I love this Precision Tune. Ladies, you know that thing that mechanics and car repair people do when they THINK we don't know anything about our cars? THAT DOESNT HAPPEN HERE. I had to get my brake caliper replaced today and was informed that I needed two front tires. (which was a no pressure situation and was only given facts) At no point in this whole interaction was I told what a brake caliper was, or made to feel like a dummy for having it needing replaced. Brian, (I think, I'm so sorry if that's not his name) broke down the price, suggested an alignment and decided on when to get those tires done. and they literally didn't pressure me or anything. I drive past a couple other locations to go to this Atlantic Avenue location. I've take all my vehicles to them for the past 3 years. Never ever had an issue or complaint. The manager was rude and lies. Went in because water was on the floor of the passenger side of my vehicle. I requested just an inspection to tell me what's wrong and what it would cost. which I was told would be free of charge. They had my car inside literally for 5 minutes and came back and said they blew out some debris and then charged me $95. The problem was still there, I went to another repair shop and he did the same thing told me there was no charge for blowing out the debris And t hen went further by telling me I needed to get my heater core fixed it possibly replaced as soon as possible... very difficult disappointed. This location must think all women are suckers. I went in for an oil change. When they were done they told me I had a rusty fuel filter and that I needed ALL of my fluids flushed, that they were black and smelled bad ("conveniently" they had a "deal" for me). I went home and checked my car. My fuel filter had no rust and my fluids were not new but they didn't need to be changed anytime soon. I returned to this location to confront them. The response: "It wasn't me. Have a free oil change coupon". I have been to a lot of different precision tune locations and I will never be back to this one, Don't waste your time here. read more

The managers there do not try to up sell me on more service then I paid for if something additional is wrong with my car they simplely let me know whats wrong and how much the cost is and the choice is completely up to me if I want to get it fixed or not, with no pressure at all. Went in for oil change, left with broken car. I waited over an hour for a simple oil change. They got my car in quick then snapped a wheel stud with the lug nut still on the stud when they tried to remove a wheel. Then they just starred at it wondering "what do we do now?" The manager finally showed me what was wrong and said it came in like that. Told them to take my car down. Never changed my oil. I had to take it to a Real mechanic, not a grease monkey, to fix it. Cost a hundred bucks to fix. My wife went in for an inspection and they made her get a new timing belt before they passed it. It was fine last I checked. I will Never go back. The new management is shady and will lie and cheat you out of money! Stay away! read more

Came here for something simple was charged a ridiculous amount of money. Already supposedly preformed service to my vehicle before the price change notification. Barry the manager told the me the price for my service was one thing them climbed up almost 1100 dollars!!!!! On top of that the manager was flirting with every female that walked in the door offering discounts for services performed very similar to my service . but when it was time for me to check out my lack of blond hair and breast did not get me any discounts. Terrible manager was even married and complained about his wife. Guy was very distracted by the females that a customer left without even paying for a diagnostic tests which is around 90 something dollars. To make matters worse I went somewhere else and there was a price difference by 900 dollars. They even said I was ripped off and didn't get what I paid for. My parts were not replaced just cleaned off. I would have done better going to Nissan. I would not recommend this place to get services done prices way to high. This place is nothing but do best is take your money. I got my brakes done almost 8 months ago and I have just issues left to right. From needing new brakes to apparently needing a new caliper. Weird. Well I took it back a second time because they were going to fix the problem. Unfortunately they did not. It's even worse I today had to take a part the rear side brake on the passenger side. Well I come to find out one of the pads is not even changed. I am very upset that they rather cheat you out your money than make sure your safe. I called to find out how long for an oil change, was told under an hour. I went over and asked again and told the same thing. So I left my car and walked a couple miles to run some errands, came back an hour and a half later to find my car untouched and the keys left in the ignition, still parked, with no apology from anyone about not even touching my car. ABORT ABORT: Please save your self, your money & YOUR VEHICLE! These people have no idea what they are doing... We took our new Dodge Dart (turbo engine) for a simple oil change, after waiting for over 2HOURS the mechanic said they were done. We drove it literally 6 mi to a friends and here we go. The engine all of a sudden (before we turned it off after parking it) made a loud noise with a sudden jolt and began to idle extremely aggressively and everything started shaking. We immediately popped the hood- smoke- we then turned the car off and decided to check the oil. The amount of oil that was in it was just short of being COMPLETELY FULL (like the whole oil pan) Way too much oil was in our car. With the engine off now, we called precision tune and we told them what had happened. They told us to bring it back up there and they'd take a look at it... HAH! A brand new car that we are still making payments on and you want us to risk REALLY messing something up by driving it all the way back? We told him he needed to send a tow truck because we weren't risking it. Finally the tow truck showed up we got back to precision tune and the "boss man" was very rude and extremely unhappy about having to pay the tow truck driver. He then began to state how "it couldn't have been them and that it was probably a pre existing problem that coincidentally happened after they changed the oil" (a "pre existing problem" in a brand new car with less than 50,000 mi on it... Sure) So the mechanics are looking it over and they bring it back inside to open the hood again... They had put the COMPLETE WRONG type oil in it (for those who don't know, turbos take only all synthetic oil-they put regular in it) and way too much which was causing the spark plugs to misfire making it jolt and jump. As they were beginning the process, one mechanic BROKE the turbo valve completely off. (WOW) we told the mechanic he would have to fix it he said, "I'll see what I can do". We also stated that the spark plugs were going to have to be changed. He argued with us that he was only going to change ONE. We said no sir, your going to change all of them. Once again we got, "I'll see what I can do". Long story (a little shorter) they had to keep our vehicle-our ONLY means of transportation- for 3 days. The general manager drove from cary to bring us a rental because the staff there were so unhelpful and just rude as ever. there is no precision here. Don't waste you time. We almost lost a huge investment. read more

