I just want to reorder my CPAP supplies. Called in an order on 4/1/26. Poor service and even worse communication. Lots of unnecessary run-around - I had to call back for status several times. On 4/16/26, when the supplies finally arrived, they were the wrong ones. I have called back again several times, but to no avail. Most recently, on 4/24/26, I was told a manager will call me back....We'll see. After almost a month, the CAP supplies I need have not come and no return slip for me to return the incorrect supplies. And - I am still unable to use my equipment. If I could give them a zero or negative 1 for this service, I would. 5/12/26 - Just spent 2 hours to no avail. Never received a return slip for the incorrect supplies, but I DID receive a bill for them! Just spent all afternoon being redirected around the company (6 different people) trying to get a return slip and have the wrong items removed from my bill! This shouldn't have to be sooooo hard! 5/14/26 - Supervisors do not call back. The last rep I spoke with yesterday told me to "just keep the supplies - Preferred Homecare does NOT accept returned supplies" and "you have not been billed for them" - even though I had the bill in front of me and offered to send a copy. She said nobody is able to remove the charge from my bill, because "there is no bill." So accounting says the supply division needs to adjust the bill, the supply division says there is no bill to adjust, and neither of them will talk to the other. Sounds like fraud....I have reported them to Medicare Fraud, Waste, and Abuse and the Arizona Attorney General's office. Now, I think they deserve a rating of negative 3! read more

Medical equipment provider, had to make a lot of calls to check on equipment delivery. Eventually, came to warehouse to pickup because they took too long. In person process was okay, at least it got the items taken care of and I could do the copay quick. You get who you get with insurance. I recently got released from northwest hospital, in need of oxygen tanks. I was told by hospital the company was Lincare. The company who delivers oxygen tank is Preferred home care. I have been trying to contact this company for days. When I finally located the company who delivers the oxygen, by my own research bc I was not given any paperwork or phone number to call to get replacement. I spoke to a supervisor today and was promised delivery today bc I am out of oxygen tanks. N I have an appointment first thing tomorrow morning. At 6:30pm today I called asking where my delivery was, n was told it would be delivered between 8:30pm to 10:30pm .I then get a call from preferred home care at 8pm to only be told I am not a priority now bc they have to many discharges to deliver my oxygen now!!this is totally uncalled for n is a horrible way to treat a client n recepant of said oxygen tanks. This company needs to get there care to par n stop treating people who are in need of supplies as just a number! I have never been treated so poorly by a health care supply company. For any company for that matter the way I was treated today. That woman who changed my delivery bc of others needs , which seems very unlikely they are in need anymore than I am. It's difficult to reconcile my own experience with Preferred Homecare ("PH") and the several negative reviews on this site. So, all I can report is my own recent experience replacing my CPAP machine. After 8 years my old machine quit. Thanks to the people at PH though, getting a new machine just before I left town for the summer was a breeze. Despite coming in as a 'walk-in,' Joel certified that my Panasonic machine was not repairable, assured me that I was eligible for a replacement and explained what I needed from my doctor. Returning with the doctor's order (again as a 'walk-in'), Rosalie at the front window scheduled me for a CPAP class and machine pickup early the next week. Kari and her team did a good job leading a class to get four of us familiar with the new machine. Whatever particular problems others have had with Preferred Homecare certainly weren't present recently. read more

Terrible service. Keep the caller bouncing from one employee to another. I now have spoken with 5 folks who do not have answers to any questions. They inactivated my account; they never followed up on resupplies. My account was stated at least 3 years ago with periodic calls to see if any parts needed to be replaced. Then these calls stopped. My PCP has sent in 3 prescriptions - which were ignored. Now they cannot tell me if my order will ship even though a rep took the order. The service provided was abysmal and now I'm on hold for another 20 minutes and then they will drop the call forcing me to call in again and repeat all the info I have given them. I've been waiting far too long for my BiPAP machine after completing all required steps. The delay isn't just inconvenient--it's affecting my health, sleep, and ability to function. Every day without this machine is a day my body stays in survival mode. I've called, followed up, and documented everything. The lack of urgency and communication is unacceptable. Patients deserve timely access to essential equipment--not silence and stalling. and to make things worse my bipap is on stat which means that my condition is serious and should be worked on at the top of the list and it should never be a wait of more than a week to get my machine but this place never sent in the paperwork to get the approval to my insurance like they should have. if I could give no stars I would thinking of having my sleep doctor switch companies and I am filing complaints to the supervisor on my situation read more

