Followed Dr. Beloiu to her newest location for one of our dog's annual exam. I called to make an appointment and the process was easy and seamless. I received an email with our pet's information to review and to also check in. When I arrived , the receptionist was so kind . All of the staff were nice and caring. Of course, I am always happy with Dr. Beloiu . She is so calm and reassuring and our dog is immediately put at ease. When I scheduled the appointment a $65 charge was required , and it was applied to my bill. Overall, very happy with the entire process and service.

Traumatized and withered AFTER his routine treatment and boarding at Preiser

Less than 1 star. Find somewhere else to treat your furry family members. It is with a heavy heart and a profound sense of responsibility that we share our devastating experience with Preiser Animal Hospital. We feel compelled to warn fellow pet lovers about their shocking lack of professionalism, compassion, and competence. Preiser is unsafe, unprofessional, and unqualified. Our beloved cat, Boomer, a healthy indoor pet, visited Preiser for a routine rabies vaccine mandated by the Lake County Health Department. What should have been a simple procedure turned into a nightmare due to the staff's incompetence and negligence. Upon Boomer's arrival, we were assured he would receive proper care. Instead, he was needlessly quarantined in deplorable conditions, causing him immense suffering. Despite promises to update us and clarify the situation, the staff's communication was inconsistent and misleading. Angie told us that they needed to quarantine Boomer until they notified the Lake County Health Department that he received his mandated rabies vaccine. Angie said that she would update us after she contacted the Health Department so that we could bring Boomer home. Angie never called us. We then requested to speak with Jamie (supervisor) to get a proper update, but no one ever called us back. Days later, we went to check on Boomer and asked if he had received his vaccine shot. Mandy said that he received his shot on the day we dropped him off. Ten days later, we asked the same question when we picked up Boomer to bring him home, and Angie told us that he received his shot "just now." The staff misrepresented the medical information. The staff never contacted the Health Department as they promised. Their communication was as clear as mud. When we calmly questioned the staff about the conflicting misinformation and asked to discuss the situation with Kristine (owner of Preiser), Kristine refused to discuss and avoided us. Angie then threatened to call the police and did so. We asked for clarification because nothing they told us made sense, and they responded by calling the police! Tragically, Boomer's health deteriorated rapidly during his stay. He lost 4.5 pounds and developed cancerous growths shortly after his return home. Despite consulting multiple professionals, none had ever witnessed such a profound lack of professionalism and care. Preiser's behavior was not only unprofessional but also heartless. Their actions directly contradicted their stated mission of providing comfort and relief to animals. Boomer's unnecessary suffering and untimely death were avoidable and deeply traumatic for our family. We implore you, fellow pet owners, to heed our warning: avoid Preiser Animal Hospital at all costs. The staff's actions are a stark reminder that not all facilities prioritize the wellbeing of your beloved pets. We urge you to find a trustworthy and compassionate alternative for your furry family members. They deserve the best care, something Preiser Animal Hospital unequivocally failed to provide. There are many cautionary 1-star reviews to support that you don't want to take a chance here. Some people get angry because things didn't turn out their way, but there are common themes... credible concerns, confusing complications, and awful boarding conditions. In loving memory of Boomer. We miss you... you didn't deserve this.

Dr Beloiu is so kind, empathetic & caring along with being super smart and providing integrative care while listening to the pet owner while being thorough and careful with your pet. I prefer non pharma options if they are available & she is the doc for that- often times there are more than one path to wellness. I was pet less for several years then tracked her down from my experiences with her at her former location whn my new Kitty needed a new doc for a check up & over grooming detective work The ladies behind the front desk were awesome & my appointment deposit was used towards the bill- my cat is super scared of men (incl my husband:( ) so i was so happy they could accommodate us Also! They texted me the same day with one of the test results & Dr B called with her bloodwork results the following business day- follow up is fantastic! Thanks Dr B!

Updating as its been a couple more years, two sr dogs of mine are no longer with me, added a newly adopted rescue shepherd from Alabama with hip issues and still feel like I am in the most capable hands of pet care in the Chicago area. They are compassionate, caring (who calls on a weekend to see if a sick dogs temperature has gone down???), and exceptional. Dr P and her staff are nothing short of awesome. Tests and costs are discussed thoughtfully, and they handle us crazy pet owners with respect and concern. Here my dog/s get the best treatment at reasonable pricing. I foster on a regular basis and many times have to visit other rescue org. related vets, they are good, but even with this exposure to vets closer to my home, I feel Doc Preiser & her staff are worth the extra drive time to see. Thanks Doc P & staff! Keep up the great work you do!

Wiggly Tails

I'm sharing my very bad experience with Wiggly Tails Dog Daycare in Northbrook in hopes no one will…read moremake the same mistake I did. I will not be going back to Wiggly Tails after a second, and this time horrific, biting incident resulting in severe injuries to my dog, the defenseless, kind and loyal Bailey. I apologize for sharing these horrific pictures, but I do not want any other unsuspecting owners to land themselves in the position that my dog and I are in. The photos are after my dog was cleaned up. It was much worse, looking infected. I'm heartbroken and mentally exhausted. I gave them a second chance the first time and I was assured it wouldn't happen again. The first time, I didn't post anything and I was asked to give them a second chance. I'm not sure why they neglected my dog to allow it to happen. There should have been some supervision to avoid this. The facility refuses to share surveillance tapes of the injuries. I gave them an opportunity for explanation and was told "We can't guarantee this won't happen again". Why not? Is Wiggly Tails staff extensively trained? Is the staff trained to handle emergencies? How do they organize dogs? by size or by play style? Are "dangerous" or aggressive dogs allowed in group play? Do they let the dogs do what they want until a fight breaks out? Is the facility more concerned with revenue than safety? Doggy daycare places will tell you that they watch the dogs and stop inappropriate behavior from happening but in most cases it's either a lie or they don't intervene until it's escalated too far. Wiggly Tails were negligent in their duty of care which led to my dog getting bitten and severely injured. There is no excuse for my poor little dog to suffer like this! My poor family has to deal with the trauma of an injured dog due to an irresponsible daycare business! Irresponsible decisions were made that lead to Bailey's injuries, and I would not want this to happen to any other pet or pet parent. Please, if you are considering a dog care facility, do not take your beloved pup to Wiggly Tails. I wanted to share my story in hopes that others who see this post will share it, and perhaps other pet parents will think twice about using Wiggly Tails.

It's a wonderful place for dogs! You can see that everyone who works there loves dogs and really cares about them. I have been taking Shyla here for day care for several years, and I board her there when necessary. I wouldn't trust Shyla to anyone else! The place is HUGE and very clean. There are several different areas of play, both inside and outside, and a few different types of sleeping areas for overnight guests. When you board your dog you get a report card, letting you know everything you'd want to know about your dog's stay! Plus they have webcams all over the place, but I don't use them anymore. I know Shyla is in loving care, safe and happy! Wiggly Tails is where you want your dog to be! (And this is about the 3rd review I've given them in the past four years! The wonderful people who work there have become our family! And it's Shyla's second home!)
