i've been going here off and on since 2011 2012. i explained my situation of how i am trying to stop wearing glasses since they stress my face out during my stupid cubicle job staring at a computer all day. i have a condition where i have to take hard lenses not soft ones, but this office decides to have me elect scleral ones since i brung up that type from a previous md... now i'm scrambling for a better insurance which my employer doesn't offer to afford those way more expensive ones, these are $800 compared to $200 according to the md. i'm fully covered for medically necessary hard lenses 100% once a year every 12 months with my insurance which is mes not vsp or eyemed yet i am being fooled into selecting the other ones. i never said my eyes couldn't handle hard lenses i said i never gave em a shot for longer than 3-4 days. its been 12-16 years since i have tried contacts yea i said i have dry eyes at times but discomfort and severely dry eyes are not an issue my own mother can handle hard lenses for over 20 years of course i can get used to it. i am at the mercy of money hungry optometry offices. this is not ophthalmology this is optometry theres a huge difference. this place just sells everything for a lot and tries to profit with $500+ frames etc. one of the girls before didn't even know what high density frames were, my current glasses are thick and you can see the thickness of the frame. 12/2018 thats when i started this stupid crap... if you do your job with care and not just about profit motive i wouldn't complain, i dont care about leaving good reviews that's called doing your job this is a complaint justified and the platform to let it be known i am not coming back here i'll have to find someone else to simply give me the rgp ones, and hire better more informed workers these recycled every 2 year workers are shy unfriendly non social and scared and even after the md told the receptionist or tech or whatever that i am not buying anything she still asks me do i want any frames today.... greedy money hungry office period who makes money off of the people of that artesia cerritos area read more

I called and received a same day appointment for an eye exam on Saturday. The receptionist/technician was able to verify my VSP coverage and the price for the co-pay was reasonable and fair. The actual exam was more extensive than I have had with previous providers. When it turned out that I needed to have my eyes dilated, Dr. Mitchell was more than willing to let me drive home and return with a co-driver the same day. Her evaluation of my eye condition was thorough and her recommendation/written report helped me get through Kaiser Permanente protocols and see an opthamologist the same day. I'm so glad to have found this Precision Vision through Yelp, and am more than happy to give Precision Vision one more five star rating. read more

Avoid going here, the two doctors I had here were horrible. One doesn't listen to your eye conditions and proceed with vision testing causing significant inaccuracies and the other gave out contact lenses that ultimately harm the cornea and I had to go somewhere else to correct. They're also somewhat rude at the front desk and would not be honest about all the options available to you in terms of contact lenses. read more

She didn't try to hard sell or make me pay extra for unnecessary eye products, unlike the Optometrist at Cerritos mall who told me I need 2 glasses for computer and normal wear. I found this place from Yelp since my husband and I both have a VSP and his frame was broken. We walked into the store and were greeted by the staff who seem to be young but so knowledegable about what they do. Although we did not purchase the frame from their place, they immediately took a look at it and fixed it for us FOR FREE! I also mentioned that I found the store on Yelp, the staff quickly responded with the 30% discounts they offered on Yelp. This certainly shows that they know Yelp and keep their words! We then took my mom who has no insurance to get an eye exam for contact lences. The doctor was very nice and while we were waiting, the staff asked if we wanted to browse and tried on some frames. The exam is $100 which includes a free pair of contact lences and a free followup. This is definitely cheaper than Costco, which charges $108 without a followup, because the exam is for people with special contact lences, like my mom! We are definitely going back to get a frame around March according to our VSP plan. I highly recommend this place!!! read more

I have been staring at computer screen a lot ever since starting college...staring at the computer at work, reading articles online, even HWs are submitted online. I would say I spend roughly a total of 10-13 hours of computer use and reading a day!!! ...Recently I notice my eyes are out of focus after 10-20 mins working on computer. started to yelp around and this place impressed me with perfect reviews all around. I made an appointment with Dr Ho. She was friendly and explained everything to me in details. She noticed me that I had a discolored mark on each eye ball and advised me to watch my weight and eat more dark green veggie, multivitamin supplements etc.... According to her these marks may be nothing or a beginning of something major...I should come back next year to check them out. She also said I had computer syndrome, which I am not surprised. She told me to use eye drops and recommended single vision lens for just computer use and reading. After getting my glasses, I now can work long hours on computer like I used to (way back then when I first started college). The lady helped me with picking out the frame was patient, I picked up my glasses in 3 days. I would not say I got a great deal getting my frame and lens done here, but it could be due to my department's cheapy vision insurance, I think I can do a lot better at costco optical office, I don't really care about brand name frames anyway. read more

