Bobby got it in the same day and they did a great job diagnosing the problem and a couple noises I was also concerned about. Had it back to me the next day with the coolant issue resolved and also went the extra mile to fix a vibrating exhaust pipe and compression tank at no extra charge. It's been surprisingly difficult to find mechanics that are extra knowledgeable in 4x4, lifted and specialty jeeps. So I really appreciate the quickness and extra care that was taken. Great owner and team! Highly recommend and will return, myself, for future issues!

They overcharge, double the price of parts, but since I am not an owner of the business that does…read moreme no good. I needed a simple valve cover gasket replacement and if they use my parts they were going to charge me $1600 and if they sold me the parts it was $3600. $3600 for valve cover gaskets and labor???? I got it done elsewhere, it was all good and charged only $550. Their game is to assume you know nothing about cars and first want to take your car for an unknown time and run diagnostics, charge you $175 and then come up with all sorts of things that have zero to do with your main complaint and then when you do not like what they have done, become quite arrogant toward you.

I made an appointment for an emissions test and oil/filter change. At the time, I made it clear…read morethat I already had the oil and filter - the car requires oil with a BMW certification. When I arrived, I was told they would not install a customer-supplied oil filter, as they were worried about responsibility if it failed. Two problems with this: - The filter was Purolator, a reputable brand. It's as reliable as any on the market. Claiming it's a risk to the car is ridiculous, as is the idea that anyone would blame the installer if it performed poorly. - They booked the appointment knowing I planned to bring a filter, then refused to install it when I arrived. I've used Allison's in the past with good results, but no more - their customer service is very poor.

I took my car into the dealership for an oil change about a month ago and they told me my brakes…read morewere so worn that if I didn't get the pads replaced pronto, I would be looking at a repair cost much higher than the several hundred dollars they quoted to get everything changed, drained, replaced, and generally fixed up. So, I went home and started researching places that would do a quality job for less than the dealership. That's when I remembered this family business. My boyfriend took his car here a year ago when he ran into some mechanical trouble, and they got him on the road again. So, I stopped by and asked if they could quote a price for the work. They took a solid look at my brakes and told me that the current ones still have some life left, and could wait until the next oil change at least. This was great news (my budget couldn't support this cost so I was going to have to put it on a weary and beleaguered credit card) but the best part of this was that this honesty instantly made me a loyal customer. I will go back to them for future oil changes, brake jobs and since my car is starting to age, everything else that's going to be needed. These folks are likable and kind, and their competence already proven. I will update this review after my car's next check-up. Update: I love these guys! Yesterday I was having a pretty terrible day, which included a dead battery. Since the battery was only two years old, I had a lot of reason to worry that the problem was the alternator. I managed to get it to Daniel and company, who thoroughly checked it out and assured me everything was fine and got the car and I back on the road lickety split. I am very grateful for that bright spot in yesterday's saga.

A great place if you have an older car and want to keep it running and not buy a new car!!…read more They are great on body work, doing the best job for the price, which is very nice! It used to be great when JD was there. However, JD isn't there anymore and the last time we used Rick's (which is now owned by Alex) it wasn't as good as it was when JD and Rick were there. Alex is a great guy and does a great job and for most cars are definitely way above average and probably the only place you can find in the Garland area that you can rely upon. They offer loaner cars which is very nice, just make sure the spare is inflated before you drive off.. Don't get me wrong, Alex is a great guy, it is that it was a better place when Rick owned it and JD worked there.. Still probably the best place in Garland if you aren't going to a specific dealership or if you want to get good quality work and a good price!