Just left a one star for the review which is the lowest available but that's much more than they deserve Looking at other reviews for them, the highest I've seen is a 1 1/2 star. In fact, the Better Business Bureau does not even accredit them. The only reason I've had anything to do with them is because this is where my doctor sent me. I know from personal experience now just why they have such poor reviews. They are incompetent and have totally no regard for customers. All I've gotten is the runaround and excuses why they can't do their job. They seem to put more effort in trying not to do their job rather than doing it. Preferred Homecare seems to be the only place in Tucson that accepts Medicare, etc. HOWEVER, in 2023, Preferred became part of Lincare. See their local contact below. If you need someone to listen, care, and reply, CALL LINCARE. After many months of no response from numerous voice and email messages I left for Preferred, I discovered that Lincare answers their phones and returns calls! They have a patient portal too. Sorry for this long message, but I worked for months to get Preferred to respond to me. I hope this saves someone out there the pain and needless suffering I endured for months of not having new supplies and being "gaslighted" by the lack of competence and caring from Preferred Homecare. To get the supplies I needed, I kept a record of each Preferred Homecare Call Center phone call over about six months. Date. Time. Name of operator. Reason for the call. (You can NEVER get through to Preferred on the phone. It's impossible). I was told each time that I was "out of compliance" so my insurance company would not pay. Preferred sent me a collections letter and wanted to force me to return my CPAP that I was almost done paying for. Each call center worker transferred me to a "Special Agent" who said they could not access my full records from Preferred. They said they would pass the message along, but I never got a reply. My sleep doctor sent numerous faxes to Preferred letting them know that I was not out of compliance! I used the CPAP every night without fail for at least four hours or more. The Call Center said that there was no record of a report from my doctor. This was a lie. The Call Center said that I must have yet another overnight sleep test or they would not service my account, even though they continued to take money from my bank account each 19th of the month while all of this was going on. (In the end, I overpaid the CPAP amount!) So, my insurance paid for another overnight sleep test, but I could not get supplies from Preferred until four months after the latest test to prove that I complied. At the end of the four months, Preferred continued to say I was not in compliance! Next, a rep from my insurance company placed a conference call with me and the Call Center. This time, we stayed on the line while being transferred from one person to the next at Preferred. My insurance company rep recorded this entire episode which lasted over one hour. The insurance company rep said he had never heard of such incompetence in his whole career. He was equally appalled. Finally, we were connected to a person who works at Preferred in Tucson. She repeated everything nonsensical thing I had been told for months. As a last resort, she allowed me to visit the Preferred Homecare office in Tucson to meet with a Respiratory Therapist to review my account. I took a witness with me to the meeting at Preferred in Tucson. I also took a large file folder full of notes from every call I made to the Call Center. I took printouts of every email I sent that went unanswered. In this face-to-face meeting, I felt angry when Preferred Homecare told me, "Oops, our mistake. You have always complied with the minimum of four hours per night over the last two years. We don't know what happened. We are sorry for the error." I left that day with all the supplies I had been denied for months - new masks, filters, tubing, and water reservoir. Since then, I have ordered supplies without any issues. But it if ever happens again, I won't waste time. I'll go to Preferred and wait patiently in the lobby until I can get an appointment to see a respiratory therapist again. By the way, respiratory therapists have been great to work with. I was the first person to apply for the position of delivery driver on their web site. I rescheduled 2 other appointments to meet the time frame of the "personal" interview. I arrived 20 minutes early in case there was paperwork involved. The receptionist said there were 9 people ahead of me. This shows me not only a level of pure lack of planning ability on the part of the HR people conducted interviews, but it is extremely rude. If they treat potential employees in such a disrespectful manner, I can only imagine how they treat their customers. I walked out. I would not bother with that company. Their in store pick up isn't too bad, but their delivery service is the worst. Don't believe them when they say they're delivering. They won't show, but they'll claim they were at home or delivery site when they weren't. We have 24/7 facilities, so there's always staff there and usually service providers coming and going, but they'll have the audacity to claim nobody was there when they delivered. read more

We went for an in person visit and were assured things were moving in the right direction. We waited and waited. months passed. We called. We waited. We called again. I called her doctor. Finally they sent someone to our house to measure my mom for a wheelchair. We were told he would submit the forms that week. We waited and waited. Months. We called. We called her insurance. They never received the paperwork from very Un-preferred homecare. It has been 6 months and we are still waiting for this company to do its job and send the insurance the referral. Really terrible company. Six months later, my mother still doesn't have her prescribed wheelchair. A simple referral submission has turned into a marathon of broken promises and incompetence. I was referred to them by my doctor, after contacting them with a written prescription they informed me they needed doctor chart notes as to why the necessity which was written on the rx. After waiting another day we informed them of the size we needed and because of delay of delivery my husband went to pick up the wheel chair, and was assured it was the right size, it wasn't and could not fit through doors. By far, Preferred Homecare is the worst company I have ever dealt with, and I once had to work with the FBI concerning a Co involved with consumer fraud. I am trying to replace my C-Pap machine, and since November of last year they have not once returned a phone call. They have lied directly to me, to my Doctor, and to Cigna. The funniest part is they can't even keep their lies straight. They have gone as far as saying they were waiting in my Doctors office, not knowing I was on the phone with the assistant in the waiting room. I called them on it and they said they would get back to me (refer to first sentence). One of the employees on the down low did tell me they were way way behind and were not able to keep up with their existing customers, so they are just stacking up new requests. I had been with Apria Healthcare for over 20 years, but Cigna Advantage has forced me to move to this outfit. I contacted Apria and they told me I could have the Cpap Machine within the week, but Cigna will not approve them (or anyone else for that matter). I don't understand why an Insurance Co as large as Cigna has tied themselves to such a disreputable co, with no other options. I have actually prayed as to why I must deal with these horrible people. I am not saying use Apria, but for God's sake, walk - NO - away from Preferred Homecare. Very had to deal with. We needed more O2 tanks and said they tried to deliver but no one was home , however we were there the entire time and no one came by. Then when called for an equipment pick up and they never got back to me. I finally dropped the equipment off and then they tried to bill out for the equipment not being returned. I would not suggest anyone use this company due to their billing problems. I did not have a problem with the staff or getting my supplies but they will double bill you for something you already paid for and bill you for something your insurance already paid for.