I think this is one of the most trusted optometry I've been to. Nice workers, owned by a Chinese/Taiwanese owner, so the staff speaks English and Chinese. My doctor is really nice, Joyce, I think. They don't try to over charge you at all, they try to help you save money especially on exams and contact lenses. Only prescribe the things you need, I had dry eyes and so she would give me temporary ones to use and explain everything to me very clearly. Shes really patient and professional when giving eye exams. Her assistances are pretty nice too. They have good glasses brands like Tiffany, Chanel, Cartier, and Prada. One thing they should probably know, its kinda bad to let an employee complain about another employee while theres a customer waiting. Especially if the customer could understand everything she is saying, just not that professional. But overall, I would recommend this place to my friends. read more

They're all really friendly and helpful in assisting you in choosing your frames, getting an appointment, or whatever you need done. Fantastic service! and great prices! I am always weary of having to find a new doctor for anything especially my vision. I had previously gone to my local costco for my vision needs and while they where satisfactory they pale in comparison to Precision. My first eye exam ever, because I have never needed glasses but after working on the computer 40+ hours/week computer glasses were recommended since my VSP ins covers them. Although some can be expensive, their selection of eyeglass frames is very wide. The lens coating (anti-reflective/glare) is cheaper compared to another optometrist I tried going to. Took the extra precautions for glaucoma (which I appreciated). I also liked that she explained everything to me (pictures, why each test was happening, etc.) She gave me an honest opinion on what would help me (vision wise), without promoting any of her own merchandise. First off, I have never worn glasses so I had no idea what to expect. I went in that day, prescription in hand, needing glasses the same day. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked what I needed that day. The young lady (who's name I didn't catch, unfortunately) was extremely helpful in helping me choose the right pair of frames (which is tough cause I have a big head). I went through a bunch of different ones before settling on the 2nd pair I looked at earlier. She explained to me the options for the lenses, no pressure, and I was on my way. Also, yes the yelp discount is still in effect. Awesome! Paid for my discounted and greatly priced glasses and left. Fantastic service with a *real* smile. Everyone is happy, and friendly here. The eye test is extremely thorough, and every machine is explained. We are a full serving army family and find it hard to get good care at times. But this place and its 5 star staff made us feel welcome and was able to fit us with pairs of glasses that looked good and suited our budget. I was really annoyed by PVO. I called and set up an appointment for a contact lens exam and was told that it would $79 dollars without insurance over the phone. After going in and filling out the necessary paperwork, I waited for 15 minutes before they told me that the exam would be $100 dollars because I had an astigmatism. At the very least they should have told me the info before I went in. The reviews were stellar for the place but I guess its just not for me. read more

Let me start off by saying that I have been a frequent customer in the past few years despite the fact that precision vision is out of my network coverage. This is one of the very few locations that carry channel glasses, hence, I keep coming back. I do like that they can adjust your glasses anytime, if it's too big. However, I recently came here for a contact lenses eye exam, and fitting. The optometrist was nice, but at the same time I was not offered a contact lens case for the two contacts I tried on until later when I asked where am I going to put my lenses? Last year, it was $40 for the fitting but $60 this year and I was quoted for $40 on the phone prior to my appointment. At the end on my appointment, I asked the front desk staff for a copy of my prescription, the front desk girl, pretty much told me that they match 1-800- contact lenses price. First off lady, I'll decide what i'll do with my prescription, I am not obligated to buy lenses from here. Then, she preceded to tell me that I can't get a copy of my prescription until after a week trial, then they will finalize my prescription with the trial pairs. And if, I didn't like the trial pair, then I would have to come back for another evaluation for a different brand of contacts. Why would I need another prescription for a different brand of contacts? Say what? Note: I was not informed of this procedure and told her that this wasn't the case last year, ( she looks up my eye exam from last year). I tell them that I do not want to come back for another evaluation and want my prescription finalized for freshlook colors and not the trial pair brand. It was not until another front desk member agrees to email my prescription. Edit: The manager of precision vision contacted me and seemed genuinely concern and apologized on behalf of his staff. He offered to remedy the situation, but I refused, I just asked him to inform future patients on the procedure on finalizing prescriptions for the contact lenses fitting. This place was great. A year later I went back, I am really unsatisfied with my visit to pick up a new frame. By the time I went back to pick my frame up, I put it on, and it keeps slipping off my nose. The clerk said it is the design. She keeps bending the legs try to make the glasses stop slipping off my nose, however it was already at glasses' limit and it's not improving. The actual problem is not it's by design but the temples or legs of the glasses are too long. They never told me when i pick out my glasses. And they don't allow to get a full refund, because the lens will only fit on this specific glasses, not other pairs. Now I am stuck. read more

This place has made me rethink of how helpful Yelp is! The doctor is great, but their billing department is a MESS. There was an issue with every single billing (with them overcharging of course!), whether it was over copayment, fitting payment, and even ordering contact lenses...there was ALWAYS an issue. I am not going to name names because there were SEVERAL people here that did not know what the heck what they are doing. And when they realized what they did wrong there was no "Sorry about that!", just a "darn you caught us lying, now leave" kind of attitude. This place would be great if employees were trained on how to do their job. If you want a headache, come to PVO! If you want better vision, go elsewhere. read more
