The front area is a bakery with beautiful dessert displays. I wish I had a room for dessert. We came for the Quiche Lorraine, and the portion was huge -- probably enough for 3 people, I would say. It had a lot of meat, with some kind of special ham/bacon, and the flavor was delicious. If you like meat, this is the dish for you. I definitely recommend it! Personally, I would have liked a little more egg custard in the quiche. The Eggs Benedict was delicious as well. The drinks were great and the service was top-notch. Highly recommend!.

We got the pear dessert, lemon meringue, and Ferrero chocolate cake, and together the three desserts came to around $45. Honestly, I didn't want to like them as much as I did because of the price, but they were all so good that we immediately wanted more. The pear dessert was light and delicate, while the outer white chocolate layer added a really nice crunch. I was super happy to see them because they were viral on TikTok lol. The Ferrero chocolate cake was super creamy and rich, and even the base had that delicious Ferrero flavor throughout. The lemon meringue was also light and refreshing, while the bottom crust still had a nice firmness to it in a good way. Every dessert was super flavorful and tasted amazing. The staff greeted us right away when we came in for takeout, and everyone was very friendly. They also helped pack our desserts, although I personally would have preferred if each dessert was packaged separately. The shop itself is really cute too. They have an adorable heart and rose sign outside, and all the desserts are displayed at the front. They also sell croissants and other little pastries/snacks as well.

This Côte-des-Neiges location also has outdoor seating on a deck out front. Be advised, a large coffee to go was dinky compared to standards I'm used to, (see pic,) especially compared to the sizable bowl serving when dining in (see pic). My favorite pastry so far is the scrumptious, sublime Passion Dulce - a shortbread cookie, topped with sponge cake, garnished with a combination passionfruit, banana, mango purée, coated with a fruit icing flavored similar to the purée, then decorated with cream of Dulcey chocolate and roasted sesame seeds. Wow! Had also a taste of my friend's fruit cheesecake. Nice! Also, when picking up for breakfast, explored a savory pastry Pâté Lorrain filled with assorted meats. While tasty and may be traditionally prepared, the filling had a little too much fat for my taste, noticeable even when warmed up. The staff was friendly, although (a very minor issue) on one occasion the lady behind the counter who said she personally will get us our coffee was not the one who made it in the end, also delayed with a bottleneck at the machines. That being said, I'd definitely recommend stopping by a Première Moisson for a bite or picking up something baked.

That said, I think the sandwich could use a little refinement. The butter came through quite salty, while the pickled vegetables added enough moisture to make the bread a bit soggy, which ended up muting some of the other flavors. With a better balance of ingredients and texture, this could be a much stronger bánh mì. Overall, generous portions and some promising flavors - La Cave is worth a stop.

Everything was fresh and had a nice balance of sweetness without being overly sugary. The croissants were very flaky and generously filled. I got full after just one -- they're huge. I attached a photo of the chocolate and cinnamon one; I'm not sure what it's called, but it's literally the size of my hand. Quick tip: warm it in the microwave for 10 seconds - so good. Boulangerie Guillaume caught my eye unexpectedly. I did not have this place on my list of bakeries…read moreto try while in Montreal, but as I was walking in the area I noticed many people holding their distinctive yellow bags. I was intrigued, and since I can always go for some carbs I decided to head in and check this place out. Unlike most bakeries I visited, Boulangerie Guillaume has a much more modern look, and is larger than a standard bakery. Walking in, I was immediately greeted by stairs which led up to the main production area. All of the bakes were arranged on the back-wall perimeter of the space separated from the pedestrians by a glass wall. The color scheme was mostly black to contrast the bright yellow of the bags and signage. The arrangement of the bakes, combined with the color scheme and modern aesthetics, resulted in a stunning, visually striking presentation. I wasn't too hungry, but I can always go for some sweets and their date square looked good. I went with that, along with a cappuccino. The square was delicious - the dates were high quality, and the crust underneath was moist while maintaining its integrity. The cappuccino was also good, a great complement to the bake. Service was efficient, and overall I had a great experience at Boulangerie Guillaume. I definitely want to return to explore more of their menu - I noticed they had some savory items so perhaps for some lunch. Definitely one of the best bakeries I visited in Montreal.
