He had been taking care of pool maintenance himself but this summer the pool wouldn't get clear and stayed green. My son has had bad experiences with contractors so he didn't want to hire anyone. Being an avid yelper I asked him if I could find a pool company to go out and I'd pay for it if the results were not successful. Well, great news! The results were successful so I don't need to cover it :) My son was happy to pay for quality assistance. He thinks he can now handle cleaning for the winter, after getting some advice from the tech. And we will hire Clear as Crystal to do the maintenance next Summer. I really appreciate the willingness to come out, fix the issue, and explain it to my son so he can learn. He is a young man and these experiences are important. Especially as a fairly new home owner and landlord. They charged a reasonable fee and didn't pressure him to sign up for regular service, although like I said, we probably will- at least for the warmer months. No notice before showing up (even though we have a people-reactive dog and told them in advance to warn us). The tech backwashed directly into our yard, ignoring the clean-out 15 feet away, then tossed in only 3 chlorine tabs. That's it. When I called, I got a lukewarm apology and was told the same level of service we used to get would now cost double. They didn't address the algae issue we already had, so I ended up doing it myself. I cancelled after one week. Then came the multiple payment demands for that single week, before the invoice was even due. Not local (based in Flagstaff), overpriced, and unprofessional. Would not recommend.
