Do not use Tallahassee Auto Clinic especially if you're a college parent and you can't be there…read morewith the vehicle. Recently my daughters Jeep Commander has been losing anti-freeze, with no visible signs. I was at a loss because the water pump, hoses and radiator cap were all less than six months old. I had my daughter drop the Jeep off at Tallassee Auto Clinic; they're the ones who replaced the hoses. When I telephoned to inquire about the status of the vehicle I was informed the water pump was bad, additionally I was informed the brakes, air-filter and a serpentine belt all needed replacing. I knew the water pump should be under warranty and I just replaced the air-filter two months ago. I contacted the local mechanic (Steve Johnson Automotive) in Fernandina Beach, Florida who replaced the water pump. He advised I should locate a mechanic in the Napa Car Care Center Network, in Tallahassee. After paying $129.90 for a diagnostic test and anti-freeze the Jeep was then taken to American Transmission and Auto, who were able to diagnose the problem. Which was Tallahassee Auto Clinic failed to fully tighten the lower radiator hose explaining the missing anti-freeze. I was charged nothing by American Transmission and Auto, who will be our go to mechanic from now on. Tallahassee Auto Clinic also failed to replace to the Intake Tube which connects the air-filter box to the intake manifold, before allowing our daughter to remove the vehicle from the shop. I contacted Tallahassee Auto Clinic and spoke with Amber I expressed my dissatisfaction with their business and explained I felt I was due compensation $129.90 for the inaccurate diagnostic test. I informed Amber I would allow time for the manager to contact me, after six hours I never received a phone call with a compensation offer or an apology. In my opinion Tallahassee Auto Clinic is in the business of ripping off the parents of college kids.

Always fast, efficient and high quality oil changes and service. They go above and beyond to take…read morecare of their customers. They don't try to upsell you or sell you things you don't need (i.e. window wipers every time you go in, the most expensive oil for a car that doesn't need it, additional unnecessary additives, etc.). If they try to add something, do it, because you need it. They are hardworking and honest, and treat everyone with respect. I despise places where they treat women like ignorant creatures only to be ripped off, which happens at pretty much any major chain, like Super Lube. Oh, wait, due to being overpriced and treating people poorly for so long they had to change their name to "Take 5" in an attempt to escape the bad reputation they earned for overcharging, overselling and horrible customer service. You will not experience that at Tommy T's. They treat you like family. Respectfully, like they would their mother, father, brother or sister. Another bonus? I have never felt creeped out or uncomfortable like I have at other places. I'm an outgoing, independent woman who does not rattle or get intimidated easily, but several places here in town have questionable employees who make you uncomfortable, using perceived opportunities to hit on customers. Ugh. No one wants that! Tommy T's takes additional time to listen or thoroughly explain things without frustration. I've never had a negative experience in the 15 years I've lived in Tallahassee. I just wish they had another location on the NE side of town!

Questionable mechanical work and ZERO quality control checks by anyone. Had a simple truck lift…read moredone there last summer. Supposedly this is their bread and butter so you'd think they would be good at it. Ordered the high end kit so parts were not a problem. After the work was done had to take it back several times for small but important things that should have been caught by an experienced installer or during QC review. A few months later, the kit was falling apart because it wasn't installed properly (lights & warnings going off on dash). Finally took to another shop and found instead of using the bolts that came with the kit (specialized parts needed for this kit), they had used whatever was laying around. Suspension was in danger of coming loose. Luckily, parts were covered by warranty but had to pay a different shop to reinstall and tighten everything up. Sad to see a local place, that has been around so long fall into to such sloppy and dangerous workmanship.
