It has FINALLY been a year since this company did remodeling work for me. Why did I wait so long to…read moreexpress my feelings about the job done? It sent me to the emergency room with an accompanying hospital admission the day after they left our project. In spite of claiming that his crews would return all furniture back to its original location, why did my dining room console appear in the hallway to the master bathroom? I have a sofa in my dining room, blind valances are missing, empty soda cans were left everywhere, my office desk is in the kitchen, the kitchen table is in the great room, so and so forth. Not happy with these issues!! The painters wanted to use their favorite paint. We wanted a different brand, a brand that we have used since we have owned houses. You do not tell the homeowner what brand of paint to use, just use the materials that the owner wants. Granted the project involved quite a bit of work but finding workers sleeping in the closet during lunch was too far over the top. Sticking to the agreed to contract was another sore spot with us. After signing lien waivers that I created, the contractor broke the agreement by asking for money outside of the agreed to payment schedule expressed in the waivers. We should not have had to issue a check to fund his child's birthday party (OBVIOUSLY AND TOTALLY NOT RELATED TO OUR REMODEL) that was a very deep line in the sand. Back to other issues that did not leave us feeling warm and fuzzy. What clothing that had not been boxed up by us was placed OUTSIDE while the floors were being worked on. I guess that is why the workers thought the closets made great bedrooms. I have a number of packages delivered to me each week as I work at home. Just because a box arrives that does not give you (the contractor) the right to start opening the box to see if it was something for the remodel. I had to take it from him (I refuse to even utter his name) and told him that the box contained something personal. Remodeling an entire home is a massive undertaking and it should be done to the owners' specs. Yes, some input into a couple of minor changes is okay but ultimately the persons who run the show are the owners. Will I ever remodel a home again? That is out for debate.

They have an awesome design center and team (special shoutout to Luisa!) where you can make many great selections, but they also took my vision for custom flooring and cabinetry and made them possible as well! The quality of the team's work is amazing! They meticulously laid out our tiling and carefully installed all of our fixtures and everything looks and works great! We had gotten a quote from a corporate remodeling company before reaching out to Tico and it was astronomically higher and they offered no real customizations so we would have gotten a cookie cutter bathroom for double what I got my dream bathroom for. We enjoyed our experience with Tico Home Remodeling so much that we used them soon after the bathroom for another smaller project in our kitchen to replace old lighting as well. We highly recommend Tico and will continue to be return customers! Here are our before and after photos:

My mother hired TriWay Enterprises to re-face her kitchen cabinets. The end result was Ok, but…read morethere are still issues that Toni and Jim refuse to correct. The process began with samples of stain color. We asked that four or five stain colors be applied to two different types of wood, maple and birch. Jim only supplied Maple. When Jim started the job, he didn't stir the can of stain, which resulted in the cabinet doors being a purple color. Jim did not want to re-stain until we insisted. The Cabinets were supposed to be laminated with a maple veneer, but Toni and Jim sanded down the existing oak cabinet fronts and stained them, trying to pass them off as complete until I confronted them that the veneer was supposed to be maple. Some of the cabinet door fronts were made incorrectly with borders much too wide because Jim had measured incorrectly. Jim wanted to just cut them off, which would not have matched the drawer front or cabinet door fronts above. During this process, disparaging remarks were made about my mother on Facebook. Jim was constantly bickering and belligerent with my mother. TriWay was also contracted to replace the front door of the house. After we received the invoice, we found that we were charged a much higher price for the door hardware (much more than a standard markup). And the discount place where Jim purchased the hardware is not approved by the manufacturer, so the hardware is not covered under a warranty. When choosing a front door, Jim presented some pictures of front doors as my mother's only choices. She wanted a specific door from HD. Jim became angry about this (probably because he wouldn't make as much money on the door). The salesman at HD also commented on Jims bad attitude. Back to the cabinets, there was additional staining that we wanted to do under the cabinets, so I requested that the can of stain and clear coat be left as we had paid for them. Jim took the materials that we paid for and didn't return them when requested. One of the upper cabinet doors has a very large chip at the top. When asked about it, Jim wanted to use some putty to "Fix" it. When the job was over, they left a mess in the garage. During the job, Jim went across the street to my sister's house and complained about my mother...very unprofessional. After the job was complete and they left, we found that one of the drawer fronts is not consistent with the rest. The border of the drawer front is ¼" thick and all others are 3/8" thick. Also, the drawer front has pencil marks on it that no one erased before staining and clear coating over them. I have contacted Toni and Jim several times and my calls go unanswered. Toni called me back at one point and promised to fix the problem the next week but since then she just ignores my calls. I have even asked for the name of the cabinet maker so that I can resolve the problem myself and they will not share that information. Additionally, my mother found a charging cable that belonged to Toni and called Toni to return it. Toni told her to Never call her again. We will never do business with these unprofessional, rude, and deceitful individuals again and would never recommend them.
