The arepa itself just a little dry but still good. Papelon lemonade was the star of the show and not too sweet, very well spiced and uniquely tasting with cloves and other spices. Really refreshing and tasted great at the beginning of fall.

Havana is your place if you're looking for some tasty Cuban dining! I dropped in for dinner and opted for the shredded beef with black beans, rice and plantains. The cubano was decent a little too much mustard for my taste which made the whole sandwich too tangy for me. The Pelotero was much better with deeper flavors in the meat, beans and rice. Honestly I ended up switching plates with my hubs because his food was way better. The place is small and cute and you do have to order your food at the counter and then they bring it out to your table. The bathroom is super tiny but clean. Prices are a little bit higher than I expected for the amount of food we received. Overall a nice find

And the stuffed phyllo with a side of fufu. Which was delicious. The fufu I mean. I shaped chunks of it like a spoon and used it to scoop up the stews. Not a novel idea, by the way. For a drink I had the fresh tamarind which was lightly sweetened and refreshing. The lamb was mild and benefited from a touch of salt, according to my companion. The beberé was sweetened by the sweet potato and probably my favorite of the three. The phyllo was exceptionally good! The table hot sauce has a chili and vinegar kick but is not particularly spicy. Service was great as well.

Very casual but comfortable place with an African shop adjacent. I'd definitely give it a go again.
