I am a Designer from Orange County and have recently relocated to North San Diego. I am creating my new network of suppliers and craftsman in this area. When my own home unexpectedly flooded a few months ago, I needed to find a Cabinet Supplier locally in a hurry that I felt had the products I was looking for at the price that I hoped for. I searched everywhere without any luck until I finally called Premium Cabinets and Flooring from a Craig's list ad. (I couldn't wait for the others to be ordered.) I left the specs that I needed with the style, color and sizes for my Master Bath Vanity. Two 30" sink bases and an 18' bank of drawers in Espresso Shaker Style. Luke was about to call me back to tell me the bad news that he did not have that in stock, when his installers came walking back through his shop with the cabinets that they were supposed to be installing that morning. "They wanted Chocolate stain, not Espresso" Luke's employee said. Luke asked "What do you have there?" the answer? "Two 30" sink bases and an 18" bank of drawers in Espresso Shaker". Luke called me back and I was stunned. He said that they were meant to be mine and that he would give them to me for just over cost! They delivered them the next day and they are beautiful!!! Solid wood, beautifully constructed. Luke even called a week later to make certain that I was happy with my purchase before he and his wife left town for a week. Who does that? Luke does. I called Premium Cabinets and Dan answered, giving me reassurance-- He let me know they see this frequently and even better- they could work with me. After a house flood, we found ourselves doing an unexpected kitchen remodel last year. The great flooring guys at Action Carpet recommended we go to Premium Cabinets for a quote. After looking at numerous places, we ended up going with Premium Cabinets and could not be more pleased with how our kitchen remodel turned out! We were so happy to support a local Oceanside business. Luke is an analytical type and might come off gruff at the start, but his vision and flexibility more than make up for it. We went with the ivory cabinets and a contrasting brown island as suggested by Luke and LOVE the look. We get countless compliments and the storage is amazing! The cabinets clean up very easily and all drawers and doors are soft close. My husband especially loves the spice cupboard and I enjoy the ease of the pull out pantry shelves. All construction is very solid. Luke referred us to an excellent installer who had our entire kitchen finished in a matter of days! With all of this quality, beautiful work, you'd expect the price tag to be astronomical. NOT the case. RUDE & AWFUL EXPERIENCE. I went there in response to a craigslist ad that said they had all kinds of cabinets, some bumps, scratches, and discounted. I walked in the place and there is a small office with catalogs and small sample cabinet doors. In the back is a small warehouse area. When I entered the store and walked towards the warehouse, the owner gave me a negative look and said "what do you want?" I immediately thought that he's discounting me because I am a middle aged woman and he's assuming that I don't know what I want. This is the second home that I am remodeling, so I'm not ignorant. I said 3 bathroom vanities (I wanted to look at the scratch and dent cabinets that I was assuming were in the warehouse). He said skeptically "do you have the measurements". I replied that i was looking for 2 - 36" and one 60" cabinet. He said that I should look at the catalogs and that I couldn't go in the back because most of the cabinets in the back were customer orders. I said that i wanted to see the clearance cabinets and not order from a catalog. He told me that he couldn't help me. I asked why he was being so rude and he told me to leave the store. I'm a civil engineer and very familiar with construction . I came with my truck, ready to purchase the 3 cabinets. I just don't understand the rude treatment. Also, the company recently changed names and it makes me wonder what that's about. The previous company advertised that they did catalog orders and I wonder if the advertisement on craigslist was a gimmick to get people in the door and then sell them cabinets from a catalog. read more

After a very expensive custom kitchen remodel with high end cabinetry from another company we decided to use Premium Cabinets for our laundry as the price was very affordable. However, the old adage "you get what you pay for" applies here. Our paperwork said the finish was to be Mushroom White. What was delivered was marked on the boxes with another color name. Luke's son delivered the order and when asked about this discrepancy he said it was the same finish color we had ordered, just called something different on the box. After it was installed by our contractor we noticed a SUBSTANTIAL difference between the color of the crown moulding and the trim. I called Luke about this noticeable finish difference. He said and I quote "this comes up all the time and its just a shading difference". This is not a shading difference as the moulding is refrigerator white and the cabinetry is a darker warmer color aptly named mushroom white. Everyone who looks at it sees the difference including our contractor. I asked Luke for a solution, expecting that he would want to come and take a look for himself. No, he tells me to go to Home Depot, and buy some rustoleum spray paint to fix it myself! He ends the conversation by asking me to write a nice review on Yelp! Seriously. Yes I can be a push over sometimes so I did what he said and went looking for the paint color he gave me. No such paint color exists by Rustoleum at Home Depot or anywhere. So I call Luke back asking for the paint, hoping he has some I can use. No, he doesn't have any! Then he becomes quite rude and offers no solution. Keep in mind he said "this comes up all the time". We argue and I end the call by reminding him HE ASKED ME to write a yelp review. After that he has his installer call me to see if he can fix it because he now expects this review. The installer, a very nice and calm guy unlike Luke, didn't know anything about the paint and said he's not a painter. He also does not know what color cabinets we have in order to replace the moulding. I am now done with this company. Buyer Beware. read more
