I am a senior citizen, and they have always treated me with extra attention. Each time I needed a new Laptop, the transition was seamless with the extra touch of locating special files and having them readily available on desktop-with verbal instructions and offer to help if I had any trouble accessing. My laptop died this Monday night, took it in AM Tuesday, diagnosed by that afternoon and picked up my new unit Wednesday. Blown Away. A few…read moremonths back I broke my laptop with a fingernail. That's right, a fingernail. I tried to fix it multiple times myself but keyboards have tiny parts that require precision and patience, I have neither and I also like patience, the kind of lacking that involves foul and nasty words emanating from deep within gut. The kind of lacking that normally ends up costing me more money than if I had just out professional help to begin with. Enter Ankeny PC Repair. Not only did Rob agree to fix my keyboard issue he did it with lightning-fast speed and at a very reasonable price. Let me define fast. I dropped off my laptop a bit after 7pm which of course is outside regular business hours. I got an email the next morning, even before I was awake saying: "Laptop is all ready to go. Let me know when you would like to pick it up." I had my laptop back in my hands within 30 mins after getting his email. This being Thanksgiving week, I was not expecting that fast of a turn around. Pat fixed it and even cast a few "magical spells" on the old computer to see it through an extended trip for me. A month ago, the laptop gave up the ghost again and Pat suggested that it was not worth fixing. I bought a new laptop from him, at a more than competitive price, and he did a superior job consulting on what suited me best and transferring all files, data and misc. from the old unit to the new one. I am now an official Meade Computing evangelist and would highly recommend Pat for any repair, replacement and/or consulting.

I've seen first hand what hackers can do to a business or an individual. So, when I come across a business with questionable practices and with access to do lots of damage the risk is too high to do business with them. Perhaps Meade just likes to overcharge. Took in a desktop PC that was running slow and they thought right away the problem was the…read moremechanical hard drive. I originally went in on a Thursday,. and they suggested I come back in the following Monday so that they could get to it more quickly. I brought it back in that Monday, and hadn't heard back, so I called Friday and they told me it looked ok overall (no viruses, etc.), but the hard drive replacement should help. I told them to go ahead with the work. I got a call the following Wednesday afternoon telling me it was done. The first week was a holiday week, so the swap took just over 6 business days. The fix is fantastic! All the files, etc. were cloned perfectly to the new hard drive, which is amazingly faster than the previous one. From looking at the work order, I can see where they did the work pretty efficiently, they just didn't contact me to move ahead as promptly. The computer was done 2 days before I was notified it was ready, and there was a day lag from evaluation to me calling them to check in and move ahead with the new hard drive. So, all in all, I'm very happy with the end result and the work that was done. There were just some opportunities to get things moving a bit faster to cut down on the time I was without the computer.
