The sales person at the time NEVER informed us of this sub-policy and upon speaking with customer service, not only were they extremely obtuse but also very rude and condescending. The problem was not that we were unable to claim our insurance but rather the fact that we were never informed and then faced with such a discourteous response. Apparently this employee doesnt think we have the ability to keep track of how many years are in between 2020 and 2025, as she proceeded to count on her fingers in an extremely patronizing fashion MULTIPLE times. At one point she even asks a fellow coworker: "Hey, is 2026 over five years past 2020?" Despite communicating numerous times that we were never informed of the sub policy, it seemed the only information going through her head is that we cant do simple math and that we were in the wrong. If you ever plan on going to the Brick for their customer services, watch out for an asian woman with glasses who wears orangey red lipstick and seems to think she is the smartest person on the planet.

Review for Coast Appliances - Langley Location…read more I purchased a freezer from Coast Appliances on October 16, 2025, and was told delivery would take about two weeks. This worked perfectly for us as we had a side of beef arriving in early November. At the beginning of November, I followed up on the delivery date and was informed it had been delayed until the end of the month--but was assured it would arrive then. Because of this, I had to make arrangements to store the beef elsewhere until the freezer arrived. On November 28, I called again to confirm delivery timing and was told it had been delayed yet again--possibly up to another 90 days due to a manufacturing issue. I spoke with the manager, Steve, who simply told me it was "out of his control" and directed me to their fine-print policy. When I asked whether they could provide a temporary freezer or offer a comparable model to honour the sale, he refused. The next day, I went to the store to speak with him in person. Steve again refused to take any responsibility or offer any solution. When I requested a full refund, he said it would be processed the following Monday--and then abruptly told me that I "could leave now." The level of customer service at this location was extremely disappointing. I have purchased from Coast Appliances before, but I was shocked at the rudeness, lack of accountability, and complete unwillingness to help resolve a problem that stemmed from their own delays. Not even a basic apology was offered. I will not be returning to this location and would caution others to be aware of their poor communication and customer service. Angie M. Langley, BC

We just purchased a dishwasher and microwave from Coast Appliance, and have had nothing but issues…read morewith their service. It started with the sales rep Ryan. We went is with a model in mind to purchase but, due to the availability of stock (most seemed to have a 2 month wait list, according to him) we switched and settled for Samsung appliances for each. We had asked for an estimated delivery date, so we could book the install (the install was not something that they arrange for you, so be warned) and he said that he could not give one and to check in a week. I called a week later, and was told by Ryan again that Samsung does not provide estimated delivery dates, which makes no sense when you have to book an install that is also sitting at weeks away for schedule. I advised that I am only looking for an ETA, and if there were delays, I understand as I also am in sales and understand supply chain issues. Ryan responded that he would not provide an ETA, and "maybe he should discuss this with my husband as I clearly didn't understand". The demeaning way he treated me was out of line. I hung up and called back to speak to someone else, and was provided with the ETA of delivery with no issue. I made an official complaint with the manager, Shannon, of the Surrey/Langley store and was assured that Ryan would be pulled off our file. I booked the install with the installation company. The next day, Ryan advised the install company to cancel my appointment, without authorization from me or my husband. When the day came to have the install, it was discovered that the entirely wrong dishwasher was ordered, and the one we were given had no stainless steel plate on the front. The dishwasher is a complete eyesore and looks awful. We are currently in the process of listing our home, and now have to put all of that on hold as the kitchen can not be photographed or shown with the dishwasher looking the way it does. The resolution from Coast appliance was to completely replace the dishwasher with the right one. This is now not only holding up us listing our home by a week, but is also causing me to take a minimum of 4 hours off work. I have called the regional manager Gabby, multiple times and have yet to receive a call back. The only compensation that has been offer to us is $100! How they feel that is adequate compensation, when it doesn't even cover the cost of my missed work, not to mention the delay in selling our house, is beyond me. Do not use this company to purchase your appliances. It is not worth it. The additional work you have to complete in the installation and general follow-up is not worth any amount you may save on the purchase price. Find a company who values their customers.

While I agree they have very nice furniture in the store, my problem was getting what I wanted…read moreafter paying for it. I was ordering a Recliner and a couch, but somehow the order kept getting mixed up. I was very clear about wanting a couch about 6ft long, for when my Son visits. He's 6ft 2in. I ended up with a Loveseat or as they called it a "Condo sized couch"! At no time at all did I agree to this, but all I got were arguments, saying I did. Well, I'm 5ft 7in. and for me to lay down on it, I have to bend a lot to fit on it. Well, at least they got the fabric right. The recliner I wanted was extra firm, (for a bad back) and found a really nice plaid pattern of pastel pink, leaf green and a Carmel colored stripe that matched the fabric of the couch. The clerk kept trying to get me to opt for bold prints especially one with dark blue and green leaf patterns on it. I very plainly said no, I wanted the plaid I picked as I don't do bold prints. So she went to check availability of the fabric and came back that I'd have to pay extra for the print I wanted. No problem. So what happens, she ordered the leaf pattern that I didn't want! I noticed it on the receipt after I got home. So I went in the next day to complain and showed her again the print I wanted. So she tried to talk me into a gray colored plaid instead. I told her again that I just wanted the pattern "I chose!" She said that she'd correct it and send a copy of the revised sales receipt. Plus it would take 8-12 weeks for them to arrive. Then about 8 weeks later I hear they're closing for Retirement. I go in again to see about my order. This time she was quite testy with me that the order was fine and not to worry. A few days later, I hear my order is in and to arrange a delivery time, which I did. Imagine my surprise when I got a Love Seat instead of a couch and my Recliner was in the gray stripe pattern! I went into the Store again, with one of the cushions in the gray stripe pattern and about the couch. Same clerk again absolutely arguing with me about my choices and that's what they gave me. She even kept telling me how she had 20 years of experience in Sales, so she knew how to write an order. Unfortunately all of a sudden the fabric sample of the plaid I wanted was missing, and repeating all sales were final But I find it very interesting that all the sales orders and what I got were for items "she" kept pushing and the only thing that was what I wanted, was the fabric of the Love seat! Also, I'm a Disabled Nurse and use a scooter. So with all these trips back to the Store, battling with their front door to get in the Store in the first place, was prohibitive, I didn't need more problems dealing with their staff!
