I've been wanting to remodel my old home from the 1950s for some years now. I wanted to keep some vintage elements but it just needs to be more modern. Michael did a project for me about 9 years ago, and I recently called him again for a small landscaping job. I know he's super busy and handles multiple projects at once, so I really appreciate that he made time for me. He helped us install synthetic grass (dog-friendly and non-toxic--he did his research!), removed old bricks, and added the turf between concrete slabs and in a larger open area. We also planted 100 ficus trees (6 inches tall), and he built a block wall on the side of the yard, keeping our future ADU plans in mind. He even helped us close off the left side of the house and installed a gate on the right for better access. Michael is reliable, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about doing things right. It was definitely worth the research and multiple contractor interviews; my priority was to feel comfortable and prevent mistakes that could cost me more if I dont hire the right people. Full remodeling with Precise- Our experience: I never realized just how much remodeling our home would impact my mood, quality of life, and productivity. My wife and I had been thinking about redoing certain areas of our home, and while we initially planned to tackle it in small steps, we figured--why not go big and do all the major areas at once? Finding the right contractor and crew to trust was crucial. After some research, I found Precise Remodeling and Design on Google. I called and scheduled an appointment with Michael, the owner. From the start, he was kind, knowledgeable, and an absolute expert in design. He helped us choose the perfect colors, textures, and lighting to transform our vision into reality. As you can see from the photos below, our kitchen, master bathroom, and guest bathroom now look like they belong on a movie set (in my humble opinion)! The kitchen: We initially wanted an all-black kitchen with walnut accents (shelves - cabinets). But after several drafts and considering the space, we decided on a semi-gloss backsplash ( 3x8 'Sahn white matte') for the countertop, a porcelain marble-looking design with white veins, and walnut floating shelves. Master Bathroom: My wife and I dreamed of a space that felt like a "cave" or a hot spring--something straight out of The Fifth Element. Michael absolutely flourished with this project. We pre-ordered amber lighting and learned how the right temperature of light can completely transform a space. We chose a tile that resembled teak wood (Its called 'Lexington in the color cognac), along with an organic rock-look tile in shades of dark gray (the bigger the tile the more complicated to work with but it makes it more realistic, these were large 24X48 porcelain stales). And to create an even more unique space we added a black oval tub placed inside the shower space, enclosed by a glass door that extended floor-to-ceiling (most glass doors leave a gap at the top, but going full-height created a seamless, elevated feel). The sinks are real marble imported from Turkey, and the rectangular LED mirror spanned the entire wall. Guest Bathroom: We went with emerald tiles (Diamond shape in dark green), an oval LED mirror, and a design focused on mid-century accents. The other wall incorporates "Harlequin" white ceramic tiles, "Chevron wood" in the color MID inside the niche and LED lights for the perfect ambiance. The chevron wood was also used on the floor. Every detail made perfect use of the space, and the end result was absolutely fantastic. I hired Precise Remodeling and Design for a complete custom kitchen remodel, stripping everything down to the studs and starting from scratch. This included framing a new window and relocating a structural beam. They also made a custom media cabinet for me. Some before and after pics are attached. Ultimately, the highest and most telling praise that I can give Michael and his team is that I will not hesitate to hire them again to do my bathroom and laundry room when the time comes. If I'd hire the same contractor twice, then I've found a good contractor. This is especially true considering that I'm a perfectionist. I obsess over design, symmetry, color, light, craftsmanship, and detail. I tend to notice little things no one else would notice, and care about little things no one else would care about. So... did things go perfectly? No. Of course not. There were some delays, mistakes, and headaches along the way, as there will be with ANY major home renovation project. What's important is to find a contractor you can trust to quickly and effectively address your concerns as they pop up. You can trust Michael to do exactly that. He was wonderful about text and phone communication, and any time that I needed him on site to check something out, he was there. The bottom line is that I'm very happy with my new kitchen, and that's really the most important thing. When they did the work on my house they were again timely (which is super important for me) and completed the job quickly. Michael and his team really came through for me during what was essentially a remodeling nightmare. I had hired another contractor (licensed, recommended, lots of pretty pictures of previous work) to update my bathroom and kitchen. Unfortunately, the contractor was either incompetent or unfamiliar with the building codes for Santa Monica. He rushed work and tried to skip inspections; ultimately, the whole bathroom (the only bathroom) had to be completely undone and left me homeless with a