I had high hopes, as it's the only restaurant supply in town, but was disappointed. They have a lot of items, but lots of merchandise is out of stock, mis-shelved, and random. If you're looking for tongs, they have more than 50 versions, but if you're looking for baking supplies you might as well go to Michaels. Also, staff seemed completely checked out. No one addressed me at any point in my visit, and when I did ask a question, they had no clue. read more

In January, I purchased two commercial ranges ($5,000+) and was told that I would get castors for each in the deal, but they were out of stock presently. A month later (March) I contacted 'Ian' and was told that they had been backordered and would arrive in August. Last week I went to the store to get an update and was told by a clerk that the ranges didn't come with castors, and I explained that was not the deal and Ian had promised them, although on back-order. I made a second trip to Standard last week, and Ian was not there, so the warehouse manager told me he would give my name and phone to Ian on Monday. Today (Tuesday) I went to the store and was told that he would be out of the warehouse shortly. I waited more than 20 minutes no Ian. It has been obvious that he misled me initially about the castors and now has avoided me by phone and in person four times. The store appears to be in trouble with about 20% of its inventory missing, only about half of the products have pricing and the store is basically a mess and not clean. For those who want to look before they leap, at least compare pricing as I will at Economy Restaurant in Tucson or other competitors. Standard Restaurant Supply has less than standard customer service when they won't return calls or honor a stated 'deal'. read more

This restaurant supply store is open to the public and has a pretty good selection of kitchen tools for the home. Prices are all-over the place, but I usually find some bargains. Great selection of dishes and glassware, hard to find barware items. If you enjoy entertaining this is the place to pickup nice serving pieces and bulk paper products. read more

This place has everything! There's absolutely no reason for it to have such a low rating. It's big, well-organized, and easy to shop and find what you need. Prices are all marked and the inventory is really impressive. I'm a home cook so I was just looking for new cake pans, but ended up with high-quality measuring cups, a teapot, and a big shaker for dusting things with flour or what have you, all for about $20. They had supplies for everything from cocktails to cake decorating to pizza making to sushi. Since it's aimed at commercial operations, everything seems durable and no frills, just what you need. I started shopping here back when it was Ford's Restaurant Supply. They recently expanded the merchandise area in the store and their inventory is very impressive. I love the new layout and they've really improved price visibility. As another reviewer noted, this has been a problem in the past. The staff is friendly and helpful. I am a home cook, but learned long ago that buying commercial hardware is worth every penny, not only in performance, but durability. It winds up being cheaper in the long run because you aren't replacing worn out junk. read more

The stuff here needs big time improvement. The staff doesn't show any acknowledgement for any customers. I come here to get supplies for my restaurant. When I need help finding a item I always see the staff chatting and I see them looking at me they know I need help they just look at you and ignore you and keep talking. I find it very unprofessional Just unreal. read more

This place is open to the public and has some pretty good prices on most stuff. However, there are some major issues. First of all: Alot of their equipment and inventory is barcoded but there is no price tag. You have to have someone who works there tell you. Second some are priced but show up differently on their computer so you pay more. But the worst is the customer service. I recently bought 3 chafer dishes for my catering company. My chef picked up all 3 at the same time and when we got back we found out that one box was empty. It was late so I went today and was basically greeted as if I was retarded. They think I stole it and would not help me. Why would I steal a chafer dish when I am about to spend easily $400 on other equipment they ordered. Well not anymore and I'd recommend going to Economy or Arizona Restaurant supply or if you are having an event and just need some temporary equipment rent it from your caterer or talk to your event planner. There are cheaper and better options in Tucson. STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN! read more

The store has it's hours posted "open until 5 on Saturdays." I arrived at 4:50 and the doors were already locked. We knocked and waited for someone to acknowledge us. A lady was walking around the store, stopped to see us, and then proceeded to walk away and off the sales floor. There were other cars in the parking lot and other customers shopping. She clearly made the decision she would rather not help us just so she could try and close early. Well you just lost a customer for life. In an effort to support local businesses, they ended up snubbing me. Taking my business online. Unfortunate their sign "Open to the Public" doesn't include "Rude to customers" because that's what they truly are. read more

Got a flyer in the mail the other day. It said that there were a lot of items on sale just before Thanksgiving and all the others holidays to follow. Also, this is a rather large Restaurant Supply and Equipment company was also open to the public. Not sure if it open all the time to the public or just prior to Holidays. Very impressive if you are adding equipment to a restaurant and stuff like glasses, all sizes shapes, lots of dishware including some really nice Fiesta ware. Also cleaning supplies which so were incredibly high priced. I was surprised. A normal size Windex was well over $6.00. Never seen that anywhere before. But I managed to get a couple of glasses that were missing from my repertoire. Also got an aluminum turkey roaster for $1.49 with handles. So there are some reasonable items as well. The young lady at the check out was very sweet. Lots of staff to help you out. Fun place to walk around. Lots of cake decorator supplies as well. read more

I will not return here. They on the surface are friendly and customer oriented but in reality are very suspect in their business practice. It says returns are allowed within thirty days no questions asked and in truth they charge you even if the product is of poor quality. read more
