Are you tired of being ripped off because they always find something more to repair or charge you an arm and a leg more than they estimated? At first I could hardly believe the owners were class A mechanics that also had an encyclopedic knowledge of virtually anything related to a vehicle you could think of. They actually talked to me like I was an intelligent person who understood my problem and could explain how to fix it in normal language. Not only that they gave me a reasonable estimate of repairs and guaranteed the price before they started repair. The estimate remained solid even if they had to do more to fix it. As you know, this doesn't happen except in your dreams, but here it is guaranteed policy. The last time I was there I thought I might need a new headlight. Nope, just five minutes of my time and a no-charge simple fix that works just fine. Saved me about $400 thank you and have a great day. So do yourself a favor and drop by DTs Garage the next time you need your vehicle repaired or just checked out. You'll be glad you did, like I was.

On the day before dropping my daughter off at FSU, her air conditioning wasn't blowing cold air. It's a 2008 Honda Accord. Since I couldn't get an appointment at my local garage in Jax, I tried to fix it myself with one of the Freon Recharge kits and I apparently accidentally put too much even though it registered green on the gauge, which caused the whole system to stop working I was at My local JAX garage at 7:30 am when they opened to see if they could put gauges on it to try to get the freon levels correct. They took it to the back and the tech said the system would potentially need a full overhaul drain and refill and they wouldn't be willing to do that unless I was prepared that that could cause me to need m an entire new AC system at over $2,000 AND they potentially needed to keep the car for few days. They wouldn't touch it unless I was prepared for the worst. We had to leave to go to Tallahassee, so I decided to find a shop in town to take the car to. I found DT's off Yelp and called and Elon was kind enough to say he would take a look at the system and evaluate it. It was a simple fix of just adjusting down the Freon to the proper levels and he and his team did it and gave the car a through inspection with a simple request for me to just get my future work on both my kids cars done at his place! I visited Professional Automotive partly because it was located close to where I work and partly because Furrin advised that their shop doesn't work on Nissans as frequently as their other location (PAC on Gaines Street). The service writer at PAC was friendly enough, he gave me a reasonable quote over the phone to have my A/C recharged (assuming that was the problem). I dropped it off, walked to work, and after not receiving any phone call as to the status, I gave them a call to inquire how it was all going. The gentleman said all was good and that he was just about to call me to come on by and get it. He was fine with me coming to get it later (at the end of my work day). The total bill was a bit higher than we had discussed on the phone (from $90 to $115) but he explained that my A/C was completely dry and they went through more supplies than anticipated. No problem, I was just happy to have cold air again. Upon entering the vehicle, I turned the A/C up to full blast and waited five minutes...and the entire five minutes I was being blown by HOT air. Ugh. I went back in, the service writer came out, verified that sure enough, whatever was causing the air to turn cold had either leaked out or..well I couldn't say for sure what had happened. He apologized profusely and asked me to bring it back the next day since the tech was already gone for the day. Not exactly a convenient option but I didn't have much choice, especially because I'd already paid them all of the money for the original service. He assured me that they would take care of it for no additional cost. I thought, well that sounds great, but if it means a new compressor, I hope that he stays true to his word! LOL The next day, the gentleman stayed true to his word. They accepted the keys and I trudged back to work (praying that my compressor wasn't busted). As it turned out, no compressor problem; just a leak in one of the hoses. They took care of the leak, recharged the A/C and voila! The Z has cold air to this day. I do think that they operated based off of my word when diagnosing the vehicle and that was ultimately the mistake that caused the loss of supplies and required my return trip the next day. Barring that forgivable oversight, I definitely trust these guys with my orangey and would bring it back for service in the future.
