LOVE this place !! Dr.Ruffalo is just awesome you can tell she really does care &…read moreLove her patients, I have only had 2 brief conversations with Dr.Claudio and I liked him a lot as well he was very gentle & explained the process of the surgery thoroughly another 1 of my dogs was going to have he too seems to honestly care deeply about his patients. We have 3 dogs & 1 of them had some issues going on with her skin & it was getting worse so it was time for her to see a vet so we could find out what was going on with her, so I did my research on veterinarian offices close to me as I was pretty sure it was a place I was going to be going to often due to the issue going on with my 1 dog & also the fact we do have 3 dogs so I felt confident in what I read about Mt.Plains this was the place for us & I'm so happy to say I was right ! When Dr.Ruffalo first saw our dog with the skin issue she wasn't real sure what exactly it was but did tell us it looked like a rare auto immune disease & she has personally never seen it before in her office so she said first lets see what it is and she started with the least invasive procedure & also the easiest on our pockets she explained it may or may not tell us anything but let's just see & so that's what we did & to ALL of our surprise it did tell us it was exactly what she thought it was so we needed to confirm the diagnosis & to do that we needed to do a biopsy now mind you from the first visit she was talking that we may need to take our dog to a dermatologist to be treated as they may have seen this more often then she did & by time we got to the biopsy she wasn't talking about sending us to the dermatologist any more she said if the biopsy comes back as the same as the first test that she could treat our dog long story short the biopsy came back as the same as the first test our dog has a VERY rare autoimmune disease that will never go away but can be treated with medication & thanks to Dr.Ruffalo our dog looks a million times better then she did the first visit & through out this whole process Dr.Ruffalo had our dogs best interest at hand as well as our Cost never has anyone from this office ever tried to sell us a thing and that I also love & let's be honest in our case they coulda told us if we bought A,B,&C it may help our dogs Situation but not 1 time did they ever try to sell us anything & Dr.Ruffalo coulda just sent us along our way to the dermatologist & let them treat our dog but she didn't she took on the task of treating our dog which again is something she has Never treated in her practice & our dog looks, feels, smells & acts a million times better thanks to Dr.Ruffalo & we are grateful for that & so is our bank account when she mentioned a dermatologist at the first visit I thought wow! talk about speciality & WOW !!there goes our savings acct. Thankfully Dr.Ruffalo was determined to help our dog. Dr.Claudio is also great he did a surgery to remove a tumor on 1 of our other dogs & she came out looking SO MUCH better & I don't even think she has a scar from the stitches he put in.. 1 last thing I want to mention is that this past spring break we had someone set up to watch our 3 dogs in our home while we went on vacation & They backed out on us last minute & I Was so upset & panicked that I started calling all kind of pet sitters & of course no one could do it as they were over booked cause it was spring break which is just about as busy as christmas for Pet sitters & boarding places & I didn't even bother to call Mt.Plains I just knew they were full if I couldn't even find a pet sitter but we had an appointment to take our dog to get stitches removed & I was so upset over the pet sitter backing out on us at the last minute I decided to ask Dr.Ruffalo & told her we had someone (a family friend ) set up to stay at our house & watch the dogs for 10 days 11 nights & they backed out & we can't find ANYONE & She didn't even hesitate she said they were full but she thinks they might be able to do it & she went in the back spoken with some of the vet techs & came back & told us yes they could do it I was so relieved who would be better to keep our pets then their vet who knows them & knows the medication then their Vet so everyone was happy we got to go On a MUCH needed vacation with a piece of mind our 3 dogs were in WONDERFUL hands for 10 days, we missed them dearly & I was certain it was going to be a squeal fest in the office when we picked them up but much to my surprise they acted like they had just saw us I was disappointed that they acted like they didn't even miss us at ALL but thrilled at the same time because that tells me they liked it there & were treated well.. I hope this review helps someone that is looking for a GREAT vets office that really does care About their patients and EVERYONE in the office goes above & beyond to help & they are so friendly .. We will be life long clients that's for sure !!

