    My favourite! Apple turnover :)
    Fatema Z.

Gorgeous french bakery filled with all your favourite classic treats! Located in the modern dix30 area, this branch definitely has to be my favourite! The interior has a rustic feel and a great seating area. There is so much variety to choose from... From a vast selection of rich pastries, tarts and danishes to ciabattas, baguettes and loaves. Great for taking out fresh bread in the morning or treating yourself to a mouth-watering dessert from their huge selection! I had my usual apple turnover with a mocha and devoured every bite of the buttery pastry mmm. The mocha was strong and average, not worth the $4 we paid for it though. We were there at 9.30am-ish on a Saturday and it was very crowded so make sure you come early to grab yourself a seat!

Almond croissant and a super expensive small mocha :-)

Nothing better than a good sweet buttery croissant to start off a saturday ! A pit stop at Premiere Moisson is definately a great way to start your day ! It will give you energy and a smile ! I tried their almond croissant and it was so goood ! The almont paste was just perfect ! Not too sweet and not to heavy ! I recommend this place for breads, cakes, sandwiches, croissants etc ... I just found their coffee overpriced for the size they offer ! For the rest A1

    Cutest Halloween pastry ever!

Seriously, the best, thickest cuts of bacon I've ever seen, freshest lamb shanks ever, great made-on-the-premises sausages. If you are a carnivore or happily-content omnivore, you will have died and gone to heaven when you walk in here. Staff are super-friendly and helpful and the place is meticulously clean. Prices are also very, very reasonable given the quality of meat here. Every neighbourhood should be so lucky to have a great butcher shop like Le Viandal.

We're talkin' some seriously good steak here and at $6.50 for 10oz. we're talking some seriously cheap eats that turn out better than restaurant fair. I also purchased some onsite handmade sausage that looks just wonderfull. But since I was simply walking by and discovered this, from what I hear, Verdun institution I didn't have anything in mind. But the possibilities in this meatopolis are seemingly endless. I saw every possible cut of beef, veal, pork, venison, and delicious duck. They also have prepared meals and other tasty goodies for meat lovers. Seriously there is no hope for me now that I have a serious meat shop just around the corner (sorta). The service was great, helpful and friendly. Butchery is a dying art and anyone with a love of food should support their local butchers. Keep in mind that if you buy steak at your local chain store supper market is cheap quality, often very badly butchered and overpriced, while a butcher has a deeper appreciation and respect for meat. You don't have to eat offal to be a meat lover, enjoying a good quality steak is sufficient and reason enough to bypass the chain store and go support your local butcher, local fishmonger and local whatever. Make friends with the owner and you'll see the good stuff that comes from this relationship. It's like going to a bar, if you're a good tipper, by the end of the night, your drinks are free.

This place is about short proximity supplies of great quality, natural, organic food. They grow their own beef, control the process at the slaughterhouse and sell it directly to the public. The meat is individually wrap and frozen quickly to make sure that the quality remain high. This enable them to offer a wide choice of cuts and the vacuum packing enables quick unfreezing in cold water. On this nice spring day, we settle to have our first bbq of the season but our plan was rather a late one... we didn't have a bbq and it was 4 pm and stores were closing at 5 pm on this Saturday. After stoping in Hudson to buy a charcoal Weber (with charcoal) we asked the store if they knew of a butcher in town and one of the girl directed us vaguely to this producer. We got there at 4:30 pm and were greeted by a nice and very enthusiastic woman who gladly showed us their variety of cuts available. For our bbq, we settle on a great porterhouse steak which she suggested would take about an hour to unfreeze in cold water. We also bough some bacon and fresh eggs. At home, we unfroze the steak while assembling the bbq and proceeded to cook our steak. A porterhouse is a higher quality t-bone and is big enough to share (a part of it is the "filet mignon"). I shared the sirloin part with my partner (who had a small part with her salmon) and our son got the filet mignon. It was probably the tastier piece of meat I ever had in North America! We followed up with bacon and eggs on the next morning and it was absolutely great. They don't produce their own pork and chickens but source it from nearby places they know and they make sure that those follow the same organic, humane process that they do for their beef. An awesome place to know and we will be back often. My philosophy with meat is that it is better to eat less of it but when you do, source it with high quality. This place makes it possible and easy to do for us! They also have a place in Terrebonne for those that find it more convenient.

The prices are unbeatable. I will buy a lot of my groceries here than in Ottawa . There are a variety of fresh produce, meat, snacks, different products from all around the world, cookware and toiletries. I paid 38 cents a pound for zucchini, Napa cabbage and sweet potatoes. Where can you find that? Every time I go, I'll do crazy in the chip aisle. You will never find Renées dressing for that price. It expires by February 2024. If big crowds of people isn't your thing, then this place isn't for you. It's normal to have 12 people with carts all over the place all picking ginger. There are no self serve cashes but many cashiers are there which is a bonus! It's hard to find stores that have cashiers this days.. shake my head.

But be vigilant and check what you buy. Pre-packaged styrofoam packages sometimes have low-quality product hidden underneath. Go instead to the butcher or fish counters, which are quite good. Avoid the bargain bin vegetables entirely, and look for fruit flies. Then check your bill before you leave the checkout area. Flyer specials have a habit of ringing up at regular price - I have seen this 3 times in my last 3 visits: on sweet buns, vermicelli, and surimi. Coincidence?
