DTs Garage I…read morestumbled over DTs Garage 7 years ago and have been grateful ever since. Are you as tired and wary of auto repair shops and mechanics as I was? Are you tired of being ripped off because they always find something more to repair or charge you an arm and a leg more than they estimated? At first I could hardly believe the owners were class A mechanics that also had an encyclopedic knowledge of virtually anything related to a vehicle you could think of. They actually talked to me like I was an intelligent person who understood my problem and could explain how to fix it in normal language. Not only that they gave me a reasonable estimate of repairs and guaranteed the price before they started repair. The estimate remained solid even if they had to do more to fix it. As you know, this doesn't happen except in your dreams, but here it is guaranteed policy. The last time I was there I thought I might need a new headlight. Nope, just five minutes of my time and a no-charge simple fix that works just fine. Saved me about $400 thank you and have a great day. So do yourself a favor and drop by DTs Garage the next time you need your vehicle repaired or just checked out. You'll be glad you did, like I was.

On the day before dropping my daughter off at FSU, her air conditioning wasn't blowing cold air. It's a 2008 Honda Accord. Since I couldn't get an appointment at my local garage in Jax, I tried to fix it myself with one of the Freon Recharge kits and I apparently accidentally put too much even though it registered green on the gauge, which caused the whole system to stop working I was at My local JAX garage at 7:30 am when they opened to see if they could put gauges on it to try to get the freon levels correct. They took it to the back and the tech said the system would potentially need a full overhaul drain and refill and they wouldn't be willing to do that unless I was prepared that that could cause me to need m an entire new AC system at over $2,000 AND they potentially needed to keep the car for few days. They wouldn't touch it unless I was prepared for the worst. We had to leave to go to Tallahassee, so I decided to find a shop in town to take the car to. I found DT's off Yelp and called and Elon was kind enough to say he would take a look at the system and evaluate it. It was a simple fix of just adjusting down the Freon to the proper levels and he and his team did it and gave the car a through inspection with a simple request for me to just get my future work on both my kids cars done at his place! My husband and I were on our way from Central Texas to Englewood Florida for vacation with friends…read morewhen our truck broke down on I-10 just west of Tallahassee. The awesome wrecker driver from Lawson's Paint and Body brought us to Powerhouse. As you can imagine,we were pretty frustrated. We were a day and a half into a long road trip, for vacation, and had no idea how serious the breakdown was. Both Jim, the owner, and Phil, the manager, went way above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and entertain us. The first thing Phil said when he introduced himself was "I want to put y'all at ease. " And he did. They have a really nice waiting room with sofas, a big screen tv, reading material, and a little kitchen.  Phil even offered -- no, almost insisted -- to bring us food from a nearby fast food place, though we declined. And the bathroom was clean and even smelled nice! Luckily, they were able to repair the truck relatively easily and quickly, just a couple of hours. They even off our transmission fluid. Importantly, they didn't have enough mechanics on duty at the time to get to us right away, but knowing that we were on the road and broken down and stuck, Jim did the repairs himself. When Phil noticed the Navy stickers on my husband's truck, they bonded over having been in the Navy at the same time, and gave us a military discount on the already VERY reasonable bill. Neither of us has EVER had such amazing service from auto repair, and we've had some great mechanics!

Shop owners went above and beyond with one of my most valued gifts; my daughter. Took her car in for issues that we've been chasing for almost a year (at a different shop). I initially tried to give them a detailed description of all that has been done and luckily they asked to look at it with a 'fresh pair of eyes'. Much to my surprise, given the thousands of dollars I've already poured into this car, they FIXED it! Diagnostic took longer than the fix. This job required skilled and patient professionals, which is exactly what we got when we walked into this shop. Communicated with me every step of the way. Unfortunately, I handed them a half broken key fob, which I forgot to tell them. As expected it broke after a test drive. When they called to notify me of what happened, I apologized profusely as it was MY fault. Now some of you may think, oh well, the key broke while in their possession, so it's their responsibility to fix it. I couldn't disagree more, however, they still took it upon themselves to get me a new key. Their rationale - I didn't need the added headache after all the trouble this car had already caused. I didn't think it was possible, there are still some businesses out there with integrity. I wouldn't trust any other mechanic to ensure my daughter is in a safe and functional vehicle.

Shawn and Todd…read moretook care of my car, and from start to finish, everything was handled with professionalism and care. Todd greeted me and asked what I was looking for and what services I needed. Shawn performed the oil change and took the time to explain the entire process thoroughly, which I really appreciated. It's rare to find this level of transparency and customer care in automotive service today. They even offered me a cold bottle of water while I waited, and both were kind enough to have a friendly conversation as they worked. Although the service took a bit longer than the usual 10-15 minutes, the outstanding customer service made it absolutely worth it. I don't live in this area, but I truly wish more mechanic shops had a Shawn and a Todd on their team. Now I understand why their ratings are so high -- top-notch quality service like this doesn't happen often. Highly recommend!

I don't have small children but they have a kid area with glass so you can see them while they play. They are right next to my house offer 3 year alignment for 120 bucks and check it at every tire rotation. I wish the dealer did not do my oil because I would for sure be here for that to. They examined the car, noted the damage (finding additional damage the first bodyshop I visited hadn't noticed) and then quoted me less money to do more work than the other place. Everyone was really kind and knowledgable and I decided to go with University. They estimated two weeks for the repair. I was happily surprised when they called me after only three business days, saying my car was ready to pick up. They did a great job on the repair, too. I hope I don't need bodywork in the future, but if I do, I will definitely use them again.
