I called in on a Sunday morning to Bring my just purchased used Ridley road bike in for a gear adjustment. I was told would be about 8$ as long as that was all that was needed. I rode in. Greeted by the friendly staff. They adjusted my gears while i waited. 10 mins. Also was able to chat with the tech. Recommended a chain replacement because mine was stretched. I paid 50$ for a gear adjustment and chain replacement. Fair price. Bike rode like new. Smooth on point shifting. Only thing i forgot was a tire pressure top off. I had a great experience 20 min visit. They hooked my bike up. In and out. I will be back. Thanks prairie path cycles for the quick service!!

I have been to lots of gyms and boot camps and I didn't know what to expect from here. This place is like small group personal training. You sign in when you enter and then warm up. Then you move along the stations doing each for 1 minute with time in between to switch and catch a drink. The trainers are there to watch your alignment, help you set a challenging level and encourage you. You are not on your own! At the end of the circuit, you have a cool down and you are done! The trainers help you make it challenging and you don't have to figure out what to do, they've already done it for you! When I was there, I saw people of all ages, shapes and sizes. All were working hard and many had lost several inches through the program. Stop in and check it out!

I only dropped in for 1 class, as I don't live in the area (out of state), but if I did, I would definitely join. There seems to be a nice variety of classes offered and I can imagine they are all quite challenging and offer a great total body workout. I tried the Metabolic Circuit class and it definitely kicked my butt. The class focused on a combination of several exercises, each done for 30-seconds with a 20-second recovery in between where you move on to the next exercise in the rotation. Some of the exercises included in the class I took were skull crushers, burpees & pull-ups, weighted squat, bus drivers, TRX push-up to plank, kettlebell snatches, and a shuffle with ball slam. All of which were killer and worked out my entire body. The class began with a short warm-up, followed by 3 complete rounds of each exercise in the circuit. We finished out the class with a 5-minute challenge which included kettlebell swings, air squats, push-ups, bent over rows and sit-ups. AMRAP within 5 minutes. And of course some post-class stretching. Bill is the main trainer. He is very friendly and has great energy. Bill added some humor here & there throughout the class here to keep everyone smiling. He consistently checked in on me during the workout to make sure I was using proper technique for each exercise and helped make adjustments to my form as needed. There were two other trainers on-site as well during the workout encouraging participants and helping with form adjustments to keep everyone safe. Side note: they also offer post-workout nutrition (bars and fresh smoothies), and massage as well. **Didn't snap any pictures as I was pressed for time, and also too busy getting my butt kicked. But Bill snapped some pics and made them into a collage he posted on his Instagram, so I will save and share that one.**

ForwardFit offers a variety of classes, ranging from fitness boxing, tabata (HIIT), core strength, metabolic circuit training, power pump, trx, yoga (from my understanding, they switch up classes and add new ones). The trainers mix-up the workouts every week and it makes every day coming to class exciting and something to look forward to every evening & Saturday mornings. You'll find people of different ages, weights, goals, performances but one's thing for sure--no one walks out challenged. It's been about a month since I signed-up and I'm really glad I did my research and chose ForwardFit. Initially, I had my hesitations since I wasn't in the best shape and I wasn't on some work-out routine before joining. I feared judgement and even more of a lack of self-esteem. Since Day 1, those hesitations and fears are long gone. There's a community at ForwardFit who will welcome you with open arms and push you to be the best version of yourself. Because of the awesome workouts and encouragement, I see results! It's been exciting to constantly challenge my body and mind and I'm so proud to be a member of this facility.

