Stopped by tonight to check this new pizza place in town. This is not the first to serve pizza out of this building but with that being said the former businesses were good and moved locations not out of business. We got the Don and the Fungi. They were thin crust and were pretty good. As for the size they were 12 to 13 inches and wished they were a little bigger (like a 16 inch pizza). But the taste was good. For 2 pizzas the total came to about $35.00. One thing I have to add is when the pizza cooled down the crust seemed to get crispy and a little hard. I guess the best bet would be to give it a try and let everyone know what you think. The pics are with a few slices missing

There's been a shift in staff, and while they're still friendly, they could use a little more training and attention to detail. Nothing wild, just tightening up. Overall, the kitchen is still doing what it's supposed to do, and the flavors are still very much home.

We started out with an order of seafood croquettes. They were good, but not our favorite. We also had an order of brussels sprouts and they were perfect. My husband ordered their shepherds pie. It was a massive portion. The whipped potatoes on top had just enough flavor to complement the beef and veggies. My daughter ordered the seafood, stuffed potato, and boy was it stuffed! Rich creamy sauce with lots of shrimp and crawfish. The yakamein was calling my name! It was perfect for a cold windy day. I had a little bit of a kick and just enough noodles and seafood to make me happy. The portions are very generous, so be prepared to ask for a to go box. This place is definitely worth checking out.

If you like a hot sandwich, the portobello mushroom and swiss is tasty and is unique amongst sandwich chains. The cold Veggie sandwich is good - get extra cheese and it is as filling as a meat sub. The Philly chicken cheesesteak is fabulous, better than the steak version. I love the hot pepper mix they offer. Goes with almost any sub on the menu. The staff are friendly. I have had them bring out carside delivery in bad weather and they are still cheerful. Props for that. Sometimes they are busy and hustling and the vibe gets a little rushed but that's understandable. The store is clean. It is small so it gets crowded at peak times. The traffic flow through the ordering line doesn't always work very well, kind of meanders through the tables. They have an outside patio where you can sit if the weather cooperates. The parking lot is crazy tight. Narrow lot with straight-in parking spaces. Add a few big SUVs squeezing in there and you are taking your chances. Save your car doors and park down by the Walgreens and walk to the store.

My sandwich was great. I will definitely be back. One thing noteworthy: the parking lot at this location is wack. The lot is tight and the parking spaces are tiny, making it difficult to maneuver around the ubiquitous monster trucks and big SUVs. Several businesses share this teeny lot, but at off-peak times when places are closed it is easier to get in/out.

On multiple visits close to closing time (around 8:00 PM, with posted closing at 9:00 PM), employees were rude, dismissive, and appeared unwilling to serve customers. While I understand that staff may be preparing to close, customers should still receive courteous service during all posted business hours. During one visit, while I was briefly speaking with someone, an employee repeatedly called my name three times within about 15 seconds to remove my to-go order from the counter. The interaction felt unnecessarily impatient and disrespectful. At the same time, another customer was still dining in the restaurant and there were approximately 15 minutes remaining before closing. On a separate visit, when we placed a to-go order, the employee seemed bothered by having to take the order and stated they were out of brisket. Whether or not the item was actually unavailable, the attitude and lack of customer service were noticeable. What concerns me most is that these were not isolated incidents. There appears to be a pattern of poor customer service during the last hour of business. Customers should not feel unwelcome simply because they choose to visit later in the evening while the restaurant is still open. I am sharing this feedback because I enjoy this location and would like to continue supporting it. However, the current staff could benefit from additional training in professionalism, friendliness, and customer service. I hope management will address these concerns so that all guests receive the same level of service throughout operating hours.

MAY 2026 Anniversary Vacation Part 4A: NOLA Southern Grill…read morein Slidell, LA. We were in Oyster Heaven last night at NOLA Southern Grill. It's a Hidden Gem nestled in Slidell, LA. We like to sit at the bar in restaurants and chat with people. Last night, we enjoyed chatting with the bartender Carol and her friend who is another local. I started off with a killer dirty martini! Carol knows how to make a good one! She, the cooks and entire staff are so appreciated! They were a lot of fun. Carol was so nice, very attentive and saw to every need of her customers. They offer Happy Hour 3-6:00 which included OYSTERS, raw or chargrilled! So I had both...raw and chargrilled. Terry stuck with the grilled. The raw oysters were amazing! Plumper, meatier, creamy and mild and less briny than East Coast NC and VA oysters. These are the kind of oysters you also want to fry! They were so perfect and so delicious! Next came out the Chargrilled Oysters...drenched and grilled with a melted Parmesan, Garlic, Herb Butter Sauce and served with slices of warm, garlic French bread to sop up the hot butter sauce that pooled at the bottom of the tray. Oh my oh my oh my! Shut the front door OUTSTANDING! Terry and I relished every single bite, I may have been moaning as I kept saying how delicious they were. Perfection on an oyster shell. We shared 2 doz chargrilled plus I had a doz raw with cocktail sauce and freshly grated horseradish. I seriously think I could have had more oysters! Terry also ordered their fried mushrooms, best we ever had! We ate like Kings and Queens. Dragos is on our list to go to but if we don't make it there this time, I'm so happy with NOLA Southern Grill's chargrilled oysters, I'm good, I don't need to go. I would like to compare the chargrilled oysters though, we shall see. But in the meantime....move over Dragos! NOLA Southern Grill has entered the building! Let's what we can get into trouble with later today in NOLA. I have my list!

My Mom loved the Red Fish with Crab Sauce. I didn't try it. For myself I ordered the 3 Meat BBQ plate. Smoke Sausage, 1/2 chicken and Ribs. The Ribs I never got and didn't notice until I got home. What a Number, the Ribs is what I was looking forward to the most. The two Sides I chose was Onion Rings which I think we're possibly marinated in Pickle Juice. They were actually very good. The best thing I tried was the Mac and Cheese. Creamy,.Cheesy and just really good. I called about the Ribs only to find out that BBQ is only on the weekends. They put me down to get Ribs on next Saturday. I thought about it and probably won't go back for three Ribs driving from either New Orleans or Covington because I don't know which city I'll be in as I'm here for work. To me if you mess up and have to wait days I want the meal not three Ribs. I might lose my sh17 if the give me three bones after driving 40 minutes in either direction. Not sure about this one.
