I took my dogs Cece-practical cuts because my regular groomers were closed for Covid-19. After taking my dogs there, they came back so hurt they didn't eat for the rest of the day. They were hurting because she cut their nails too short and cut into the quick nail (inner nail) causing alot of bleeding and discomfort. They were also shaking and scratching their ears and body, maybe from a bad rinsing. When I checked their ears, they were turning red and bleeding from all the scratching, especially with the misshapen nails even 3 days after. When I realized all the grooming errors, I spoke to Cece and she said she needed to cut the quick nail due to its length. However, every opinion I asked afterwards says she cut way too short (5 groomers so far) Even if she thought she needed to, she didn't ask or let me know before she caused my dogs so much discomfort. She had my phone number... She even said most  customers like how she cuts nails, but ghats hard to believe seeing how much pain it's caused. I also noticed the time she took. Most groomers take 1 1/2 to 2 hours per dog. She took 45 minutes. I realized afterwards she was even scheduling for 45 minute blocks. This makes me believe she purposely didn't care for my dogs properly trying to take in as much business as she can. This woyld also explain the sloppy manner she groomed/ handled them. She also told me she needed to muzzle my dog because she had bitten her. My dog has never bitten any groomers before. She is always calm before, so if this is true then its proof of how poorly she treated my dogs. She claims she's been grooming for 19 years. If so, then how does she seem to lack basic skills needed for grooming? Even interactions with her were unproffesional and unreasonable. If you care for your dogs, please for their sake don't take them here. They will be treated in a brutish and uncompassionate manner. As you can see her response to my review is a complete lie. Proof of how she treated my dogs are in the pictures! Clearly this is no longer a conversation. She is adding misinformation to confuse the situation. The pictures and my experience has been shared. I have taken my dogs to Practical Cuts for both grooming and boarding by Cece for years. I found Cece on Facebook after a frustrated post on my part that yet another "highly recommended" groomer returned my dogs with nicks and razor burns. I was trying a new "highly recommended" groomer every time my pups needed grooming, and was in despair. Cece introduced herself, a couple of people I knew personally supported Cece, so I warily tried yet another groomer. My pups were not afraid of her the very first time we went: clue #1. Clue #2: Cece took a moment to get to know me, each dog, what kind of clip I wanted, and if there was anything she should know or watch for. Clue #3: there was no whining, barking, or howling in the background. Clue #4: my dogs happily went with her without looking back. Gold star #1: Cece discovered a small problem with one of my dogs before bathing it, took a photo, sent it to me advising me on how to care for it, & what to watch for. It was a small problem we knew about, but had forgotten to mention. Gold star #2: we received a couple of updates during the grooming because Cece knew how distrustful I was. Gold star #3: the dogs were relaxed and happy with her when we came to pick them up, just trotting out next to her without pulling desperately to get away from her. Over the years, the dogs have gotten to know the route to Practical Cuts and wag happily as we approach. I remember one small incident where there was a tiny razor burn due to a place that was badly matted that Cece put soothing ointment on and let us know about before picking the dogs up. The dogs were still in love with her. She has notified us of things she had noticed that could be an early symptom of a health issue. We'd go to the vet who would congratulate us on a "good catch" (3 incidents I can recall). The last was that our oldest pup (now 19 years old) really needed dental care because she was in pain. Our vet just said she was too old to pull the teeth and just try to keep her as comfortable as possible. Going to another vet sometime later, they determined that she was strong enough for the surgery to remove the teeth, and boy are we glad. She's so strong, and now feels so much better. We just took the dogs for grooming again a couple of weeks ago and will be back again and again and again. I trust no one else. read more

I usually don't leave reviews (especially bad ones) but I felt like it was my job as a fellow dog parent. I went here because all of the other reviews seemed so good... To start she was done giving our dog a bath, trimming her toe hairs, cutting her nails, anal gland expression, sanitary cut, and cleaning her ears in less than 30 minutes. Which tells me that she did it WAY to fast and rushed it. Secondly, she PURPOSELY cut ALL of my puppy's quicks. When I asked her about it she said that it can be done when if groomer is experienced and if the dog "isn't a baby about it." WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT. I asked my vet about it and she said that cutting the quick is extremely painful and that quick stop helps clot it but that it burns. The vet also said that they only do it in the office when the dogs nails are over grown and curling/hurting the dog when walking. The groomer did not ask me first if it was okay or even if my dog would tolerate it- she just did it. Third, whatever the groomer used to clean our puppy's ears really irritated them and she's been scratching at it so hard that her poor ears are bleeding (which she has had her ears cleaned many times before and it has NEVER been a problem). Because the groomer used quick stop on every single nail, she also did not file them so our dog's nails are extremelyyy sharp. I gave her an extra star because she was nice and took me in on short notice and gave Lulu a cute bandanna, but that's about the only positive thing I can say about this place. read more

Today I brought 2 of my dogs, Papa and Maximus, to be groomed by Cece on a referral by my daughter, who also recently brought her dog to Cece to be groomed. Side note: today was Max's first haircut. Cece came out to greet us right away and was done with both dogs in just under 2 hours. Record time for the same services that would have kept my dog at Petco for 3-4 hours (mostly kenneled). We have had such great experiences going to Practical Cuts. At first I was taking my dog (a Jack Russell mix) to get his nails trimmed. Cece, the owner, has always been punctual and would take him in and out in a jiffy. She's very good at making sure he's calm and willing to go with her.
