Not that we wanted it to happen this way but twice in six months we've had the opportunity to do business with University. The first time was fixing a "dumbass" accident where I rear-ended a much larger SUV. The driver didn't want to pursue a claim. I was OK with that but still wanted to fix my relatively new car. Since I preferred not to submit a claim to my insurance, the owner Stan explained several ways in which we could approach the repairs. We agreed on strategy and they did a great job without having to replace parts. I spent less than my deductible and got the car back in fourlq days. Had it not been raining it would have been three days. Car number 2 got rear ended and had significantly more damage. This is where Jen's expertise kicked in. She helped coordinate all of the communication between the insurance companies to the point that we dropped of the car off, picked up the rental at the same time and waited for their call. In three days they were done, the estimate was exactly what we paid and they arranged for the rental to be picked up. The entire experience was very easy and pleasant As far as the quality of work, I am very pleased. The shut lines and panel fit were perfect. The paint color match is perfect. There are no squeaks and rattles. I am absolutely happy and would recommend them to anyone. If you're a student or the parent of a student, there is nothing to worry about. They'll take great care of you as long as you have the patience to deal with your insurer. That's a variable no one can control. read more

They over charge for towing. I do not recommend them. $825 for a tow for about 30 miles from 98 near St Mark to Tallahassee. Yes they were coming from Monticello. This is unreasonable and taking advantage of someone who hit a bear and stuck out in the middle of nowhere. $500 would have been more than it should have been but maybe more understandable considering the drive. They rip off people stranded. read more

My brand new van got backed into and I called around to get a quote for repairs from several local bodyshops. University Collision was able to get me in the same day for a quote. They examined the car, noted the damage (finding additional damage the first bodyshop I visited hadn't noticed) and then quoted me less money to do more work than the other place. Everyone was really kind and knowledgable and I decided to go with University. They estimated two weeks for the repair. I was happily surprised when they called me after only three business days, saying my car was ready to pick up. They did a great job on the repair, too. I hope I don't need bodywork in the future, but if I do, I will definitely use them again. read more

Unfortunately I have had to use their service a few times. Plus they have worked on my family and I send friends. On Fathers Day a young girl ran a stop light and totaled my cool older Nissan. I purchased a new Nissan and in 10 days a very nice man backed into my new car. Obviously I was very upset. When I picked my vehicle up after the repairs were complete I looked at the repair and was happy, but I did not look at it carefully. Now that I have had if for some time and have really looked at it. I am amazed at the quality of work that UCC did. It truly looks like the brand new car I purchased. UCC does amazing work. Tim, the owner, lacks customer service skills to say the least. He was rude, inconsiderate, and dismissive. He was honest and straightforward, but unnecessarily rude with a condescending attitude. I recommended a friend to go there and even he told me that Tim was rude to him as well. I don't recommend to go there if you're of color or black because he's the type to make you uncomfortable towards or dark skinned people. It feels like I wasn't worth his time even though I was will to pay whatever the cost of the issue. read more

My wrecked car was towed to University Collision Center's storage lot, where it awaited my insurance company to come evaluate the damage. Then my insurance company decided to move the car to Copart in Midway, FL. I contacted UCC to ask when I could come by and sign a release for my insurance company to move the car. I talked with Tim, who suggested I leave the car where it was, and have it put on his repair schedule. I asked if he had seen the car yet, and he had not. So while I was on the phone with him, he walked back to the storage lot behind UCC to look at it. As soon as he laid eyes on it, he said he would not TOUCH that repair. That he wouldn't put his kids in that car (if a repair was attempted), and he wouldn't put a customer back in that car. The damage was in a place that compromised the safety of the unibody frame. All this to say: Tim is a man of integrity and really really cares about his customers - even potential customers! After an accident you need fast, reliable car repair help and advice. Tim Marshall was helpful in assisting me with making a decision about whether to repair the car or salvage it. He could have encouraged me to repair it at our cost. We didn't have collision on the car due to its age. Since it was a Toyota we considered repairing it but Tim advised us not to because there was just too much damage. When you have a daughter away from home at college and she wrecks her car it's very unsettling, to say the least. From start to finish, my experience with University Collision Center was top notch. My car was damaged on the quarter panel in a minor car accident and I brought it to Tim and his crew for a preliminary look over where they confirmed my suspicions that the other driver's insurance company had greatly underestimated the cost for repairs. They were kind enough to explain to me the process and how I needed to get the proper estimate to the insurance company. After dropping the car off, the insurance company denied the estimate that University Collision Center had submitted stating that the damages were not caused by the accident. I called Tim after getting no where with the insurance company and he got on the phone with them and it was settled within hours. After all of his help with getting things situated, I wasn't too concerned with how the repairs would turn out and was just happy to have them covered. I picked up my car yesterday and I couldn't even tell where the damage had been located. I've had prior work done on this car, and this far exceeds anything done in the past. I have a 2012 Volvo that my brother was involved in an accident a few months back, the tow man who came to get me that night was from University Collision Center and the next day when deciding where to take my car, my dad and I weren't turned away from taking it to Capital City Volvo and brought it to University Collision where we were "assured" it would be fixed. What my Dad and I were unaware of was that this body shop wasn't under Geico's specific bodyshops where their warranty applied, so the adjuster and the owner of this shop failed to tell us that and now my car, which has no warranty for the parts fixed, is still not right. I have been to two other shops and they found more wrong with my car in hours, than Firestone and University found in months, I have gotten the district manager of Geico's adjusters on this claim to finally get it resolved and 7 months later my car is still in the shop. My advice, if you want your car fixed correctly, spend some more time shopping around. read more

I am a 21 year old woman who just moved to Tallahassee and I was in a car wreck two weeks ago. State Farm suggested I use University Collision Center as they are supposedly #1 in Tallahassee. They certainly fixed my car quickly but their customer service (See: front desk) is abysmal so don't expect even a smile out of her. Unfortunately, they called me on Friday at 3pm to pressure me into picking my car up because they finished a week early and threatened me with my insurance company if I couldn't get back in town by then. Very stressed, I called State Farm and was sure to get them to pay for my rental through the weekend but when I came to pick my car up on Monday (today) they weren't even done! They had to send someone to my house to pinstripe my car for me and that was when I realized there was grit in my paint job! So I went back to the shop and they assured me it could be buffed out and lo and behold 45 minutes later there are still spots in my paint job. No worries, I thought to myself, I'll speak to the owner. Who proceeded to YELL at me outside of his shop because since *I* had wrecked my car multiple times this was the best paint job they could offer. I have never wrecked my car, I am a fabulous driver. The people who work here are abhorrent. Their behavior and obvious sexism is disgusting and I will never use them again - no one even apologized for me having to come back to the shop! Not happy. And don't plan on going back to mention the "Satisfaction Guaranteed for Life" policy! I only had one panel that needed to be repaired. I was told the color would match - that they had technology to match it perfect and would be in an expert if needed. It did not match - despite all I was told. Granted it was a difficult color - but that is what they promised. I left in tears! When I returned, I was told that was the "closest" they could get. I returned again because a related part was not working. So the repairman tried to find out what was going on....while eating his sub sandwich leaning over my car. Wires were never re-connected when the repair job was done. Fixed for a few hours. When I repaired again, for the same issue, the guy got all pissed throwing his hands in the air and yelling at someone to fix it again. The color still does not match. I should have listened to the other review which they told me was from a "competitor". Boy,...did I learn a lesson! read more
