I highly recommend Auto Experts on N. Monroe St. we have used them almost exclusively for the last eight or nine years, since they've been opened in this location. Based on my experience I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Let me give you a couple of examples - on at least three occasions now over the years, we got the estimate, and later got a phone call / text from the shop indicating that a part wasn't needed or that part did not need to be replaced, and they took it off the bill. When they could've just as easily let it go because we had already excepted the bid and charged us the full amount. But Lane and his crew are not that way - they are honest And do excellent work. We have never had to take a repair back because it was improperly completed. read more

Had my daughter bring cat in to replace radiator, spent about $900 on radiator and new hoses. She drives the car back home and I check it out. Low on oil. Massive amounts of oil under car. Turns out the oil cooler lines were loose which thread into new radiator, very loose. I ended up tightening the lines myself in my driveway. read more

My repairs are always done quickly at a reasonable price. They inspect the vehicle and let me know what else I should be thinking about but never try to hard sell another service or repair that I haven't requested. Good auto repair shops are hard to find. This is one of the best. They're keeping my 14 year old Jeep on the road. That's good because I can't afford a new one. read more

Sorry to see the previous three lukewarm reviews. As for me, in October 2018, at the Capital Circle, NE location, I received: Superb service, excellently and quickly done, and at a surprisingly low price -- about half the dealer labor rate. My issue was the replacement of a failed electronic/display-screen unit. I probably got a little lucky with the super-quick turnaround. All that said, I couldn't be more satisfied with the customer and technical service. Kudos to Booth and John, and to "BT", who did the actual work. read more

I have been allowing these folks to do ALL work on my truck and my wife's car for over 20 years; everything from oil changes to tires, engine and brake repair- the works!!!! I have the highest regard for the office staff there (Lane, Bruce, and Chris); they have always shown the highest degree of professionalism and honesty when it came to repairs or replacement of our automotive needs. I never found there estimates to be unreasonable, and only once did I have an issue with work there, and then, it was due to a manufacturing defect in a tire I had purchased there. They are extremely timely in their repairs, and will shuttle you to your work when you drop your vehicle off. These folks are the real deal. No doubt about it. And they repair lawn equipment to boot!!!! read more

I never even made it to the building. I contacted them to get a price quote and the gentleman on the phone started barking questions at me. I could feel him sneering through the phone. That is how awful it was. I apologized for not knowing specifics and was in the middle of attempting to see if there was a way of finding out when he hung up on me. So the business just a few "doors" down earned my business with their pleasant and understanding demeanor. I wanted to leave this here for anyone who dares to ask a question from the Tallahassee area. Maybe he was having a bad day, but so was I and still I tried to be kind. I have used both locations of Auto Experts and know many of the guys by name (I have two older autos). They have always worked with me and treated me kindly. They feel like neighbors. I drive through North and Central Florida for work and put on many miles on my older cars. I never felt that these guys misled me and I feel that they always tried to work things out for me. This is not the cheapest shop in town but they aren't crazy expensive and I trust their work. read more

I would never ever recommend this location for Auto Experts. They blatantly lied about my issues after I returned for having work done at this location. I went n for an AC check and recharge, which they did but two days later had to go back because my AC stopped working completely. Then they explained it would need almost a $1000 to fix........because the parts were so rare. I then drove across town had it checked at an HONEST garage and they explained the schader? valve was loose, replaced it for free and only charged for Freon....less that $50.00. DO NOT GO TO AUTO EXPERTS...IF THEY ARE TALKING THEY ARE LYING TO YOU. read more

Auto Xperts is quick, cheap and friendly. They told me exactly what was wrong with my car. The owner was very friendly and explained step by step what was wrong with my car. I recommended auto xperts to all my friends and every time they went in they said they would go there for now on. I have been to most of the auto shops in Tallahassee and none of them was as friendly and quick as Auto Xperts. read more

These are the worst "Auto Experts' in the history of cars. I took my super clean 1972 Sedan Deville to these guys after the firestone down the street recommended them. I took my car to them February 27,2014. I didn't receive my car back until May 7,2014. The reason they gave was that two of their mechanics quit on them. They diagnosed it for not starting and told me they were 99% sure that the timing had jumped. It took over a month to diagnose that problem. I told them to go ahead and fix it. While they were @ it, I asked them to replace the radiator, get the a/c running correctly and to fix an exhaust leak. When they did finally get finished I flew in to pick up my car for the total of 2,657.27. I drove to Orlando where I was for about a month. While in Orlando I went by a shop and they advised me that Auto Experts installed the wrong radiator in my car. I was headed to California and my a/c stopped blowing cold. It just so happened I was 2 1/2 hours from Tallahassee when it did. I stopped and got a room. I took it to them early the next morning. I brought to their knowledge about the radiator. One of the mechanics told me that it indeed was the wrong radiator. That was a replacement radiator and was made of plastic. The correct radiator that I needed was in fact $280.00 more than the one they said they had no idea of knowing was the wrong one. Which by the way also came out of my pocket. He also advised me that that was the reason why my compressor stopped working. He said it couldn't have been anything else. They put the new one in and I was on my way. I got five miles up 10W and my car started blowing hot air again. I called and notified them and they said they could change the compressor because everything else was brand new. But, they couldn't get to it until the next day. I ended up having to get another room for something that wasn't my fault. I took it to them that morning and was in there from 10:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. They said the man brought the wrong compressor. Finally, they tell me i'm ready to go. He said I shouldn't have any problems. But, if I did to just call the number on the invoice for the warranty and they would take care of it in any city and state. He advised me to let the air run so the oil could circulate through the compressor. I get on 10w again. I get about 15 miles out of Tallahassee and it starts blowing hot again. I call them and ask am I still suppose to keep it running with it running hot? The mechanic says "oh lord" in utter dis-belief. They said they had to get another compressor. I told them I was already out of Tallahassee. They told me whatever city I stop in to call the number for the warranty. I get 40 miles outside of Mobile and start smelling something burning. I pull over to check it out and smoke is everywhere. Antifreeze is going everywhere. The compressor completely blew up. Keep in mind this was just yesterday and it was storming in Mobile. The defrost wouldn't even work. I had to sit on the side of the road until I could see long and good enough to make it to Mobile, Al. I'm putting a lawyer on these people. They are not right @ all. If you love you car I would advise you to find you some trustworthy people to work on it. These people are not who you want to deal with. read more
