I wasn't sure what the price would be but I figured I'd find that out when I got there. I had to go someplace else that direction anyway so it was a good chance to stop in without adding too many miles on my car. I had fun just wandering around looking at everything and nobody bothered me. I finally found the aisle with the syrups and holy cow I've never seen so many choices in one place! You name a flavor and I bet they had it. Then I realized that they also had the sugar free versions of most of them and the price was only $7. Then when I looked across the aisle I saw that they had another whole aisle with a different brand, DaVinci on one side and Torani on the other side. I couldn't decide which brand to get so I just stuck with the first one I found and it turned out to be a good choice. I tasted it as soon as I got home and it tastes just like Maraschino Cherry syrup in a jar which is exactly what I was looking for. I got the sugar free version and it has no artificial sweetener taste that I noticed. I've been using it in my coffee in the mornings to simulate the flavor of Michigan Cherry coffee which I've been craving since I haven't been to Michigan in 10 years. I've also put it in unflavored sparkling water to make a cherry soda. A few weeks ago I had found a bag of those little pouring tops at a thrift store and bought them on a whim so I could immediately put one of them on my syrup to make it easier to pour. It gives me much more control. I bought two or three other things and there were a couple things I was looking for that they didn't seem to have but I was happy when I left. I think everything was under $10 total. The only issue I had and I'm knocking off one star for it is that I picked up a pack of pretty good quality looking toilet paper, just a four pack, and it was marked $1.50. I didn't realize till I got home that I got charged $1.99. That's not a lot of money and it would cost me more gas money to go back and get reimbursed but it was irritating. I'm assuming she probably scanned the barcode and it came up at a different price than what the sticker on it said but it did have an actual sticker on it that said a $1.50. Other than that the lady at the front counter was super nice and when I got a catch in my throat while I was talking to her she went and got me a bottle of cold water for no charge. As hot as it was out I really appreciated that. I would say it's a store that has excellent customer service not to mention a vast selection of large and small kitchen type equipment. If you need a hard to find item, it's likely they carry it.

We own Tom and Lin Catering and we have used SWRS for all of our rest supply needs, ever since the first encounter. They are not the biggest or the cheapest, but they are the best. I have used many other suppliers and not any of them measure up in service and hospitality as Scott and his team at SWRS. I called to rent some coolers when we were in the worst spot, (covid 19)Scott and the team helped us tremendously by delivering some extra coolers to hold our food as we were going to open a corner store for grocery items. They delivered within hours and because of our long lasting relationship he did this for us without cost! Wow! The outpouring of community support in the midst of this crisis is amazing and! unforgettable. Right now our business is staying afloat and our food cold! And many first responders are eating well thanks to donations and the help of Scott and the team at Southwest Restaurant Supply!

Sometimes those recommendations are great and other times they are passable and mediocre. This one ended up being great. From the first time I walked in, I have always been treated with respect and I feel like they have always been fair to me when it comes to purchasing large amounts of equipment or when I come in hunting for a used prep table, shelving, etc. I don't always find what I need and have bought new equipment when I couldn't find used and it's always been delivered as promised and at a fair price. The several times they didn't have what I needed they have called other restaurant supply places to find the item for me, ensure it's in stock and get a price for me. To me that is the reason they are always my first stop when I need something.

If you're looking for tongs, they have more than 50 versions, but if you're looking for baking supplies you might as well go to Michaels. Also, staff seemed completely checked out. A month later (March) I contacted 'Ian' and was told that they had been backordered and would arrive in August. Last week I went to the store to get an update and was told by a clerk that the ranges didn't come with castors, and I explained that was not the deal and Ian had promised them, although on back-order. I made a second trip to Standard last week, and Ian was not there, so the warehouse manager told me he would give my name and phone to Ian on Monday. Today (Tuesday) I went to the store and was told that he would be out of the warehouse shortly. I waited more than 20 minutes no Ian. It has been obvious that he misled me initially about the castors and now has avoided me by phone and in person four times. The store appears to be in trouble with about 20% of its inventory missing, only about half of the products have pricing and the store is basically a mess and not clean. For those who want to look before they leap, at least compare pricing as I will at Economy Restaurant in Tucson or other competitors. Standard Restaurant Supply has less than standard customer service when they won't return calls or honor a stated 'deal'.
