Just ordered the maple butter croissant and the Chocolatine and they're both very delicious but way more massive than I would've thought but still totally recommend it tho Also for those who like biologic products thuer maple butter croissants are made with biological maple butter ;) I took it as a delivery from Uber eats and I've been really surprised how fast I did received my bakeries

Galette de rois

*Review for galette de rois only* I was happy to discover that Froment et de sève released their galette de rois earlier than other bakeries and was also open on January 2, 2023. We are a huge fan of galette de rois and like to try as many as possible during the season. This galette de rois looked nice, quite flakey. We were excited to try it. They also hold a competition to win $500 if you find the gold fève. Honestly, this was probably the worst galette de rois we've ever tried. It looks extremely flakey but does not taste flakey at all, also there wasn't very much frangipane filling inside. Though the filling was good, it was very limited, so paired with the dry and heavy pastry, it wasn't the best. Don't recommend this galette de rois, even though it appears in a few articles for where to find a good one in Montreal.

I was walking by this place and decided to get some croissants. I'm still discovering this neighbourhood and was hoping to find a good bakery. I was pleasantly surprised with the croissants. They literally melted in your mouth, also very flaky! Was hoping to find a cheese danish but unfortunately they don't sell any.

Maple Butter Croissant

Overall underwhelming. The true star was the Almond Chocolatine, clearly the chocolate is a winner at this place. Another cool thing is portions are ENORMOUS. The Kouign Amann was nice, pretty straightforward. The lemon tart is pure lemon, interesting crust too. Maple croissant was extremely sweet. I love the most ridiculously sweet things and this was too much for me.

This french bakery is situated in Montreal, Villeray area. Their pastry are fresh, good scent and mostly delicious. Ground coffee cup to wake you up. I had croissant, poach eggs and cheese, cup of fruits and blueberry jam. Theire french baguette crispy outside and moist inside. Good customer service everything are done fresh of the day.

It's so good to have a proper bakery in the neighbourhood. They may not be the best in the city but with a huge selection of items including a café with outdoor seating, cheeses, pastries, sandwiches and bread, I'm not going to complain! Croissants: 6/10 Baguette: 7.5/10 Miche: 8.5/10 Coffee: 7/10 Danoises: 9/10 Service is fast and friendly.

Many customers were seated in the dining area around an hour before closing, which to me was good sign. I picked up three cakes today from the shop: Bleu Marin, Exotique, Frisson for $4.95/each. Delicious!!! Attendants were friendly and polite Will definitely return to try other pastries.

You can visit their creamery, but I had a chance to visit their Jean-Talon Market location - the cheese with the green label refers to the milk of the animals grazing in the mountain pastures during the growing season; the label that has a snow-covered landscape refers that the milk is from the animals that were fed on hay during the winter months. All the cheeses are aged for 2-4 months in the creamery's underground cave and comes with a natural rind; pressed cheeses, blue vein cheeses, fresh, cheeses, brined cheeses, soft rind cheeses, and even other dairy products (such as yogurts, sheep's milk, and cream) are offered. I thought the cheeses were rich and creamy with a subtle hint of acidity from the sheep's milk - they're pretty delicious, and I'm sure you'll be able to find a version that you'll like! If you're in the market to purchase some sheep, they also have ewes and rams for sale (Canadian Livestock Records Corporation-registered); they also have woollen knit socks, comforters, pillows, berets, and even raw fleece for customized spinning/dye-ing. +fromagerie located in the Jean-Talon market +cow & ewe's milk semi-firm cheeses :D +located across the gelato place

Since arriving in Montréal, I've been on the hunt for some milk from grass-fed animals. Cows, goats, buffalo, sheep - just give me milk from some kind of ruminant that eats grass instead of grain. Thanks to La Moutonnière, I've found it. From professed 100% Happy Sheep, La Moutonnière makes and sells milk, butter, and several types of cultured cheeses and yogurts, all from grass-and-hay fed sheep on their farm in Quebec. I tried their dairy products for the first time this week and am very impressed. Of course it's a bit more expensive than your industrial Québon/Kraft Foods versions but you know what you're getting in this case. La Moutonnière also sells wool, soap, and very reasonably priced lamb meat (I'm guessing those particular lambs aren't 100% happy sheep). The staff are wonderful too - I asked for sheep butter today and was told they were out. About five minutes later, they sought me out in a completely different section of the market to let me know they'd located some butter for me. A great first impression. Find them at the southeast corner of the Marché Jean-Talon, just across from Qui Lait Cru.
