Totem cost me thousands in repairs. We called them to fix a faulty fan in our dishwasher....$400…read morebucks. The dishwasher had to be pulled out of the cabinet for repair. The very next day, the dishwasher was leaking. I insisted they come out to check it out immediately. I got a condescending and reluctant response. I was told the gasket was faulty and they ordered a new one. The very next day the dishwasher was leaking so bad (without being used) that water was running through the floor, into the walls of the room downstairs. A few thousand dollars later, Totems response..."not our fault". I neither appreciated the treatment I got, nor the misdiagnosis. still contemplating suing them!

The owners are local folks that truly care about community relationships. Owners and staff just know how to make you feel like you're important. Since my first visit, they've made me feel like I'm part of their "family"! I don't like being pressured by annoying sales people who try to sell you something just to sell something even if it's not what you're looking for. I tell you right now, that's not the case at Grand Pappy's. The knowledgeable, professional and friendly staff have listened to my needs and helped me find exactly what I was looking for without pressuring me. Like many people, I like getting a deal especially when you spend thousands of dollars. For that reason, i have a tendency to shop around, compare prices and quality, etc. Now knowing that I'm a very happy customer at Grand Pappy's, it should tell you that after doing my homework that's where I bought. (being a locally owned business) We purchased 17 appliances for 3 homes with them in a six month period. We have had issues with one gas range since receiving it. Grand Pappy's sent a repair person to fix it 6 times in 7 months. The problem has still not been fixed. At what point will they replace the stove that is brand new and under warranty? They advised us to go directly to the manufacturer to replace the stove . The manufacturer told us to deal directly with the retailer we bought the appliance from. It has been over 3 months since the last time the repair man came and we are still waiting on a part they had to order. We have contacted Grand Pappy's several times to have this resolved with absolutely no success. It has now been nearly 10 months of them putting us off. After buying 17 appliances with them, we would have thought they would like to keep our business, but obviously they don't care at all about their customers. We will never purchase from them again.

On several different occasions while I was in trying to solve a plumbing issue, different staff offered and was able to help (although since I'm a guy, I never asked for help - cause I know it all). After a brief interchanged, it was obvious they knew what they were talking about, and even taught me a thing or two. I had been there so often over the course of a couple of days - they recognized me. Sad, I know. The other cool thing is, this Home Depot is on 1st Nation land, so those with a Canadian Status Card don't pay taxes. Every little thing helps ;-)

Called within a few days and was told it will soften up, just walk on it for a while this is normal ! NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES . What's funny as I was loading it it didn't look like the floor model and was told it was the same but different color. So it's been over a month and hours of walking on it like they said to do and no difference to the rock hard product from the day we got it. So I guess you get WHERE you buy from. My wifes sister had told her we should check Mr Liquidator but it was too far for us to drive since we live in Vancouver. That said, we decided to drive out there because $3000 is a lot of money, and man are we glad we did. Not only did they have three different iComfort models on display, but they had a massive selection of Beautyrest and Serta for us to try. Our $3000 iComfort was $1799 at Mr Liquidator. But we didnt buy that mattress. We bought a Serta Masterpiece that is like floating on clouds for $800. And Kris the salesman was amazing and super easy to deal with, not pushy at all. We highly recommend this store!
