Before we even scheduled the inspection, he spent over an hour on the phone answering all of my questions and explaining the testing process in a way that was incredibly thorough and easy to understand. He didn't just collect samples - he took the time to educate us on how to safely manage asbestos and lead during our renovation and what to keep in mind long after we move in. I also felt like he went above and beyond to be careful not to oversample - which I really appreciated as we navigate a budget for all these home repairs. He focused on highest-value spots (with the lowest visibility, visually!) As first-time homeowners navigating construction (and expecting our first baby), we found having someone so knowledgeable, patient, and generous with his time invaluable. It's rare to find someone with this level of expertise who genuinely cares about helping their clients make informed decisions. If we ever need environmental testing again, Steve will be my first call.

I strongly recommend homeowners proceed with caution when dealing with Total Restoration Services…read more After a major leak in our townhouse, they were brought in to handle repairs. They left our downstairs bathroom in terrible shape, and despite Brittany assuring us it would be handled, we were later told the repairs were entirely our responsibility. The bigger issue came later: we found wet, broken drywall inside our upstairs HVAC air-handler closet, exactly on the wall where the leak occurred. This damage was completely missed by their team. The drywall was in perfect condition before the leak, and there is no other source of water in that location. When we informed them, Sean repeatedly promised that the drywall repair would be approved because of his relationship with the property manager. We patiently waited months. Today, he told us the request was denied -- and then denied ever promising he could get it approved. This entire experience has involved misleading assurances, inconsistent information, delays, and a complete lack of accountability. Instead of acknowledging obvious oversight, they refused responsibility at every step. I wish we hadn't trusted this company. Homeowners deserve honesty and professionalism, and we did not receive either.

The dream team and crew went above and beyond in many ways for me, when they were done, they did an excellent job of clean up. He did work for us in the past for water damage and did an excellent job. He was able to fit us in immediately for an estimate due to fire damage. Omar came out with his SERVPRO cleaning team lead by Angie. Omar, Angie and their team did an extraordinary job of cleaning up the fire damage. Our home smells so nice and clean and literally "like it never happened." I haven't met a harder working team of people. They knew exactly what to do and were so thoughtful in doing it. Everyone on their team was fantastic. The office team is excellent as well. Hilda and Christina were so helpful with any questions I had. I refer this team to all my family and friends who need any type of fire or water damage restoration. If you need this type of service, call SERVPRO of Ventura and ask for Omar and Angie. I had a very disappointing experience with SERVPRO. They accepted my mold remediation job knowing…read morethat the source and location of the mold had not been identified. They proceeded to remove portions of two rooms in my home, costing me approximately $5,800. After the demolition, I was told they did not find mold in the areas they removed. My biggest concern is that I wish I had been told BEFORE demolition that they did not know where the mold was and might not find it in those areas. Had I understood that, I would have pursued additional environmental testing before allowing two rooms of my home to be torn apart. I was ultimately left with demolished rooms, continued mold concerns, and significant additional expenses. Based on my experience, I would not use SERVPRO again.

It has been a very long process and we are unfortunately still displaced and not quite close to being finished yet, but Scott and his crew have been excellent. They handle working with the insurance really well, and they get directly paid by the insurance so we don't need our bank to micromanage the funds paid out by insurance. If needed, they have all the connections they may need to keep moving forward with the process. Our house needs some demolition and construction done to fix the fire damage, and his contractors have also been awesome. My husband, who is not easily impressed, has been in fact 100% impressed with everyone he met through our relationship with TACMIT and Scott. There are quite a lot of horror stories in our local chat groups about everything with the fire remediation and restoration having gone wrong. So far TACMIT has handled everything thoroughly and professionally. Thank you for being exactly what we needed after this unfortunate historical disaster!

Was recommended S&J by one of the mold remediation companies, and through text they were able to schedule me in relatively quickly. Guy came in, was fast and friendly, did his thing. He noticed there was vinyl tile on the floor of the area I needed mold treatment so he asked to take a piece to test. I said sure. Results came back quick, and so did the invoice. They tried to upcharge me an extra $405. I replied to them saying that wasn't the agreed upon price. They "fixed" the error and knocked off $100 from the already inflated price, apologizing that they got some detail wrong in the invoice. I had to reply again, challenging that detail and the extra money they were asking for. It was only then that someone in charge finally got involved, explained they'd had me confused with another client, and backed down to the original quoted price-- but tacked on an extra $40 for the floor tile! I paid the invoice because this was 4 days later, but told them they need to disclose when something is going to cost extra. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. While I can accept an honest mistake, I was left feeling like they were trying to take advantage of me, hoping I'd just pay whatever they asked. Whatever the truth is, S&J Environmental Testing leaves a lot to be desired in regard to their customer service.
