I am writing to formally file a complaint against Precision Tune Auto Repair regarding negligent and faulty repair work performed on my vehicle, a 2015 Infiniti QX80, beginning in June 2025. Initially, I brought my vehicle in for diagnostic services and was informed that the transfer case required replacement. After replacement, the vehicle continued to malfunction, and it was later discovered that a faulty transfer case had been installed. The shop retained my vehicle for an additional month to month and a half to replace it again. Following the second transfer case replacement, my vehicle began leaking oil an issue that did not exist prior to service. I returned the vehicle, and Precision diagnosed the issue as a transmission problem and sought approval through my extended warranty. Due to delays, I retrieved my vehicle and took it to another repair facility, which determined that the issue was still related to the transfer case not the transmission. Because the warranty had already paid Precision, I was required to return to them for continued service. Precision then claimed the issue was a transmission seal and proceeded to replace the seal multiple times (approximately three to four attempts), yet the leak persisted. Despite repeated unsuccessful repairs, they continued to misdiagnose the issue. Eventually, Precision submitted another claim stating the transmission had failed. My extended warranty company denied the claim, stating that the transmission failure was caused by faulty workmanship performed by Precision Tune Auto Repair. After months without resolution, I was informed that if I wanted my vehicle properly repaired, I would need to pay out-of-pocket elsewhere. As a result of these actions, I have experienced: Prolonged loss of use of my vehicle Continued mechanical failure due to improper repairs Significant inconvenience and stress Financial impact and potential additional repair costs I am seeking full accountability and resolution, including repair costs and any damages resulting from negligent service. Please consider this a formal notice of dispute. I am prepared to pursue legal action if necessary. read more

This used to be my go-to for car service, but not anymore. It is piss poor customer service to have someone hang up on you when you question them. I purchased a very expensive battery for my SUV, and after 1.5 years, it's completely dead. This man gave some lame excuse, "I don't know where we got the battery, but they only last 1 to 2 years." That's his lazy butt's excuse for not trying to look up the information. I tried to explain that when I purchased batteries in the past, they usually lasted 5 years. He just hung up on me. Went in for an oil change and they didnt screw in or didn't inform me there was screws missing on the plate underneath the vehicle. Dealt with rude and unprofessional customer service afterwards and 2 months after my oil change I checked for oil in my car and couldn't find anything on the dip stick. They sent someone out and put oil back in after my car would barely start/run and told me to bring it in the next day and I drove up there because they told me to bring it in and I broke down on the side of the rode on the way there then they told me I was straight outta luck. read more

Once again the best service repair in town. We got towed in at 9AM, they had a diagnoses within an hour and by that afternoon we were up and running again. Working on a 2005 Chevy Aveo can be tricky, they explained we have replaced enough large ticket items like the radiator, brakes and discs, that replacing a coil, spark plugs and an oil change would give us a lot more mileage. We even have brand new tires so if repair was possible it was preferable. It practically sings running down the road and they have saved my daughter a ton of money considering car prices today. They go the extra mile to be affordable, definitely recommend and will be back for work on my car soon! read more

Do not do business with these people. Desperate or not. 9/10 they are understaffed and that is the start of most of the issues. They will hold your vehicle for days and days longer than the expected timeline. They told me they would call me back the next day for a diagnosis and plan for execution i had to blow them up to get some type of competent answer for days. One person would say one thing just for another person to not have a clue what was going on. It is like pulling teeth trying to get in contact with personnel Then try to charge you 175 a hour for labor. I needed a new cooling fan system. They took almost a week to install said fan. Just for a 850 dollar bill for a cooling fan install Its like they hold your car for days and days and days corner you almost then smack you in the face with a outrageous ticket. There are a plethora of better options in town. I do not mean to defame you all like this but how yall did business was terrible. read more

For the longest time, I have taken my car directly to the dealership even though I knew I could get service done cheaper elsewhere. I first came to Precision because of the great reviews. I have since returned because of the fair prices, great customer service and availability. I have never had to make an appointment and I have no complaints about the amount of time I have had to wait. For a basic oil change, I have always been in and out. For a more extensive service, I have never waited more than 1-2 hours. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I love that I can get what I need and not try to be "sold" to spend more money for unnecessary services. I have even gotten advice from them on how to save money for repairs! One thing I did not like when I went to the dealerships was that something else was always "wrong" or "needed" on my car and the total for all of their recommendations always = more money. Precision usually has a coupon on their website for a few dollars off and these savings add up. I also like that they offer a loyalty card which adds up to a free oil change. Lastly, there is an option to save 10% just for paying cash so come prepared. I definitely recommend them and will be returning. read more

I needed to get a broken electical connector on a starter cable replaced so I had my truck towed there on a Thursday evening because it's in walking distance of my home. Friday morning I was the first one in the door when they opened at 8am and was told that they were down one technicion so they may not get to it today but would "definitly" get to it on Saturday. On Saturday I was told that they were finishing up two big jobs and again would not get to my small job that day. On Monday they were closed due to a storm that missed Tallahassee so I guess they don't like to work on rainy days? On Tuesday I walked there to get the status and again was told they were down to one technicion and again would not get to my job that a one arm technicion could complete in an hour. So It's now been five days and I still don't know when I'll get my truck back. Needless to say I will never again use this totally inept establishment and hope that nobody else does either. If there were such a thing as a negitive rating Precision Tune would certainly qualify for it. read more

