We had smashburger here although it was tasty it was a bit pricey but as expected at a resort. Coming on a Tuesday it was very relaxed at the pool and nice to hang out without it being jam packed. We made reservations at Tierra Y Mar for the 16th but unfortunately early morning I received a email cancelling our birthday dinner due to maintenance which was pretty upsetting so we drove back down to San Diego for our birthday. Besides our reservations being cancelled unexpectedly everything went really smooth here at Harrahs and I look forward to coming back soon.

When I explained all of his training and then tasks they said he was not "acting like a service dog" and they said they watched footage of us waiting for a minute while they were coming and that he was "pulling on his lead" and "not patting attention" I said I take an accusation like this very seriously and that if they are truly claiming that I want all of this is writing and documentation of him "not acting like a service dog" as well as that video evidence of him not acting like a service dog. I then unfortunately had an episode due to the drama of it all to which my dog tasked and my husband stepped up and took over. They then realized they had messed up, changed their mind and said "we will allow it just this time" Absolutely ridiculous. My dog has gone through extensive training, been certified through two trainers, has passed his CGC and public access and the audacity for a security guard to say he wasn't acting like a service dog because he wasn't looking up at me every single second is ridiculous. They are not robots, he can get stepped on if not careful, he checks in every 10-15 seconds and alerts just fine. They would not show us footage of him "not acting like a service dog" which makes me think they were just lying to try and not allow us entry. I'm only writing this review so others don't feel absolutely awful since the valley view security treats people as the service dog police. I understand people abuse and lie about service animals, but it was quite obvious my dog is trained. To be questioned like a that was awful and just sad. Just be for warned you're going to be questioned like a criminal and may or may not be allowed entry with a service animal.

The casino is small, but it looks like they're trying to expand or rearrange the space by moving the slot machines and placing the tables on one side. The parking garage has security cameras, which is a plus. The hotel hallways are dark, dull, and dated, with pale gray walls. Unfortunately, the room was also very dark, with not enough lamps or lighting. You might want to bring your own portable light! The bed was comfortable, and there were plenty of outlets to charge your electronics. Room 637 did not have a luggage rack and had a connecting door to the neighboring room. Wi-Fi worked fine. The bathroom is spacious but could use some artwork or color. The toilet has its own door, but the lighting in there is poor. I didn't use the tub. The shower was a disappointment. There was no hot water at 11 p.m., although it was available at 6 a.m. The water pressure was also too strong, and somehow, water leaked all over the bathroom floor despite the shower glass door being closed. The small bath mat wasn't enough to soak it all up, so be careful not to slip & fall! The pool area was closed, which was disappointing considering it was still warm outside. There's also no spa on-site, despite the hotel's name being Pala Spa & Casino. No buffet either. I didn't try any of the restaurants on the property, and there aren't many other dining options nearby. You'll need to drive to Temecula for more choices. Check-in was another downside. If you arrive early, you'll be told to wait until the official check-in time. By then, the line can get extremely long, with only two employees working behind the counter. Overall, it's an okay place to stay if you're visiting the casino, but don't expect anything luxurious. The hotel could use some updates, better lighting, and improved amenities and service.
