Two 1/2 weeks ago, I found myself desperately seeking placement for my elderly father who has moderate dementia. He had been rehabbing at a SNF for 12 weeks, and when discharged, his memory care facility of 12 months refused to take him due to an increase in services that he needed. They notified at 4:30 PM on a Friday that they were refusing my dad, forcing me to request an extension of his discharge, and he was scheduled to be released on Monday. I reached out to Mona, as she and Jill had assisted me a year ago when my dad was first placed. We went with our own selection at that time. Although Mona was traveling abroad at the time, she responded to my text within minutes. She remembered me and graciously went straight to work to find a good placement for my dad.
