She asked how she could help me in a rough tone and then followed it by, " We don't do interviews without an appointment". I inquired about looking around but she told me that my daughter couldn't come in. She then asked me what kind of dog I had and I politely told her that I wasn't interested in bringing my dog to a place that won't let my child come in. Again, she repeated it was for her safety as I walked away (because of her rudeness and poor manners). The facility is in shambles and very unprofessional looking. Am I supposed to leave my child in the parking lot while I drop off the dog? I was surprised by this greeting seeing that the website sounded so inviting with ALL WELCOME and they have a dog bakery and retail store. And it says nowhere on their site to call ahead to make arrangements for visiting or interviews. It didn't seem to make sense to me. I wouldn't use this business if it were the only one around, which unfortunately, it is in Hudson.

One time our small dog got a nickle sized gouge on his side & they didn't know why indicating that they don't watch the dogs that closely. We called later to ask if we could be informed of future injuries and the owner threatened us with not letting us use her services. The owner does not care about relationships with her customers. It is only money that she wants. My wife and I have had several family issues, a death in family & a sister getting brain cancer. I called one day to let her know my dog would not be there due to my foot being injured & was told never to come back due to too many missed days. She was rude on phone & said "It's just business" & hung up. The place is also unsafe for dogs. Cheap, poorly hung house gates can cause dogs to be injured which may explain why my dog was injured so often. Wire fences outside which could collapse easily with a little weight & paws could easily get stuck. The house which this business is run from looks scummy and run-down.

We spent thousands of dollars trying to help him, including a 2-week boot camp with a fantastic trainer. When Thor attacked my other Golden, I called Siobhan at YGGR for help and was told to keep them apart. This advice had zero value as Thor had the strength to break out of any crate and could open doors. After four months of trying, we couldn't make it work. All the money in the world wouldn't make this poor dog integrate with our family. You name it, we tried it. Thor needed a unique home we couldn't provide, so we kept him until I was told they had found one. We returned him to the foster home as a temporary stop until his new home was ready because we didn't want him stuck in a shelter. We provided the home with food, meds, his bed, and everything to make him comfortable. We did our very best and spared no expense. Last week, we applied to adopt another Golden. Yesterday, we were declined because of how we treated Thor. Specifically, we tried to keep him in an 8'x14' kennel a couple of hours a day to keep our other Golden safe when we couldn't be home, and we used an e-collar on him to teach him to be leash trained. I've adopted multiple Golden's from this shelter and anonymously donated thousands of dollars in supplies and funds. There is nothing in the world I wouldn't do for my dogs. To be made to feel like we harmed Thor in any way is absurd and a heartbreaking gut punch we didn't deserve. A day doesn't go by and we don't think of Thor. We hope he's happy wherever he is. As for YGRR, they've lost one a huge supporter and a massive endowment that was coming their way.

She did a great job with both dogs, even though Cruz can be a challenge with his nails being trimmed (he hates it). When I checked out, I presented a $5 discount provided by Yelp after I did a 'Check In'. The cashier 'Sally' mentioned PetSmart does not accept Yelp coupons. However, she had an extra 50% off coupon for salon services which she used. The discount was $13.50.

You'd think when you book an appointment, show up on time that they would put your dog on the table and start with the nail trim and wash. No as I walked out the door almost closed behind me I hear "put her in the cage" So Instead of leaving I waited knowing I was going to get a phone call. Not 5 minutes later "could you come pick her up" hmm I wonder why? I said not to put her in a cage, but that was flown over their heads because they do not care. I highly recommend you take your dog somewhere else because this place is a joke. I typically use a mobile groomer but he was unavailable, I thought this would have been a quick easy service but was not. Hire people that are capable of their jobs. I've never booked an appointment to get my hair cut where I had to go wait in a cage. I'm sat down right away because I booked the hair dresser for a specific time like I did for my dog. Do better!!! And no where on your website says that they go in cages.

Our consult was with Nance, and she was very patient in explaining the process and talking us through some initial things that we were struggling with. Then, we started with a training package that included 3 private training classes and 2 months of group obedience classes. We also went to a few puppy kindergarten classes. Nicole did the majority of our trainings and she has been a god-sent. She is very good with the dogs, and her energy level makes the training classes fun both for us and our dog. We learned a lot from Nicole and she helped us to feel a lot less stressed out and actually enjoy the puppyhood. The obedience class is set up like a monthly subscription, where you can go to as many classes as you want. We end up going about 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes, as it is a great activity to mentally exercise our dog and provide socialization while working alongside other dogs. We also started bringing our dog to their dog day camp 2x a week. Tim was also very patient in explaining the process. The dog day camp has been great in getting her to play with other dogs and allows her to learn obedience from others aside from us.

I grew up in Hudson and left at 18 vowing never to come back. I lived all over the world,…read morecollecting dogs in my travels, and moved back to Hudson at the beginning of the summer with my now husband and 2 dogs. We work A LOT so I was blowing through dog walkers and dog sitters left and right. My dogs are small. They're sweet. They're emotional. They require some patience and tenderness that I was sure I was never going to find in a dog walker/pet sitter. I have an irrational obsession with both of my dogs -- I found one in kennel in South Korea, sick and abused. The other we got at another shelter and she is vivacious and social when comfortable, but often uncomfortable. They sleep in the bed. Eat salad. You get it. I'm crazy, my dogs live well and I want them to always live well. My husband told me a few weeks after moving to Lake Boon that there was a dog daycare on our street, 3 houses down. I thought he was seeing things. I had spent the entire summer interviewing, hiring and being disappointed by dog walkers/pet sitters. "She hid under the couch so I didn't walk her" "he didn't eat... last meal was 3 days ago. is that ok?" On and on. So, there was NO WAY there was a pet sitter on my street. And my husband now can say "this is the one meaningful, useful thing I have contributed to our relationship" - he found the BEST dog sitters ever! 5 doors down. We recently traveled internationally and for the first time ever, I gave my dogs to someone who doesn't share half my DNA. This was not easy. We are back now and my dogs are so happy and I can tell they have been happy since we were gone. I know they missed us but they were SO well cared for. They slept in beds. They snuggled. They played. They walked. They got individual attention - they were cared for as well as I would care for them and that is soooooo perfectly wonderful. You all are fantastic and we thank you so much! I feel like I'm leaving my dogs with... myself away from myself. Does that make sense? Maybe not. Do not hesitate to contact Nancy for all your pet care needs.
