the sleeve when removing 2 labels. WTH? this is standard tailoring to remove the labels without damage. I took the REPLACEMENT suit to Genie, AND showed her the other ruined jacket. Genie said she had formerly worked for Nordstroms (maybe I should have focused on "formerly") She also said the holes could not be repaired. She agreed to alter my NEW REPLACEMENT suit, and to take care removing the labels. I picked up the suit after 2 weeks and decided to check it first. SHE CUT A HOLE IN THE SLEEVE TO REMOVE THE LABEL! Unbelieveable! When I tried to point this out to her, she waived me aside with a "get out of here" back of her hand. I have sent her a demand letter and if no response, off to court we go. It is the only way that you can get merchants to pay attention to the customers. The attitude was appalling, she ruined my suit and was mad at me! I must also note that she wanted to shorten the sleeve from the arm hole- DON'T EVER DO THAT, the sleeve never fits correctly. I know, it is a big pita to remove the sleeve buttons, and put new button holes on, but that is what tailors are supposed to do.