Not only are the customer service staff very efficient and knowledgeable, but their mechanics are also friendly and approachable. This place deserves no stars as they ripped my elderly grandmother out of 683.00 When she showed up and signed a piece of paper for only having spark plugs did. When she returned for her car they handed her a piece of paper with hand written codes saying that's the paper she signed. It's fraud and completely unacceptable. Before any work extra that will be done she should have been contacted. we will be reaching out to the news and also BBB. We will not stop here because the lady was very nasty. Everyone have had their own experience. As a business owner myself who have been serving the Tampa Bay Area for over 9 years especially dealing with the elderly is sad. !!Warning!! They use the incorrect oil viscosity!! At my first visit, this establishment put a different oil viscosity in my truck than what is labeled on my oil cap and different from factory requirements as stated in the owners manual. I have always had the required oil viscosity replaced in my vehicle until Precision Tune used the incorrect oil viscosity. When I called to ask then to reference my invoice and tell me what oil viscosity was replaced in my truck, the woman confirmed the same as is documented on my invoice. When I explained that my year, make and model requires a thinner oil viscosity, she explained that the mechanics notes stated that they did use the proper oil in my truck, but when I explained that my truck motor has now suffered catastrophic failure, she started talking over me and ultimately hung up on me. When I arrived at the location to speak with a manager, this woman that hung up on me was the manager. I asked to have a copy of my invoice showing the mechanics notes, she yelled at me and told me to leave. She refused to provide any documentation to me and called the police, even though I showed her my copy of the invoice that documents them using the incorrect oil viscosity. I was treated like a criminal for trying to get the documentation that she claimed to prove me wrong. As I walked outside after being yelled at, she said that "I looked it up and you drove 4,000 miles and blew up your own motor." However, the synthetic oil change sticker placed in my window was well before the mileage or date. I had to deal with the district manager, which after multiple broken appointments with me and my mechanic, finally showed up to inspect my truck, but after the motor was removed. This district manager emailed me their copy of my invoice, and he confirmed that the documents only show that the incorrect oil viscosity was used. After a 30 minute inspection, this district manager sent me an email that my truck damages were not oil related and them using the incorrect oil viscosity didn't cause any damages to my truck. The district manager has refused to provide me with their insurance information or any additional information to support his claim. We've been to a LOT of auto care shops to get our oil changed and this place is the best in Tallahassee. We went in the middle of the day and wasn't there for more than 30 min. This is truly a team of professionals at this location. My vehicle broke down in the Walgreens parking lot and I thought it was my battery. When I attempted to jump start my vehicle, the cables started smoking (had them on wrong). I walked over to them for the first time and they did not hesitate to come over and assist me. After jumping the vehicle, the battery still would not hold and I tried driving it ovr but it died very quckly. Once again I went and asked for assistance and they came out and pushed my vehicle into a safe space for me. They told me what the problem was and I will be using them to get my vehicle repaired. My two youngest sons, Angelo and Nathan, went there for an oil change in November. They were told that the tie rods were so bad that they shouldn't even drive out of the shop (over $700 worth of work. I had already told them no and we would get our mechanic to look at it. They were then told by the lady at the counter that if they didn't fix it, she was going to have to call the insurance company and report us and that our rates would probably go up as a result (the boys told me this that night). I took the car to my mechanic (B&L in Havana/Quincy). Brent has been my mechanic for over a decade and is one of the most honest mechanics I know. In his words, "Doug, the tie rods were all in great shape, the boots were too. I can come to one conclusion...they were lying to you trying to get your money". Today, I went to their manager, Annette. Annette was from the beginning, defensive and dismissive (not at all what you want in your senior leadership and is the first sign of a bad organization). She did not acknowledge the issue. She said that no one there would have said that. When she asked what I want, I simply replied that I would like them not to lie to teens to try to get money that was for repairs not needed". She said, "Sir, you are going to leave, this conversation is over". Since then, I have had several people contact me, including a co-worker, that had the exact same experience there. One had a quote of $1500 worth of work and they attempted to strong arm her into the work. She took it to her mechanic and the mechanic said there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I went in last night to see about my tire having a slow leak. The guy tells me, "I pulled out a tiny nail but there is no leak. My tire pressure gauge is broken, though. I've checked everything, there is no leak." I leave and go home, and come back outside to check my car an hour later and it's sitting on rim. Now I'm at Pep Boys the next morning to get it actually fixed. And I'm now missing work due to this. Never going here again. I've given way too many chances for this place anyway. read more

They tried to charge me $100 to replace a light bulb in my car because they, "have to remove the entire bumper to access the headlight" The access port for the headlight is in the wheel well, I just don't own the correct screwdriver bit to do the job myself. They are inexperienced and will do whatever they can to try to boost the cost of you visit, even if it means lying to the customer's face. Would not recommend. read more

I took my car in for an oil change. When I got the car back there were 2 giant grease foot prints on my tan floor mat and a fresh streak across my speaker. The tech came out, apologized and said he would clean it. They had to go buy the carpet cleaner. I asked the Office Manager if they used floor mats. She said they had just ordered some and they were currently out of them. I asked her to come look at the car. She and the Manager came and looked. The manager apologized. I said this was unacceptable and he said "what do you want me to do, I apologized", like that was supposed to make it all go away and be OK. I told him that sometimes an apology does not make up for the loss. He seemed to think the whole situation was humorous (especially that my loss was upsetting me) and walked inside laughing...told me to "have a blessed day", you know, in that tone when you really mean get lost, I don't care. I spent $1000 in this shop last week. I doubt I will be back with that kind of service. Carelessness, crassness, disconcern, insulting comments. Now I have to make a second trip to the shop today and waste my time (as if it has no value) for them to clean the carpet when none of this should have ever happened in the first place if the business was run properly. They should have found SOMETHING to cover the carpet if greasy feet are unavoidable....trash bags, drop cloth, cardboard, something! I have pictures but this review does not allow them. read more