He explained the stations and we started... oh goodness I needed some help but it didn't seem like he noticed because he was searching for prince music to play during the workout... oh man ... this made me worry. Goodness I hope it won't be like this for 30 days... ok ok I chalked that day up to Prince day and waited for day 2! Didn't wanna judge so quickly!! OMG. DAY 2.. DAY 2... HELL I THINK I SAW YOU! it was completely different from day one! The workout was tough but I pushed through with my new name. THE ROOKIE.. he was paying attention to me... Day 3... oh Lord... I wondered did someone come in my head and pull out my thoughts and told them to him?!!! Boy was I wrong to even think that this would be anything short of amazing! The variety... the attentiveness... the variation... I love the hell I was being dished out... It's been nearly 30 days and I'm seeing results!!! I've also signed up for classes beyond the groupon which was pretty reasonable as well! I'm looking forward to seeing what the next 30 days holds at H&H!!! No matter where you are in your fitness journey, you are encouraged, pushed, and celebrated. And I think that is what sets OTF apart from other fitness centers and other personal training. I am a NCAA D2 XC and Track athlete, and I was challenged and I have gotten so much stronger than if I was to do the exact same thing by myself. The place has a cult-like following and a reputation for being expensive but worth the cost. The only way to get a deal is to sign up at a new location and get in on the founder's rate. But you don't want to sign up at a location that's not close to you because, from what I hear, if you attend enough classes at a studio other than your home one, they eventually move your membership to the most frequented location and you may or may not get to keep your founder's rate. After the poor experience at the other location, I was glad to see this Carol Stream / North Wheaton location pop-up that was just as close to me in the opposite direction so I could try signing up again. Plus the added bonus of getting the elusive founder's rate. This location isn't open yet - sometime early fall they say - but my experience so far has been excellent. They've returned promptly my many phone calls asking about rates, expected open dates, plan changes etc. Got the required heart rate monitor at no charge. Got the founder's rate. I initially signed up for the unlimited session plan but upon reflection realized that the 8-session plan is probably a better value for my expected usage pattern, and they let me change without any hassles....it did require an in-person visit again but they had the form sitting on a desk ready for me to sign and I was in and out in 5 minutes. Gyms aren't known for good customer service...most will treat you like a criminal if you try to cancel or downgrade. So, this place has already won me over with their excellent service and they're not even open yet. I can't wait until they do open so I can finally find out what all the hoopla is about.

Hope this is something that can be addressed as everyone in this community deserves fair opportunities to enjoy these amenities.$19 for an 1hr in the gym is ridiculous.

Where do I start?…read more upon initial tour I was kind of impressed, but I hadn't really looked anywhere else (MY MISTAKE!!) and signed up right away. my very first class I went to was called cardio dance. It was on a Saturday and the instructor was Angela. I could barely keep up with the class. It's like she's dancing to herself in the mirror with tons of jumping, and I don't know why people equate jumping with fitness. You can get a workout quite effectively without jumping around anyway she came up to me at the end of the class and told me because we were the same height that I should "look like her" and I was completely offended... not only is that ignorant. It's completely wrong because somebody's bone structure is not the same as somebody else's . Furthermore he should not be insulting somebody that's a paying member that's trying to better themselves. Then I took a pool fitness class. That's right here has to be the worst experience I've ever had in my entire life. On this particular day, one of the instructors I like didn't happen to come, and Terri showed up. I knew I should have left because I had already had issues with her for some reason she does not like me and doesn't try to hide it. You get the people in the pool that stand in the back row and all they do is talk and you can barely hear the music or what the instructor is saying and nobody says anything to them, but the person that's trying to better themselves that has injuries is being yelled at saying I'm "not working hard enough" or "push it harder"... even though I have injuries so on this particular day, I got screamed at in my face in front of a class of people And I was asked why I'm wasting her time and not working hard enough?!? I have an injury yet TERRI told me to push through that so I did and ended up almost five months on bed rest Another instructor tells you a move and stares off into space for about 5 minutes, then repeat. Super fun! Formats aren't followed correctly. You get classes here that cancel with very short (or no notice at all)! when you find an instructor that you like, they end up leaving or have previous commitments. Needless to say I have canceled my membership. I found somewhere that is less expensive that offers more. This place does not have a hot tub. They do not have tanning and they do not have massage chairs. People are not very friendly here and that's not conducive to feeling comfortable. And I have had at least four people tell me they are not comfortable there because they feel like they're constantly being judged so this cannot only be me that fails this way I can go elsewhere and feel totally accepted. No matter my size no matter my injuries and have every amenity that I want and then some . Yesterday when I tried to cancel well, I'm sure you can imagine I was met with more rudeness which only solidified my decision and I had gone back-and-forth with this for five months and there's no point in wasting my money for something I'm not using and I'm not happy with I would just say look around a little more might find something with instructors that actually care if you succeed. Here you're just another number and they don't really care and I'm not going to miss it. I've already lost a lot more weight going elsewhere and I'm a lot happier.
