Enjoyed stopping by Première Moisson for its assorted quality baked goods and coffee. Everything looks delicious, and what I've tasted is well prepared. This Côte-des-Neiges location also has outdoor seating on a deck out front. Be advised, a large coffee to go was dinky compared to standards I'm used to, (see pic,) especially compared to the sizable bowl serving when dining in (see pic). My favorite pastry so far is the scrumptious, sublime Passion Dulce - a shortbread cookie, topped with sponge cake, garnished with a combination passionfruit, banana, mango purée, coated with a fruit icing flavored similar to the purée, then decorated with cream of Dulcey chocolate and roasted sesame seeds. Wow! Had also a taste of my friend's fruit cheesecake. Nice! Also, when picking up for breakfast, explored a savory pastry Pâté Lorrain filled with assorted meats. While tasty and may be traditionally prepared, the filling had a little too much fat for my taste, noticeable even when warmed up. The staff was friendly, although (a very minor issue) on one occasion the lady behind the counter who said she personally will get us our coffee was not the one who made it in the end, also delayed with a bottleneck at the machines. That being said, I'd definitely recommend stopping by a Première Moisson for a bite or picking up something baked. read more

Large selection of everything. From baked goods, desserts, to specialty items like smoked salmon and foie Gras. This place had so many quebec local products. I spent at least 15 minutes browsing the store and I spent wayyyyy too much money on food I couldn't possibly finish during my stay in montreal. But darn. It's an experience and I had alittle bit of everything and it all was so delicious. I found the coffees to be mediocre though. So skip that. Bonus. I loved that this place opened up earlier than most. As I was trying to find a spot to eat at in the wee morning when everything for blocks was closed except for this place. read more

For the food quality good as always. But about the customer service now it's completely another story the employee who served me was completely lost as I asked a simple question that if they still does personalized sandwiches as I always ordered in any others Premieres Moissons that I went before which they always did but for some reasons she first was confused but said they don't do that and if I wanted a sandwich I had pick the one on the shelf . Also I asked her if I could pay first before she prerare my order and she said I don't understand what you want and had to ask to someone else . And as the cherry on top she forgot to gimme my butter croissant so I had to come back inside to get it . Awful customer service at this location read more

Still excellent! Came here every morning for a week for breakfast. At one point, we tried a bakery across the street and came running back to Premiere Moisson the next day ha. Almond croissant is still delicious as are the apple turnovers mmm. Good thing they don't ship to the US. read more

Great bakery with great breads and pastries. Some of our favorites include their chocolate bread and their blueberry pie. The reason they are getting 4 stars instead of 5 are two fronts: A. Sandwiches are ok but not prepared to the quality of their baked goods. Nothing wrong but nothing excited; specially, their breakfast sandwich option needs an upscale revamp to match quality of their baked goods B. Coffee was ok but again not to the quality of their baked goods. This is an easy fix that in a city where people appreciate coffee - would be very welcome. We are back in that area at the beginning of November and will check to see if any improvements in these areas. read more

Stopped by here for a quick lunch. Service was fairly fast and it wasn't too crowded, but we went on a Sunday afternoon (I can imagine it gets very busy on weekdays). You basically take a number and you can order when you're called. There is a large display of the food available, which is basically premade sandwiches, pastries, pies, quiches, salads, etc. You can get a meal (main dish + salad or soup or desert + coffee/tea) for a decent price, less than $15. Signage is all in French though, although some servers do speak English. Unfortunately when I was ordering there was some miscommunication because my French is terrible and some of the signs for their food is missing. Some items you pay by weight and others you pay per item. There are also plenty of breads and their other products for sale. I got a turkey pie/pastry (unsure of name) and the palm hearts salad. The salad was fresh and crunchy, and the pastry was very rich and buttery. They offer to warm it up for you, and it was delicious, with meaty chunks in the filling and well seasoned. The tables are quite small and it can get a bit noisy, so probably not the best place to stick around and study. There's free water on a counter as well. Altogether a good experience, but it's a bit too expensive for a student budget to go often. read more

Really great atmosphere, yummy food and nice staff. I have come here numerous times as I live in the area and am rarely disappointment. All of their food is really fresh and is delicious. I don't love their coffee and I find it a bit overpriced but the pastries and croissants make up for it. They often have good deals and have a lovely outside seating area during the summer. read more

I haven't been to too many bakeries in Montreal just YET, so maybe my standards aren't so high. But I will say that Premiere Moisson is definitely one of my favorite places to get something baked with gluten. I've never been disappointed. I was lucky enough to get their last loaf of sourdough yesterday, and I haven't been able to stop munching on that thing! Soft, complex, textured, flavorful. When I find myself with a decent package of aged cheese, I definitely hit up PM for a baguette. Or if I'm feeling sweet, their almond croissants hit the spot. If I come back to this area again, I would definitely choose the other competitors such as Le Pain Doré or Le Brûlerie St-Denis, or even grab a chicken shish taouk sandwich at Kebab, as a much cheaper and more delicious option. My Airbnb host recommended this place to me. She said they had the best croissants, periodt. Not the best croissants outside of France...THE best croissants. She had just come back from France and was native to Montreal. I had the best croissants in France so I was a bit skeptical that these could be better... It did not disappoint! I got the almond croissant and the cheese croissant and they were delicious (I preferred the cheese).
