This is my experience at this dry cleaners. I started taking my clothes to this dry cleaners about 5 weeks ago. I liked the quality of the work they were doing and had been planning on continuing to use their dry cleaning services. But, the last time I dropped off my clothes and picked up my other ones I gave the owner my credit card and noticed the amount was higher than I had expected and so I asked him what was the cost of the clothes I was picking up. The owner responded by saying, "I charged you for the clothes you dropped off and the clothes you just picked up". So, I said, "Why would you do that". The owner responded by saying, "I always charge people for their clothes when they drop them off". So I said, "I've been coming here for 5 weeks and you've never had me prepay for my clothes before you launder or dry clean them". So the owner then said, "That's my new policy and I don't want to have to pay 2 credit card fees so I charged you for all your clothes". My response was, "I've had my clothes dry cleaned in over 10 different states over the past 25 years and I've never had to prepay before having my clothes dry cleaned." Then the owner started to act rude and said, "When you buy something on the internet do you pay upfront or after you get it"? I said, "That's the internet and this is a Dry Cleaners". Now at this point, I'm upset and frustrated because I'm a very polite paying customer and the owner isn't being very polite. So then I said, "Do you want me to continue coming here, do you want my business, do you want me to continue paying you to clean my clothes." The owner then responded by saying, "I don't know what you do for a living". So I repeated myself and the owner responded, "Yes I want your business". The conversation continued for another minute or two and the owner went on to tell me that he has the cheapest rates around the area and that he's been here the longest and that he does the best job but at the same time, he was being very rude and obnoxious. So, his first reason was it's his new policy and then it's that he doesn't want to pay a credit card fee, and then it's because that's how it's done on the internet. If the customer service experience is horrible why would I continue to waste my time? One would think in an environment where businesses are struggling to do well that a business would do anything but chase a new reliable paying customer away. So, they've chased me away because their customer service stinks. Who has time to argue with someone who's more interested in arguing than acquiring more business? read more