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!! I take my 1998 Ford f150 in for a check engine light on and also a windshield wiper motor repair. Well 672.23 later my truck as soon as I leave the shop starts to run bad. I literally drove it 20 miles and it starts shaking and my brakes go out. I call bake and speak with Barry and he states that just bring it back in well take a look at your brakes. NO way im no going to give this place anymore of my money. First off he lied to me as if I don't know inspections. He suggested that I get my upper and lower control arms replaced. I said no just fix what I need to pass inspection. He states with out fixing the control arms I wont pass inspection. I tell him inspection deals with emissions and signals light,horn and so on. he tells me no it also deals with safety. That should have been the red flag! I will not ever take any of my vehicles there anymore. Please stay away from the precision auto tune on Atlantic . THEY RIP YOU OFF!!!! read more

My experience was terrible. I went in for brakes and to front tires. I was told that there was a long list of things wrong with the car, total over $2,000. I asked what the most important things to fix ASAP, I had those fixed from another company. 1 week later, my car won't stop the brakes aren't working. I took it back to Precision, manager stated he told me the back drum needed to be replaced and that I shouldn't drive becaues it was unsafe. He never told me that. I had my child in that car, he could care less. Needless to say, I will NEVER recom. this place. They are liar, cheaters, dishonest, horrible company. read more

Total scam!! Do not go to this location!! I cannot believe it is rated so highly- these people must just listen to whatever these people say and get everything they suggest done. Not sure if he was trying to take advantage of me because I was a woman, or what the deal was, but this is absolutely ridiculous. I visited this location recently because my tail light was out and I KNEW when I went into the store that my other tail light was working. The gentlemen told me that neither one of my tail lights were working and that they needed to run a $69.99 electrical diagnostic test. I told them that I would have to pass on that for now, and that I guess I just wouldn't be driving at night. He told me that my brake lights were not working at all and that I needed to be careful because people would not know when I was braking. I left, obviously upset and went to a nearby gas station. I backed my car into the parking spot so I could see the reflection of my tail lights and guess what? BOTH of my lights were working. The bulb may have just came loose or something, but this guy lied to me and tried to get me to pay for something I didn't even need. Absolutely terrible!! read more

They offer complementary service checks when you do an oil change and are not extremely pushy on services they are honest and tell you when something really needs attention. I have had my son take several vehicles there for routine oil changes-each time the employees give him a long list of issues with the vehicle--oddly enough when my husband takes the vehicle he gets an oil change or inspection without hassle. I had a few issues with my car including faulty fog light wiring, needed an oil change, had brake noise, and needed new tires. I usually go to the Precision Tune in RTP but since Adam moved to the Atlantic Ave store, I decided to go there for the first time. Adam explained to me why my light wasn't working and what he was going to have to do in order to fix it, he helped me find tires to meet my demands at a price that I could afford, and he also spent extra time on my car to get it done right before closing up shop on the weekend. Adam was extremely helpful throughout the entire process by staying in touch with the progress on my car, educating me on what he was doing, and overall delivering a great service to me while displaying professionalism and passion for what he was doing for his customer.