I've never experienced a less professional veterinary practice in my entire life. My wife and I…read moretook our aging dog there and they asked that we first take him for an ultrasound. We were informed that after the ultrasound they would call us and explain the diagnosis and potential treatment. No call. No follow up. After a month of waiting, I called to get clarification. During our conversation, i was spoken over repeatedly, dismissed and finally hung up on. These people have no business treating animals, and they have no business dealing with their human owners. They are careless, obnoxious and entirely unprofessional. If you value your pets, you will be better served by seeing literally ANYONE else. AVOID THIS PRACTICE.

My husky and my chow chow come here weekly to play! I live in a condo with two big dogs and am a…read moresingle mom. without the convince and care of waggy hotel I would be screwed. My dogs have lots of friends here that they can run around with and play! I send them to board overnight or when I travel as well. I've gotten so comfortable with all the staff that it is defiantly the only place I trust to put my dogs. My dogs always arrive happy and my husky even cries of happiness when we turn down Oakton to go to "school". They always leave happy as well and then the take a nice long rest when they get home , which makes my life ten times easier. Taking my dogs here gives me and my daughter a well balanced life with free time, while giving my dogs a big place to play and exercise. My dogs love the staff and I believe the staff truly does care for my dogs and the others.

Yes, you were able to do just a cut last time she was dropped off even though it was also 3 months…read moresince a previous cut. I actually made sure to brush her body before the appointment and again, without even touching her hair you guys decided she was unable to get a cut only based off knowing it's been 3 months. The only option I was given was she needs to be shaved, to which I responded please don't shave her too short because what else was I supposed to say since I was being told NO when I asked for a cut only. You're contradicting yourself because those who have this type of a dog will know the one place that gets most tangled is by the face which is the only place she got a cut!! So yes, you're capable to cut when she has tangles.

It gives me no pleasure to write this, but unfortunately this is a horrible company run by…read morehorrible, greedy people. We took our dog here for training, doggy daycare two days a week and boarding when we were out of town. It cost us thousands of dollars. Our pup successfully learned to sit and stay and lay down and all the other things you expect a dog to know. He will do pretty much anything for a treat. Everything was fine for several months. The feedback we received about our admittedly rambunctious dog was routinely positive. They regularly sent pictures and videos of him playing and having fun. Then some of the good, experienced staff left. In hindsight this should have been a big red flag for us. Apparently, most of the new and remaining staff doesn't know how to deal with animals. Suddenly, our dog, which they trained, was not well behaved enough for them. A few days later they called to say he is no longer welcome here. No conversation. No discussion of more training, if that was their actual concern. Nothing constructive to offer at all. They didn't even have the balls to do it in person. Don't waste your time! All they want is your money. They don't give a damn about your pets!

This is my first review on Yelp but Brooks has been a tremendous help with training my dog, Cooper,…read moreso I thought it was necessary to return the favor. :) I got Cooper back in August of 2018 as he needed to be rehomed for various reasons--my boyfriend and I were quick to realize that he had not had any form of training while at his previous home. Desperate for any sort of help, I researched dog training facilities and found Brooks. While the price was steeper than I was expecting, the 2-week board and train provided a foundation for Cooper that I would've never been able to accomplish in that amount of time. It was obvious that Liz, our trainer, really cared about Cooper's progress and she was very transparent in what I should expect Cooper to learn in the 2 weeks he was being trained. I appreciated that she was honest and upfront on what the expectations should be, instead of making grandiose promises in order to get my business. The 2-week board and train also came with 3 follow-up sessions with Liz to go over the training and to answer any questions I had. I thought these sessions were immensely helpful and I appreciated each one. Since then, I have continuously used Brooks for boarding and daycare, both of which have been great experiences. Cooper is always excited to go to daycare during the week and comes back a tired and happy pup. If I had anything to suggest, it would be to add cameras for clients to see their dogs. I would love to be able to watch my dog via webcam while I am at work. Overall, Brooks has been a lifesaver and I wouldn't have been able to survive these past few months as a first-time dog owner without them. A special thank you to Brittany and Liz for being so wonderful to work with! :)

Colton was a huge help in us getting our Vizsla under some kind of control…read more He was super energetic and did not listen. Colton taught us the skills to help us control him better and get him to listen to our commands. Still has the energy but we can control him so much better now. Would definitely recommend training with them. We are so much happier and our dog is to.
