I experienced a flat tire and had my car towed to this location. Obviously, this was unexpected so we didn't have an appointment. They put in an appointment for us at 5:00 pm but told us they would work to get us in earlier. We were serviced at 3:30 and back on the road well before 5:00 pm. We bought our tires from Discount Tire which intitles you to have your tires rotated periodically. A couple of weeks ago, my wife took our FJ Cruiser to have that done. Normally, I check the torque on the wheel lug nuts to make sure they are correct. I didn't this time until our steering wheel started vibrating. (The brakes are only a few months old.) I checked the lug nut torque which is supposed to be 85 foot pounds. On just one wheel the readings ranged from 80 to over 125 foot pounds. I called and talked with Justin who identified himself as one of the assistant managers. I might just a well been talking to the neighbor's cat for all that accomplished. It's sad that this type of incompetence is so widespread in the world today. Oh, almost forgot the wheels that were only painted 4 months ago now have chips. If you go there, I would suggest you take an impact driver and torque wrench with you to check their work before you leave to avoid any damage to your lug studs, lug nuts and brake rotors. I don't know how much damage I have to my vehicle. read more

I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had with an auto service shop here. I came in simply to have a nail removed from my tire and was told it would be about a 2-hour wait. Instead, I waited over 3.5 hours and DID NOT FIX IT. When they finally handed me back my keys, I decided to double-check before leaving. To my shock, the nail was still in my tire and nothing had been fixed. When I brought it up immediately, the manager was called over -- and instead of apologizing or making it right, he told me there was "nothing he could do" and then tried to upsell me thousands of dollars in unnecessary work. I left with the same problem I came in with: a nail still stuck in my tire and air leaking out. This location wasted hours of my time, showed zero care for customer safety, and tried to take advantage of the situation. I would never recommend this shop to anyone. read more

BIG shout out to Discount Tire at 1507 Killearn Center Boulevard in Tallahassee. I picked up a screw in my tire while heading out for dinner last night. They removed the screw, patched the hole, and re-mounted the tire in about two hours. Their customer service was top notch, and they kept me informed by automated text messages every step of the way. The best part is they did it for free despite having full bays and a steady stream of paying customers all morning long! I had purchased a vehicle from out of state, flew into the area and planned to road trip 1,500 miles back home. When I picked up the vehicle the tires were so bad and so out of round I decided to get a hotel and see if I could get new tires the following morning. Found Discount Tire to have an office only a few blocks from the hotel, so I decided to take my chance as a walk in. The place was quite busy, so I figured I would be there a while. The gentleman who greeted me, sorry I have forgotten his name, was prompt in his welcome and thorough in his questioning. We discussed a few options, agreed on new tires and I sat to make some phone calls. it was less than 45 minutes and they had pulled my vehicle out and it was ready to go! Under promise, over deliver. I received such wonderful customer service from this location. Everyone was very knowledgeable and friendly. I had a couple of glitches. One was I paid for my tires and asked to have them leave the car out and I would pick it up later. Oops. The message didn't get to the right person and my car was locked in their bay. I had to return to discount tire because I yet had another screw in my tire. This time, my tire blew out on me before I made it to the shop. Immediately walking in, Ariel recognized who I was and mentioned me by name which was impressive because they see so many people a day. By the way, keep in mind I didn't have an appointment, I was a walk in. I showed him my tire and by that time the rim was sitting on the ground. He checked all of my other tires and within a couples of hours, my Malibu was back on the road rolling. Ariel helped me out again with my car. He's the best!!! My husband needed 2 tired replaced on his car and was able to make an appointment 2 days in advance. We were able to drop off the car at the appointment time that we made and the process was very easy. We left the car there and then received a text message about an hour later that the car was ready. I learned a valuable lesson today! I have been a Discount Tire customer for several years. I own several modified vehicles. My vehicles have aftermarket rims and tires. Discount Tire has done an amazing job helping me mod my vehicles. Store Manager Evan Gardner had told me in the past, "if you are going to upgrade your vehicle rims, buy them through us. If there are any problems during installation with rims or tires. Those problems/issues become mine. If you bring me rims and tires to install, I will help you as much as I can but, if there are any issues. Those issues will be yours." I have followed this advice in the past and everything went smooth. However, this time, I tried to save a few dollars and purchased the rims and tires myself. I brought them to this Discount Tire for my installation and it did not go very well. I had issues with my tire fitment. Luckily for me, Assistant Manager Sam Bridges was working and assisted me. Sam was extremely patient and professional with me. He gave me great advice and helped me brainstorm my options. Sam went out of his way for an issue that was really not his problem. We were able to locate a tire that would alleviate my tire issue. Sam located it, gave me a great price, and ordered it. A few days later, the tire arrived. Unfortunately, my tire issue was resolved but, now I had a rim fitment issue. Again, Assistant Manager Sam came to my rescue. He was able to educate me on where the problem was taking place. If I would have just ordered the rims through Discount Tire, the issue would be the stores problem but, since I brought them the rims and tires. The fitment issue was my problem. Again, Sam went out of his way to help me resolve the issue and even notifying the rim manufacturer of the fitment issue. Assistant Manager Sam did not have to do everything he did for me. He is a true professional with amazing customer service skills. I can assure you that I will never make this mistake again. From now on, I will just do like I had done in the past and order my rims/tires through Discount Tire. I have learned a valuable and priceless lesson! I had a great experience with this Discount Tire & staff especially the gentleman named Jacob who I believe was the store manager. I had to make a trip to here after my tire popped because of a nail. We came in around 4 (close to closing) waited in line for a little but Jacob made sure to let us know that we'd be taken care of. On Thursday I made an appointment with Hubert for 2:00 on Saturday and put a down payment on the tire I ordered for my daughter's car - one of her tires was slashed. When I arrived on time (after driving 400 miles from New Orleans) he was busy with someone else and didn't give me the time of day and never did provide me with service. Someone else did and after an hour was surprised when he realized I had an appointment. The manager of the place is a moron and simply doesn't know what he is talking about when it comes to tires (I researched DOT on trailers tires and you are dead wrong sir) I hope you are treated better, I'll never go back! Oh yeah, almost forgot, 23.50 for certificates for refund, replacement - I'm 62 and was in the tire business and never saw that one.
