My wife is Puerto Rican. I've been to Puerto Rico a bunch of times and I've never heard of a Puerto Rican hotdog.

Patrons were all soft spoken and music was low as well here, which was a very nice contrast to the often loud music of other restaurants in the area. Food was a pleasant medley of spices and sweetness. Cannot recommend this place highly enough, their jerk chicken was fall off the bone. It reminded me of Jamaica but it was honestly better than when I was there. 10/10! I forgot to take photos we devoured the food we ordered so quickly! Vegetarian combination platter was also something my partner loved! So great for vegetarians too!

You should never in life need a knife for oxtails, but the knife was warranted because we indeed did. What meat there was, was tough and entirely lacking in flavor, to include the gravy they swam in - which had the barest HINT of spice. Another reviewer got it right when they said it's generous to claim the dish is accompanied by a side of collards. There was a sprinkling of chopped, nearly raw collards and a chunk of mofongo. Perhaps the food is better when the chef is actually in the kitchen, but he definitely wasn't back there on this day. My husband's Coke was flat and the Jamaican hibiscus tea was mouth puckering. The ambiance was nice - loved the bazaar - and the staff friendly, but unfortunately that's the best that can be said.

I've tried some of the burger variations and they're delicious when you'd like a change. Salads are basic and the green chile stew is thin. The worst thing I can say is that one of the cashiers is way too assertive about soliciting tips at the register. Unprofessional, and rude when I finally decided not to tip her. That was a first for me! Especially since everyone else on staff is amazing! So Do give it a try. I've returned many times and am usually happy if I order only my favorite burger! One final note: the wait for a meal can be long at lunchtime, more than 30 minutes for a burger. The patio's gorgeous, though, so if you're socializing and not on a tight schedule, it's worth it!

To summarize: The beer battered onion petals with ranch were amazing. My boyfriend said his fries weren't bad but nothing to write home about. We both enjoyed our burgers. Now I sent my boyfriend to go do a take out order. For my bacon burger I wanted the burger only, add mayo on the side and add red onion to the burger. When he comes back, I am missing the red onion and the mayo. I had to walk back to the location, stand at the register while being ignored by 4 employees, 3 "cooks" and 1 other employee seemed to be a plain front of house worker/waiter, until another 5th employee comes to the register. I had the take out bag on the counter so they could see I wasn't ordering anything new, just wanted to fix an incorrect order but no one greeted or acknowledged me. No one said one moment either. The girl who came to the register was sweet and asked the cooks for my onion on the side. When she joked with them about not putting onion on my burger the older woman cook blamed a new girl employee for the mistake. I then got 3 thin slices of red onion and the mayo packets and went on my way. I took a screenshot of the online prices for this location for some of the burgers because they are actually incorrect- by $2! Not very nice to see especially if a family is on a trip and let's say only had cash. Just be careful and check your orders and wait until you're IN the restaurant for pricing. (Completely forgot to take a photo of the menu put up in there.)

This is a pharmacy/store/diner with a very good local vibe. The pharmacy has a bit of everything, from books, jewelry, and toys, to clothing, decor, and kitchen stuff. And when we thought there was no space for a diner, we found where the magic takes place just around the corner, where we were welcomed and seated. People were friendly, kitchen staff were getting stuff out quickly, and our server was ok. Efficiency was a clear target for everyone and our food was on our table in no time. For food, our friends ordered the breakfast burritos (with red only and a Christmas version), , the hubs ordered the carne adobada, and I ordered the tamal plate with red and green, just like I like I like it . Everyone was pleased with their choices. The burritos were big and tasty. The carne adobada had a lot of deliciously marinated pork and the steamed potatoes were quite a good addition. The tortilla with butter was simple yet delicious, with a firm and thick tortilla. The tamal plate was almost perfect. The red and green sauces were amazing, but I was slightly partial to the spicier green chile sauce. The masa on the tamales was firm and good. If there was one change I would make, it would be for the tamales to have more filling. Overall, we had a good experience at a very unique place! Stop by the store to get some local products or useful things for your home.