list of building code violations from the city I did not know how to address. Imagine, after 2 months of construction, essentially everything had to be removed and uncovered, to be redone again! Obviously, I wasn't going to continue working with the same contractor crew who did not value my time. Michael and his team were gracious enough to help me out when I was almost at my breaking point. His communication was great and I felt treated as a friend and family. I felt his recommendations were made genuinely with my interests in mind as well as tailored for my lifestyle and the value of my property. Even though Micheal knew I had almost no design in mind and a very poor eye for such things, he was insistent on going through every single design detail with me and made sure I was happy. Honestly, I don't think there was a single recommendation Micheal made that I didn't go with, and I'm seriously glad I did! I cannot be more appreciative of his dedication and time and effort toward my renovation. As lots of work had to be uncovered for proper inspections, we found out that the previous contractor did improper and dangerous electrical work that he tried to cover up to pass inspection. Micheal and his team took pictures of the poor work and gave me recommendations on how to seek retributions. I really can't thank Micheal and his company enough. They pulled me out of one of the most traumatic situations of my life and left me with a beautiful property that truly is beyond all my expectations. Now I feel extremely safe and comfortable going home, love having guests over, and feel confident that I don't have to do any more remodeling on my place for hopefully decades to come. read more

Having had some horrible nightmares working with contractors in the past, I braced for the worst again this time; but I was surprised. I Had some remodeling work with Precise. Everything about them was so professional: Arriving when promised, clean, organized etc... We recently finished a complete kitchen remodel that was quite a large undertaking as it involved a number of unknowns regarding plumbing, electric, as well as layout and construction. I contacted Precise for an estimate on exterior paint and garage conversion. Talia called me back within 10 minutes, and scheduled a free estimate with Michael for the very next day. I honestly wasn't planning on making a decision on the spot but Michael took the time to explain everything to me (3-4 hours) and really covered all the bases. Their architect created plans, and Michael made 3D designs based on it. Even though the first stages of the projects (getting permits with the city) moved a little slow, once construction started and we got the ball rolling the progress was impressing. They responded quickly to my request and came out the next day. We needed to update our bathroom, and replace the flooring in the family room from carpet to tile. We had three other bids and Joseph's was the lowest and we also liked working directly with one of the owners. Joseph went shopping for tile with us and was able to get us some discounts on materials. He worked within our timeframe and got the job done as expected! Michael and the team did a fantastic job on our kitchen. We actually started out with a different contractor, who and ordered the low quality cabinets and got some of the sizes wrong and we had to let him go. Due to his errors, I had to reorder some of the cabinets, wait again and it was just a nightmare. That made us very skeptical when rehiring new contractors. We actually got few bids again through a website called home advisor and decided to go with Precise Remodeling. They did a great job working with some of the cabinets that were already ordered. Michael has a great eye for design, which helped us in choosing the right countertops. Unlike before, They were really listening to what we asked them to do, and that made all the difference. I want to share my experience with Precise Remodeling & Design. The process was easy from beginning to end. We met with Michael, who is one of the owners, and has a great eye for design. We sat and chat about the possibilities of converting my garage into a master bedroom. He literally made a 3D design on the spot. He gave me a price range at the appointment, and a day later emailed is an exact price, which was actually at the lower part of his range. We met again a few days later to discuss more details and gave him a deposit to start working. Through the process Michael remained very responsive and upfront, even when we ran into problems. They were quick in putting together a detailed quote and they were able to start working on my kitchen in only a couple of days after I gave them the green light. Michaels demolition crew was clean and efficient and their cabinet installers were amazing! They ran into some techinal issues onsite but were quickly able to solve it without raising my cost. Before, my kitchen was closed off and seperated from the living area and now, my new modern kitchen is a great space for entertaining. Our old shingle roof was leaking in a couple of places, and we needed to have it repaired fast. Precise remodeling agreed to come on the same day we reached out to them. Michael came out and gave us an estimate to redo our roof. We liked that he was able to show us pictures from similar projects that he completed, and the price was reasonable. He also able to get us financing. It took 10 days to complete the project it went pretty smoothly. Michael's crew was fast and respectful and even the city inspector said that they did a great job.
